1 And again Jesus spoke to them in parables, saying, (Mt 13:34) 2 “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a wedding feast for his son, (Lu 14:16; Re 19:7) 3 and sent his servants[1] to call those who were invited to the wedding feast, but they would not come. (Es 6:14; Pr 9:3; Pr 9:5) 4 Again he sent other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “See, I have prepared my dinner, my oxen and my fat calves have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding feast.”’ (Pr 9:2; Mt 21:36; Lu 11:38; Joh 21:12; Joh 21:15) 5 But they paid no attention and went off, one to his farm, another to his business, (Heb 2:3) 6 while the rest seized his servants, treated them shamefully, and killed them. (Mt 21:35; Lu 18:32; Ac 14:5; 1Th 2:2) 7 The king was angry, and he sent his troops and destroyed those murderers and burned their city. (Mt 21:41; Lu 19:27) 8 Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding feast is ready, but those invited were not worthy. (Mt 10:11; Lu 20:35; Ac 13:46; Re 3:4) 9 Go therefore to the main roads and invite to the wedding feast as many as you find.’ 10 And those servants went out into the roads and gathered all whom they found, both bad and good. So the wedding hall was filled with guests. (Mt 13:47) 11 “But when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw there a man who had no wedding garment. (Re 19:8; Re 22:14) 12 And he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless. (Mt 20:13; Mt 26:50) 13 Then the king said to the attendants, ‘Bind him hand and foot and cast him into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ (Mt 8:12) 14 For many are called, but few are chosen.” (Re 17:14) 15 Then the Pharisees went and plotted how to entangle him in his words. (Mr 12:13; Lu 11:54; Lu 20:20) 16 And they sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that you are true and teach the way of God truthfully, and you do not care about anyone’s opinion, for you are not swayed by appearances.[2] (Mr 2:18; Mr 3:6; Mr 8:15; Joh 3:2; Ac 10:34; Ac 13:10; Ac 18:26) 17 Tell us, then, what you think. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?” (Mt 17:25; Lu 2:1; Lu 3:1) 18 But Jesus, aware of their malice, said, “Why put me to the test, you hypocrites? (Joh 8:6) 19 Show me the coin for the tax.” And they brought him a denarius.[3] 20 And Jesus said to them, “Whose likeness and inscription is this?” 21 They said, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Therefore render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” (Ro 13:7) 22 When they heard it, they marveled. And they left him and went away. (Mr 12:12) 23 The same day Sadducees came to him, who say that there is no resurrection, and they asked him a question, (Mt 3:7; Mt 16:1; Mt 22:34; Ac 4:1; Ac 4:2; Ac 5:17; Ac 23:6; Ac 23:8) 24 saying, “Teacher, Moses said, ‘If a man dies having no children, his brother must marry the widow and raise up offspring for his brother.’ (De 25:5) 25 Now there were seven brothers among us. The first married and died, and having no offspring left his wife to his brother. 26 So too the second and third, down to the seventh. 27 After them all, the woman died. 28 In the resurrection, therefore, of the seven, whose wife will she be? For they all had her.” 29 But Jesus answered them, “You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God. (Joh 20:9; 1Co 6:14) 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. (Mt 24:38; Lu 17:27) 31 And as for the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was said to you by God: (Mt 21:16) 32 ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not God of the dead, but of the living.” (Ex 3:6; Ac 7:32) 33 And when the crowd heard it, they were astonished at his teaching. (Mt 7:28) 34 But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. (Mt 22:23; Mr 12:28) 35 And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. (Mt 22:18; Lu 7:30; Lu 10:25) 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. (De 6:5; Lu 10:27) 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. (Le 19:18; Mt 19:19; 1Jo 4:21) 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” (Mt 7:12; Ro 13:8; Ro 13:10; Ga 5:14) 41 Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question, (Mt 22:34; Mr 12:35; Lu 20:41) 42 saying, “What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “The son of David.” (Mt 1:1; Mt 1:17) 43 He said to them, “How is it then that David, in the Spirit, calls him Lord, saying, (2Sa 23:2; Re 1:10; Re 4:2) 44 “‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet”’? (Ps 110:1; Ac 2:34; 1Co 15:25; Heb 1:13; Heb 10:13) 45 If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?” (Ro 1:3) 46 And no one was able to answer him a word, nor from that day did anyone dare to ask him any more questions. (Mr 12:34; Lu 14:6; Lu 20:40)

