1Then he said to Moses, “Come up to the Lord, you and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and worship from afar. (Ex 6:23; Ex 28:1; Nu 11:16)2Moses alone shall come near to the Lord, but the others shall not come near, and the people shall not come up with him.” (Ex 24:13; Ex 24:15; Ex 24:18)3Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord and all the rules.[1] And all the people answered with one voice and said, “All the words that the Lord has spoken we will do.” (Ex 19:8; Ex 21:1; De 5:27)4And Moses wrote down all the words of the Lord. He rose early in the morning and built an altar at the foot of the mountain, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel. 1Und ⟨der HERR⟩ sprach zu Mose: Steig zum HERRN herauf, du und Aaron, Nadab und Abihu und siebzig von den Ältesten Israels, und betet an[1] von ferne! (Ex 6:23; Ex 24:9; Nu 11:16; Eze 8:11)2Aber Mose allein soll zum HERRN herantreten, sie aber dürfen nicht herantreten, und das Volk soll nicht mit ihm heraufsteigen. (Ex 19:12)3Darauf kam Mose und erzählte dem Volk alle Worte des HERRN und alle Rechtsbestimmungen. Und das ganze Volk antwortete mit einer Stimme und sagte[2]: Alle Worte, die der HERR geredet hat, wollen wir tun. (Ex 19:8; 2Ch 15:14)4Da schrieb Mose alle Worte des HERRN auf. Am ⟨nächsten⟩ Morgen aber machte er sich früh auf und errichtete einen Altar unten am Berg und zwölf Denksteine nach den zwölf Stämmen Israels. 9Da stiegen Mose und Aaron, Nadab und Abihu und siebzig von den Ältesten Israels hinauf, (Jud 13:22; 1Ki 22:19; Isa 6:1)10und sie sahen den Gott Israels. Und unter seinen Füßen war es wie Arbeit in Saphirplatten und wie der Himmel selbst an Klarheit. (Eze 1:26)11Gegen die Edlen der Söhne Israel aber streckte er seine Hand nicht aus, sondern sie schauten Gott und aßen und tranken. (Ge 32:31)

12Und der HERR sprach zu Mose: Steig zu mir herauf auf den Berg und sei dort, damit ich dir die steinernen Tafeln, das Gesetz und das Gebot gebe, das ich geschrieben habe, um sie zu unterweisen! (Ex 31:18; Ex 32:1; De 5:22; Ne 9:14; Ps 19:12; 2Co 3:3)13Da machte Mose sich mit seinem Diener Josua auf, und Mose stieg auf den Berg Gottes.
