1 A Psalm of David. The Lord says to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.” (Jos 10:24; Ps 8:6; Ps 18:38; Mt 22:44; Mt 26:64; Mr 12:36; Lu 20:42; Ac 2:34; 1Co 15:25; Eph 1:20; Eph 1:22; Col 3:1; Heb 1:3; Heb 1:13; Heb 2:8; Heb 8:1; Heb 10:12; Heb 10:13; Heb 12:2; 1Pe 3:22) 2 The Lord sends forth from Zion your mighty scepter. Rule in the midst of your enemies! (Ps 45:6; Ps 68:35; Ps 72:8; Jer 48:17; Eze 19:14; Da 7:13) 3 Your people will offer themselves freely on the day of your power,[1] in holy garments;[2] from the womb of the morning, the dew of your youth will be yours.[3] (Ex 35:29; Jud 5:2; 1Ch 16:29; Ne 11:2; Isa 13:3; Re 19:14) 4 The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind, “You are a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.” (Ge 14:18; Nu 23:19; Ps 132:11; Zec 6:13; Joh 12:34; Heb 5:6; Heb 6:17; Heb 6:20; Heb 7:17; Heb 7:21; Heb 7:24; Heb 7:28) 5 The Lord is at your right hand; he will shatter kings on the day of his wrath. (Ps 2:5; Ps 2:12; Ps 16:8; Ps 68:14; Ro 2:5; Re 6:17) 6 He will execute judgment among the nations, filling them with corpses; he will shatter chiefs[4] over the wide earth. (Ps 68:21; Isa 2:4; Eze 39:17; Joe 3:12; Mic 4:3; Re 19:17) 7 He will drink from the brook by the way; therefore he will lift up his head. (Jud 7:5)

1 Ein Lied Davids. Gott, der HERR, lässt dir sagen, dir, meinem Herrn und König: »Setze dich an meine rechte Seite! Ich will dir deine Feinde unterwerfen, sie als Schemel unter deine Füße legen.« (Ps 2:6; Ps 80:18; Mr 12:36) 2 Der HERR hat dich zum König gemacht auf dem Berg Zion. Von dort aus wird er dein Reich ausweiten; über alle deine Feinde sollst du herrschen! 3 Israels Männer folgen dir willig, wenn du sie zum Kampf rufst. Festlich geschmückt, frisch wie der Morgentau, sammelt sich bei dir die Jugend deines Volkes.[1] 4 Mit einem Schwur sagt der HERR es dir zu: »Du bist mein Priester für immer, nach der Art Melchisedeks.« Er nimmt diese Zusage nicht zurück. (Ge 14:18; Heb 5:6) 5 Der Herr wird dir zur Seite stehen und Könige zu Boden schlagen am Tag seines Zornes. (Ps 2:8) 6 Wenn er Gericht hält über die Völker, werden überall Tote liegen; er vernichtet die Herrscher vieler Länder.[2] 7 Der König trinkt aus dem Bach am Weg, und so gestärkt, behält er den Sieg.
