I Will Recount Your Wonderful Deeds

1 ^[1] To the choirmaster: according to Muth-labben.^[2] A Psalm of David. I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds. (Ps 26:7; Ps 40:5; Ps 96:3; Ps 105:5)

2 I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. (Ps 5:11; Ps 7:17; Ps 83:18) 3 When my enemies turn back, they stumble and perish before^[3] your presence. 4 For you have maintained my just cause; you have sat on the throne, giving righteous judgment. 6 The enemy came to an end in everlasting ruins; their cities you rooted out; the very memory of them has perished. 7 But the Lord sits enthroned forever; he has established his throne for justice, 8 and he judges the world with righteousness; he judges the peoples with uprightness. 10 And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you. (Ps 91:14) 11 Sing praises to the Lord, who sits enthroned in Zion! Tell among the peoples his deeds! (Ps 76:2; Ps 77:12; Ps 107:22) 12 For he who avenges blood is mindful of them; he does not forget the cry of the afflicted. 13 Be gracious to me, O Lord! See my affliction from those who hate me, O you who lift me up from the gates of death, (Job 38:17; Ps 4:1) 14 that I may recount all your praises, that in the gates of the daughter of Zion I may rejoice in your salvation. 15 The nations have sunk in the pit that they made; in the net that they hid, their own foot has been caught. (Job 18:8; Ps 7:15) 16 The Lord has made himself known; he has executed judgment; the wicked are snared in the work of their own hands. ^[4] (Ex 7:5; Ex 14:4) 17 The wicked shall return to Sheol, all the nations that forget God. 18 For the needy shall not always be forgotten, and the hope of the poor shall not perish forever. (Pr 23:18; Pr 24:14) 19 Arise, O Lord! Let not man prevail; let the nations be judged before you! (Ps 3:7; Ps 10:18) 20 Put them in fear, O Lord! Let the nations know that they are but men! (Ps 9:19)

1 Ein Lied Davids, für hohe Knabenstimmen.^[1] 2 HERR, von ganzem Herzen will ich dir danken, deine machtvollen Taten allen verkünden. 3 Über dich will ich jubeln und mich freuen, von dir will ich singen, du höchster Gott! 4 Vor dir mussten meine Feinde weichen, sie stürzten und kamen um. 5 Du hast dich auf den Richterstuhl gesetzt und mir zu meinem Recht verholfen, denn deine Urteile sind gerecht. 6 Den Völkern hast du gedroht, die Unheilstifter zerschlagen, ihre Namen für immer ausgetilgt. 7 Völlig vernichtet hast du sie, ihre Städte entvölkert und in Trümmer gelegt, für immer sind sie vergessen. 8 Doch der HERR regiert für alle Zeiten, sein Richterstuhl ist aufgestellt. 9 Der ganzen Welt spricht er gerechtes Urteil, unparteiisch entscheidet er über die Völker. (Ps 96:13) 10 Den Unterdrückten bietet er sicheren Schutz; in schlimmer Zeit sind sie bei ihm geborgen. 11 Alle, die dich kennen, HERR, setzen auf dich ihr Vertrauen. Du lässt niemand im Stich, der deine Nähe sucht. 12 Preist den HERRN mit eurem Lied, ihn, dessen Thron auf dem Zionsberg steht; macht bei den Völkern seine Taten bekannt! (Ps 76:3) 13 Den Hilfeschrei der Armen überhört er nicht, er vergisst nicht die Qual der Verfolgten und zieht die Verfolger zur Rechenschaft. 14 HERR, hab Erbarmen mit mir! Sieh doch, wie sie mir zusetzen mit ihrem Hass! Hol mich weg von den Toren des Totenreichs! (Ps 16:10) 15 Dann stelle ich mich an die Tore deiner Stadt und rühme dich vor allen für das, was du an mir getan hast. 16 Die anderen Völker sind in die Grube gefallen, die sie für uns gegraben hatten. Sie legten ihre Netze aus und haben sich selbst darin gefangen. (Ps 7:16) 17 Der HERR hat seine Macht erwiesen, er hat für Recht gesorgt. Die Unheilstifter sind in die eigene Falle gelaufen. 18 Hinab zu den Toten gehören sie alle, die Völker, die Gott den Rücken kehren! 19 Doch die Armen sind nur scheinbar vergessen, ihre Hoffnung ist nicht für immer dahin. (Wis 3:1) 20 Greif ein, HERR! Lass nicht zu, dass ein Mensch dir die Stirn bietet! Zieh die Völker vor Gericht, sprich ihnen allen das Urteil! 21 Stürze sie in Angst und Schrecken, HERR, zeig ihnen, dass sie nur Menschen sind!
