The Law of the Lord Is Perfect

1 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. (Ps 50:6; Ro 1:19) 

2 Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. 

3 There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. 

4 Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun, (Ec 1:5; Isa 28:10; Ro 10:18) 

5 which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber, and, like a strong man, runs its course with joy. (Jud 5:31; Joe 2:16) 

6 Its rising is from the end of the heavens, and its circuit to the end of them, and there is nothing hidden from its heat. 

7 The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; (Ex 25:16; Ps 23:3; Ps 78:5; Ps 111:7; Ps 119:130; Pr 1:4; Mt 11:25; Ro 7:12; 1Co 1:27; 2Ti 3:15; 2Ti 3:16) 

8 the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; (Ps 12:6; Ps 13:3; Ps 103:18; Ps 111:7; Ps 119:4; Ps 119:27) 

9 the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether. (Ps 119:142; Ps 119:151; Ps 119:160) 

10 More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb. (Job 28:17; Ps 119:72; Ps 119:103; Ps 119:127; Pr 8:10; Pr 8:19; Pr 16:24) 

11 Moreover, by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward. (Pr 29:18) 

12 Who can discern his errors? Declare me innocent from hidden faults. (Le 4:2; Nu 15:27; Job 34:32; Ps 40:12; Ps 90:8; 1Co 4:4) 

13 Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me! Then I shall be blameless, and innocent of great transgression. (Ge 20:6; Nu 15:30; 1Sa 25:33; 1Sa 25:39; Ps 119:133; Ro 6:12; Ro 6:14) 

14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. (Job 19:25; Ps 18:2)

Gottes Größe in der Schöpfung und in seinem Gesetz

1 Ein Lied Davids. 

2 Der Himmel verkündet es: Gott ist groß! Das Heer der Sterne bezeugt seine Schöpfermacht. (Ps 8:4; Ro 1:20) 

3 Ein Tag sagt es dem andern, jede Nacht ruft es der nächsten zu. 

4 Kein Wort wird gesprochen, kein Laut ist zu hören 

5 und doch geht ihr Ruf weit über die Erde bis hin zu ihren äußersten Grenzen. Gott hat der Sonne ein Zelt am Himmel gebaut. (Ro 10:18) 

6 Sie kommt daraus hervor wie der Bräutigam aus dem Brautgemach, wie ein Sieger betritt sie ihre Bahn. 

7 Sie geht auf am einen Ende des Himmels und läuft hinüber bis zum anderen Ende. Nichts bleibt ihrem feurigen Auge verborgen. 

8 Das Gesetz des HERRN ist vollkommen, es gibt Kraft und Leben. Die Mahnungen des HERRN sind gut, sie verhelfen Unwissenden zur Einsicht. 

9 Die Weisungen des HERRN sind zuverlässig, sie erfreuen das Herz. Die Anordnungen des HERRN sind deutlich, sie geben einen klaren Blick. 

10 Die Ehrfurcht vor dem HERRN ist untadelig und hat für immer Bestand. Die Gebote des HERRN sind richtig und ohne Ausnahme gerecht. 

11 Sie sind kostbarer als das feinste Gold, süßer als der beste Honig. 

12 Auch ich höre auf deine Gebote, HERR, denn wer sie befolgt, wird reich belohnt. 

13 Doch wer weiß, wie oft er Schuld auf sich lädt? Strafe mich nicht, wenn ich es unwissend tat! (Nu 15:22) 

14 Bewahre mich vor vermessenen Menschen, damit sie mich nicht auf ihre Seite ziehen. Dann werde ich rein bleiben und frei von schwerer Schuld. 

15 Nimm meine Worte freundlich auf! Lass mein Gebet zu dir dringen, HERR, mein Halt und mein Retter!
