The Testimony of John the Baptist

19 And this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?” (Joh 3:26; Joh 8:25) 20 He confessed, and did not deny, but confessed, “I am not the Christ.” (Lu 3:15; Joh 1:8; Joh 3:28; Ac 13:25)

Jesus Calls the First Disciples

35 The next day again John was standing with two of his disciples, 36 and he looked at Jesus as he walked by and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God!” (Joh 1:29) 37 The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus. 38 Jesus turned and saw them following and said to them, “What are you seeking?” And they said to him, “Rabbi” (which means Teacher), “where are you staying?” (Mr 10:51; Joh 1:49; Joh 3:2; Joh 3:26; Joh 6:25; Joh 18:4; Joh 18:7; Joh 20:15; Joh 20:16)

39 He said to them, “Come and you will see.” So they came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day, for it was about the tenth hour.^[10] 40 One of the two who heard John speak and followed Jesus^[11] was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. Jesus Calls Philip and Nathanael

43 The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, “Follow me.” (Joh 1:28; Joh 1:35; Joh 2:1) 44 Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.
