1 La balanza falsa es abominación a YHVH, Pero la pesa cabal es su complacencia. 2 Si irrumpe la soberbia, sobreviene la deshonra, Pero la sabiduría acompaña a los humildes. 3 La integridad de los rectos los encamina, Pero a los pecadores los destruye su propia maldad. 4 De nada sirven riquezas en el día de la ira, Pero la justicia librará de la Muerte. 5 La justicia del justo le allana el camino, Pero el impío caerá por su propia impiedad. 6 La rectitud del justo lo librará, Pero el traidor quedará atrapado en su codicia. 7 Muerto el impío, muerta su esperanza: La expectación de los malvados perecerá. 8 El justo es librado de la tribulación, Y el impío entra en lugar suyo. 9 El hipócrita hunde al prójimo con su boca, Pero los honrados se libran porque lo saben. 10 La ciudad festeja el éxito de los justos, Y cuando fracasan los impíos, canta de júbilo. 11 Con la bendición de los rectos la ciudad prospera, Pero la boca de los impíos la arruina. 12 Quien desprecia al prójimo no tiene juicio, Pero el prudente calla. 13 El que anda chismeando, descubre el secreto, Pero el hombre de fiar se guarda el asunto. 14 Por falta de dirección se arruina un pueblo, Pero en la multitud de consejeros hay seguridad. 15 Quien sale fiador del extraño se perjudica, Pero el que aborrece las fianzas vive seguro. 16 La mujer agraciada adquiere honra, Así como los fuertes adquieren riquezas. 17 El misericordioso hace bien a su alma, Pero el cruel daña su propia carne. 18 El malvado logra ganancias engañosas, Pero quien siembra justicia tiene galardón seguro. 19 La firmeza de rectitud tiende a la vida, Pero quien anda tras la maldad, persigue su propia muerte. 20 Abominación a YHVH son los de corazón perverso, Pero los de camino intachable son su deleite. 21 Con toda certeza, el malo no quedará sin castigo, Pero la descendencia de los justos será librada. 22 Como zarcillo de oro en hocico de un cerdo, Es la mujer hermosa que carece de discreción. 23 El anhelo de los justos es sólo el bien, Pero la expectativa de los impíos es la ira. 24 Hay quienes reparten, y más se les añade, Y hay quienes retienen más de lo justo, y terminan en la indigencia. 25 El alma generosa será saciada, Y el que sacia a otros, también él será saciado. 26 El que acapara trigo será maldecido por el pueblo, Pero la cabeza de quien lo vende obtendrá bendición. 27 El que busca el bien, busca el favor divino, Pero el que busca el mal, éste le sobrevendrá. 28 El que confía en sus riquezas, caerá, Pero los justos reverdecerán como el follaje. 29 El que conturba su casa, heredará el viento, Y el necio se tornará esclavo del sabio de corazón. 30 El fruto del justo es árbol de vida, Y el que gana almas, es sabio. 31 He aquí el justo será recompensado en la tierra, ¡Cuánto más el malo y el pecador!
