1So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. 11Geliebte, ich ermahne ⟨euch⟩ als Beisassen[9] und Fremdlinge[10], dass ihr euch der fleischlichen Begierden, die gegen die Seele streiten, enthaltet, (1Ch 29:15; Ro 13:14; Ga 5:17; Heb 11:13; 1Pe 1:1)12und führt euren Wandel unter den Nationen gut, damit sie, worin sie gegen euch als Übeltäter reden, aus den guten Werken, die sie anschauen, Gott verherrlichen am Tage der Heimsuchung! (Mt 5:16; 1Th 4:12; 1Pe 3:16)13Ordnet euch aller menschlichen Einrichtung unter um des Herrn willen; sei es dem König als Oberherrn (Pr 24:21)14oder den Statthaltern als denen, die von ihm gesandt werden zur Bestrafung der Übeltäter, aber zum Lob derer, die Gutes tun!
