The King Rejoices in the Lord’s Strength

1 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. O Lord, in your strength the king rejoices, and in your salvation how greatly he exults! (Ps 8:2; Ps 9:14; Ps 28:7) 2 You have given him his heart’s desire and have not withheld the request of his lips. (Ps 20:4) 3 For you meet him with rich blessings; you set a crown of fine gold upon his head. (2Sa 12:30; 1Ch 20:2; Ps 19:10; Ps 59:10)

5 His glory is great through your salvation; splendor and majesty you bestow on him. (Ps 8:5; Ps 45:3; Ps 96:6) 6 For you make him most blessed forever;^[1] you make him glad with the joy of your presence. (Ps 16:11; Ps 45:7) 7 For the king trusts in the Lord, and through the steadfast love of the Most High he shall not be moved. (Ps 10:6; Ps 16:8) 8 Your hand will find out all your enemies; your right hand will find out those who hate you. (Isa 10:10) 9 You will make them as a blazing oven when you appear. Die Freude des Königs

1 Ein Lied Davids. 2 HERR, der König freut sich und jubelt laut, denn du bist mächtig und gabst ihm den Sieg. 3 Den Wunsch seines Herzens hast du erfüllt und seine Bitte nicht abgewiesen. (1Ki 3:11; Ps 37:4) 4 Mit Glück und Gelingen beschenktest du ihn und setztest ihm die goldene Krone auf. 5 Um langes Leben bat er – du gewährtest es; du gibst ihm viele reiche Jahre. 6 Sein Ruhm ist groß durch deine Hilfe, mit Pracht und Hoheit umgibst du ihn. 7 Du segnest ihn sein ganzes Leben lang, ihn selbst und alles, was er tut. Durch deine Nähe erfüllst du ihn mit Freude. 8 HERR, der König verlässt sich auf dich. Gott, du Höchster, durch deine Güte steht er sicher und fest. 9 HERR, du wirst alle deine Feinde aufspüren, deine mächtige Hand wird alle treffen, die dich hassen. 10 Du wirst sie vernichten mit lodernden Flammen am Tag, an dem du dich ihnen zeigst. Dein Zorn wird brennen wie ein Feuer, das sie mit Haut und Haaren verschlingt. 11 Feg ihre Brut von der Erde weg, rotte sie aus der Menschheit aus! 12 Sie haben sich gegen dich verschworen und schmieden viele verwegene Pläne; doch erreichen werden sie damit nichts. 13 Denn du richtest deinen Bogen auf sie und jagst sie alle in die Flucht. 14 HERR, zeige dich ihnen in deiner Macht, dann werden wir deine großen Taten besingen!