1 И Исус пак започна да им говори с притчи, като казваше: (Lu 14:16; Re 19:7; Re 19:9) 2 Небесното царство прилича на цар, който направи сватба на сина си. 3 Той разпрати слугите си да повикат поканените на сватбата; но те не искаха да дойдат. 4 Пак изпрати други слуги, като им каза: Кажете на поканените: Ето, приготвих обяда си; телетата ми и угоените животни са заклани и всичко е готово; елате на сватба. (Pr 9:2) 5 Но те пренебрегнаха поканата и си отидоха, всеки по своя път: един на своята нива, а друг на търговията си; 6 а останалите хванаха слугите му и безсрамно ги оскърбиха и убиха. (Lu 19:27) 7 И царят се разгневи, изпрати войските си и погуби онези убийци, и изгори града им. 8 Тогава каза на слугите си: Сватбата е готова, но поканените не бяха достойни. (Mt 8:12) 14 Защото мнозина са призовани, а малцина са избрани. (Mt 20:16) 15 Тогава фарисеите отидоха и се съветваха как да Го уловят в казаното от Него. (Mr 12:13; Lu 20:20) 16 И пратиха при Него учениците си, заедно с иродианите, да кажат: Учителю, знаем, че си искрен, учиш в истина Божия път и не Те е грижа от никого, защото не гледаш на лицето на човеците. 17 Затова, кажи ни: Ти как мислиш? Правилно ли е да даваме данък на Цезаря или не? 18 А Исус разбра лукавщината им и каза: Защо Ме изпитвате[1], лицемери? 19 Покажете ми данъчната монета. И те Му донесоха един динарий. 20 Той ги попита: Чий е този образ и надпис? 21 Казаха Му: На Цезаря. Тогава им каза: Като е така, отдавайте цезаревото на Цезаря, а Божието на Бога. (Mt 17:25; Mr 12:17; Ro 13:7) 22 И като чуха това, те се учудиха и като Го оставиха, си отидоха. 23 В същия ден дойдоха при Него садукеи, които казват, че няма възкресение, и Го попитаха: (Mr 12:18; Lu 20:27; Ac 23:8) 24 Учителю, Моисей е казал: Ако някой умре бездетен, брат му да се ожени за жена му и да създаде потомство на брат си. (De 25:5; Mr 12:19; Lu 20:28) 25 А между нас имаше седем братя; и първият се ожени и умря; и като нямаше потомство, остави жена си на брат си; 26 също и вторият, и третият до седмия. 27 А след всички тях умря и жената. 28 И така, при възкресението на кого от седмината ще бъде жена, защото те всички я имаха? 29 А Исус им отговори: Заблуждавате се, като не познавате Писанията, нито Божията сила. (Joh 20:9) 30 Защото при възкресението нито се женят, нито се омъжват, но са като Божии ангели на небето. (1Co 15:44; 1Jo 3:2) 31 А за възкресението на мъртвите не сте ли чели онова, което Бог ви говори: 32 „Аз съм Бог на Авраам, Бог на Исаак и Бог на Яков“? Той не е Бог на мъртвите, а на живите. (Ex 3:6; Ex 3:16; Mr 12:26; Lu 20:37; Ac 7:32; Heb 11:16) 33 И множеството, като чу това, се чудеше на учението Му. (Mt 7:28) 34 А фарисеите, като чуха, че затворил устата на садукеите, събраха се заедно. (Mr 12:28; Lu 10:25) 35 И един от тях, законник, за да Го изпита, Му зададе въпроса: (Mr 12:28; Lu 10:25) 36 Учителю, коя е най-голямата заповед в закона? 37 А Той му каза: „Да възлюбиш Господа, твоя Бог, с цялото си сърце, с цялата си душа и с всичкия си ум.“ (De 6:5; De 10:12; De 30:6; Mic 6:8; Mt 5:43; Mr 12:30; Lu 10:27) 38 Това е първа и най-голяма заповед. 39 А втора, подобна на нея, е тази: „Да възлюбиш ближния си, както себе си.“ (Le 19:18; Mt 19:19; Mr 12:31; Lu 10:27; Ro 13:9; Ga 5:14; Jas 2:8) 40 На тези две заповеди се крепят целият закон и пророците. Казаха Му: На Давид. 43 Каза им: Тогава как Давид чрез Духа Го нарича Господ, като казва: 44 „Каза Господ на моя Господ: Седи отдясно на Мене, докато положа враговете Ти под краката Ти“? (Ps 110:1; Lu 20:42; Ac 2:34; 1Co 15:25; Heb 1:13; Heb 10:12; Heb 10:13) 45 И така, ако Давид го нарича Господ, как тогава Той е негов син? 46 И никой не можеше да Му отговори нито дума; нито пък дръзна вече някой от този ден да Му задава въпроси.
