Trust in the Name of the Lord Our God

1 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob protect you! (Ge 35:3; Ps 59:1; Ps 69:29; Pr 18:10)

2 May he send you help from the sanctuary and give you support from Zion! (2Ch 20:8; Ps 73:17; Ps 128:5) 3 May he remember all your offerings and regard with favor your burnt sacrifices! (Ac 10:4) 4 May he grant you your heart’s desire and fulfill all your plans! (Ps 21:2) 5 May we shout for joy over your salvation, and in the name of our God set up our banners! May the Lord fulfill all your petitions! (Ps 9:14; Ps 60:4; So 6:4; So 6:10)

1 Ein Lied Davids. 2 Der HERR gebe dir Antwort, wenn du in Not gerätst und zu ihm schreist; er selbst, der Gott Jakobs, sei dein Beschützer! 3 Er sende dir Hilfe aus seinem Heiligtum, mächtigen Beistand vom Zionsberg! (Ps 76:3; Isa 14:32) 4 Er nehme deine Opfergaben gnädig an und freue sich über deine Brandopfer! 5 Er erfülle die Wünsche deines Herzens und lasse alle deine Pläne gelingen! (Ps 21:3; Ps 37:4) 6 Dann wollen wir voll Freude jubeln, weil er dir zum Sieg verholfen hat. Den Namen unseres Gottes wollen wir rühmen und unsere Feldzeichen hochheben. Der HERR gebe dir alles, worum du ihn bittest! 7 Nun weiß ich es: Der HERR steht seinem König zur Seite; aus seinem Heiligtum im Himmel gibt er ihm Antwort, seine mächtige Hand greift ein und befreit.
