God Is My Strength and Portion Forever

1 A Psalm of Asaph. Truly God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart. (Ps 24:4; Ps 50:1; Joh 1:47) 2 But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled, my steps had nearly slipped. 3 For I was envious of the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. (Job 21:7; Ps 37:1; Ps 37:7; Ps 92:7; Pr 23:17; Jer 12:1)

4 For they have no pangs until death; their bodies are fat and sleek. 5 They are not in trouble as others are; they are not stricken like the rest of mankind. (Isa 53:4) 6 Therefore pride is their necklace; violence covers them as a garment. (Jud 8:26; Ps 109:18) 7 Their eyes swell out through fatness; their hearts overflow with follies. (Job 15:27) 8 They scoff and speak with malice; loftily they threaten oppression. Anfechtung durch Frevler und Erfahrung der Nähe Gottes

1 Ein Psalm Asafs. Fürwahr, Gott ist gut für Israel, für alle, die reinen Herzens sind. 2 Ich aber - fast wären meine Füße gestrauchelt, beinahe wären ausgeglitten meine Schritte. (Ps 37:1; Jer 12:1) 3 Denn ich habe mich über die Prahler ereifert, als ich das Wohlergehen der Frevler sah: (Job 21:7) 4 Sie leiden ja keine Qualen, ihr Leib ist gesund und wohlgenährt.^[1] 5 Sie kennen nicht die Mühsal der Sterblichen, sind nicht geplagt wie andere Menschen. 6 Darum ist Hochmut ihr Halsschmuck, wie ein Gewand umhüllt sie Gewalttat. (Ps 17:10) 7 Sie sehen kaum aus den Augen vor Fett, ihr Herz läuft über von bösen Plänen. (Job 15:27; Jer 5:28) 8 Sie höhnen und reden Böses, Unterdrückung reden sie von oben herab. 9 Sie reißen ihr Maul bis zum Himmel auf und lassen auf Erden ihrer Zunge freien Lauf. 10 Darum wendet sich das Volk ihnen zu, das Wasser ihrer Worte schlürfen sie gierig.^[2] 11 Sie sagen: Wie sollte Gott davon wissen? Gibt es Wissen beim Höchsten? (Ps 10:11) 12 Siehe, so sind die Frevler: Immer im Glück, häufen sie Reichtum auf Reichtum. (Ps 17:14) 13 Fürwahr, umsonst bewahrte ich lauter mein Herz und wusch meine Hände in Unschuld. (Ps 26:6; Mal 3:14) 14 Und doch war ich alle Tage geplagt und wurde jeden Morgen gezüchtigt. (Job 7:18) 15 Hätte ich gesagt: Ich will reden wie sie, siehe, ich hätte das Geschlecht deiner Kinder verraten. 16 Ich dachte nach, um dies zu begreifen, Mühsal war es in meinen Augen, 17 bis ich eintrat in Gottes Heiligtum und einsah, wie es mit ihnen zu Ende geht. 18 Fürwahr, du stellst sie auf schlüpfrigen Grund, du lässt sie in Täuschungen fallen. 19 Wie werden sie in einem Augenblick zum Entsetzen, werden dahingerafft, nehmen ein Ende mit Schrecken. (Ps 49:15) 20 Wie einen Traum, nach dem Erwachen, mein Herr, verachtest du ihr Schattengebilde, wenn du aufstehst.^[3] (Job 20:8) 21 Ja, mein Herz war bitter und Schmerz bohrte mir in den Nieren. 22 Ich war ein Tor ohne Einsicht, wie Vieh bin ich gewesen bei dir; 23 aber ich bin doch beständig bei dir, du hast meine Rechte ergriffen. (Ps 121:5; Ro 8:35) 24 Du leitest mich nach deinem Ratschluss, danach nimmst du mich auf in Herrlichkeit. (Ps 16:10; Ps 49:16) 25 Wen habe ich im Himmel außer dir? Pourquoi les méchants réussissent-ils ?

1 Psaume d’Asaph^[1]. Oui, Dieu est bon pour Israël, pour tous ceux qui ont le cœur pur. (Ps 50:1) 2 Pourtant, il s’en fallut de peu ╵que mes pieds ne trébuchent, un rien de plus, et je tombais. 3 J’étais jaloux des arrogants en voyant la tranquillité ╵des gens méchants. 4 Car ils sont exempts de tourments; ╵jusqu’à leur mort^[2] et ont de l’embonpoint. 5 Ils passent à côté des peines ╵qui sont le lot commun des hommes. Ils ne subissent pas les maux ╵qui frappent les humains. 6 Aussi s’ornent-ils d’arrogance ╵comme on porte un collier, ils s’enveloppent de violence ╵comme d’un vêtement, 7 leurs yeux sont pétillants ╵dans leur visage plein de graisse, les mauvais désirs de leur cœur ╵débordent sans mesure. 8 Ils sont moqueurs, ╵ils parlent méchamment et, sur un ton hautain, ╵menacent d’opprimer. 9 Leur bouche s’en prend au ciel même, leur langue sévit sur la terre. 10 Aussi le peuple les suit-il, buvant à longs traits leurs paroles, 11 tout en disant: « Dieu? Que sait-il? Celui qui est là-haut ╵connaît-il quelque chose? » 12 Voilà comment sont les méchants: toujours tranquilles, ╵ils accumulent les richesses. 13 Alors, c’est donc en vain ╵que je suis resté pur ╵au fond de moi, que j’ai lavé mes mains ╵pour les conserver innocentes! 14 Tous les jours, je subis des coups, je suis châtié chaque matin! 15 Si je disais: « Parlons comme eux », alors je trahirais tes fils. 16 Je me suis mis à réfléchir: ╵pour tenter de comprendre; cela était pour moi ╵un sujet de tourment, 17 jusqu’à ce que je me rende au sanctuaire de Dieu^[3]. Alors j’ai réfléchi ╵au sort qui les attend. 18 Car, en fait, tu les mets ╵sur un terrain glissant, tu les entraînes vers la ruine. 19 Comme soudain ╵les voilà dévastés! Ils sont détruits ╵et emportés par l’épouvante. 20 Comme les images du rêve ╵s’évanouissant au réveil, Seigneur, quand tu interviendras, ╵tu feras d’eux bien peu de cas. 21 Oui, quand j’avais le cœur amer et que je me tourmentais intérieurement, 22 j’étais un sot, un ignorant, je me comportais avec toi ╵comme une bête. 23 Mais je suis toujours avec toi, et tu m’as saisi la main droite, 24 par ton conseil, tu me conduis, puis tu me prendras dans la gloire. 25 Qui ai-je au ciel, si ce n’est toi? Et que désirer d’autre ╵sur cette terre ╵car je suis avec toi? 26 Mon corps peut s’épuiser ╵et mon cœur défaillir, Dieu reste mon rocher, ╵et mon bien précieux pour toujours. 27 Qui t’abandonne se perdra, et tu anéantiras ╵tous ceux qui te sont infidèles. 28 Tandis que mon bonheur à moi, ╵c’est d’être près de Dieu. J’ai pris le Seigneur, l’Eternel, ╵comme refuge et je raconterai toutes ses œuvres.
