Weitere Mahnung an Israel und erneute Verheißung der Rettung
1Hört dies, Haus Jakob, die mit dem Namen Israel benannt und aus den Wassern[1] Judas hervorgegangen sind, die beim Namen des HERRN schwören und den Gott Israels bekennen, ⟨doch⟩ nicht in Wahrheit und nicht in Gerechtigkeit; (3Mo 19,12; 2Kön 5,20; Ps 68,27; Jes 46,12; Jes 51,1; Jer 5,2; Mi 2,7; Zef 1,5)2ja, nach der heiligen Stadt nennen sie sich, und sie stützen sich[2] auf den Gott Israels, HERR der Heerscharen ist sein Name: (Jes 51,15; Jes 52,1; Jer 7,4; Mi 3,11; Röm 2,17)3Das Frühere habe ich längst schon verkündet. Aus meinem Mund ist es hervorgegangen, und ich habe es hören lassen; plötzlich tat ich es, und es traf ein. (Jos 21,45; Jes 46,9)4Weil ich wusste, dass du hart bist und dass dein Nacken eine eiserne Sehne und deine Stirn aus Erz ist, (2Mo 33,3; Jes 30,9; Jer 5,3; Hes 2,4)5so habe ich es dir schon längst verkündet, ehe es eintraf, habe ich es dich hören lassen, damit du nicht sagst: Mein Götze hat es getan, und mein Götterbild und mein gegossenes Bild haben es befohlen. (Jes 42,8; Jes 43,19)6Du hast es gehört, betrachte es ⟨nun⟩ alles! Und ihr, wollt ihr es nicht verkünden?[3] Von nun an lasse ich dich Neues hören und Verborgenes, das du nicht kanntest. (Jes 42,8; Jes 43,19)7Jetzt ist es geschaffen und nicht ⟨schon⟩ früher und vor dem ⟨heutigen⟩ Tag. Und du hast nicht davon gehört[4], damit du nicht sagst: Siehe, ich habe es gewusst.8Du hast es weder gehört noch gewusst, noch war dein Ohr früher ⟨schon⟩ geöffnet[5]. Denn ich wusste, dass du völlig treulos bist und dass man dich »Abtrünnig von Mutterleib an« genannt hat. (5Mo 9,24; 5Mo 31,16; Jes 42,20)9Wegen meines Namens halte ich meinen Zorn zurück, und ⟨wegen⟩ meines Ruhmes bezähme ich mich dir zugute, um dich nicht auszurotten. (Ps 78,38; Ps 79,9; Ps 106,8; Hes 36,21)10Siehe, ich habe dich geläutert, doch nicht im Silber⟨schmelzofen⟩; ich habe dich geprüft im Schmelzofen des Elends. (Ps 66,10; Sach 13,9; 1Petr 4,12)11Um meinetwillen, um meinetwillen will ich es tun – denn wie würde mein Name[6] entweiht werden! –, und meine Ehre gebe ich keinem andern. (5Mo 32,27; Ps 25,7; Ps 115,1; Jes 37,35; Jes 42,8; Jes 43,25; Hes 36,22)12Höre auf mich, Jakob, und Israel, mein Berufener! Ich bin, der da ist[7], ich der Erste, ich auch der Letzte. (Jes 41,4; Jes 44,1)13Ja, meine Hand hat die Grundmauern der Erde gelegt und meine Rechte den Himmel ausgespannt; ich rufe ihnen zu: allesamt stehen sie da. (Jes 40,12; Jes 44,24; Röm 4,17)14Versammelt euch, ihr alle, und hört![8] Wer unter ihnen hat dies verkündet? Der HERR liebt ihn[9]. Er wird an Babel ausführen, was ihm gefällt, und sein Arm[10] ⟨wird⟩ die Chaldäer ⟨richten⟩.[11] (1Mo 49,1; Jes 41,22; Jes 44,28; Jes 45,13; Jer 50,21)15Ich, ich selbst habe geredet, ja, ich habe ihn gerufen. Ich habe ihn kommen lassen, und sein Weg wird gelingen. (Jes 44,28; Jes 45,13; Jer 50,21)16Tretet her zu mir, hört dies! Ich habe von Anfang an nicht im Verborgenen geredet; von der Zeit an, da es geschah, bin ich da. – Und nun hat der Herr, HERR, mich gesandt und seinen Geist ⟨verliehen⟩[12]. – (Jes 45,19; Jes 61,1)17So spricht der HERR, dein Erlöser, der Heilige Israels: Ich bin der HERR, dein Gott, der dich lehrt zu ⟨deinem⟩ Nutzen, der dich leitet auf dem Weg, den du gehen sollst. (Jos 3,4; Ps 32,8; Ps 73,24; Jes 30,21; Jes 43,14; Jes 49,7)18Ach, hättest du doch auf meine Gebote geachtet! Dann wäre wie der Strom dein Friede gewesen und deine Gerechtigkeit wie die Wogen des Meeres. (Jes 54,13; Jes 66,12)19Dann wäre wie der Sand deine Nachkommenschaft gewesen und die Sprösslinge deines Leibes wie seine Körner. Ihr[13] Name würde nicht ausgerottet und nicht ausgetilgt werden vor meinem Angesicht. (1Mo 22,17; 5Mo 9,14)20Zieht aus Babel fort! Flieht aus Chaldäa! Mit jubelnder Stimme verkündet, lasst es hören, breitet es aus bis an die Enden der Erde! Sprecht: Erlöst hat der HERR seinen Knecht Jakob! (Esr 2,1; Jes 43,1; Jes 52,11; Jer 31,11; Jer 50,8; Sach 2,10; Sach 10,8; Offb 18,4)21Und sie dürsteten nicht, als er sie durch die Trümmerstätten führte. Wasser aus dem Felsen ließ er ihnen rinnen, er spaltete den Felsen, und Wasser floss heraus. – (2Mo 17,6; Neh 9,15; Jes 43,19)22Kein Friede den Gottlosen, spricht der HERR. – (2Kön 9,18; Jes 57,20; Jes 66,24)
1‘Listen to this, you descendants of Jacob, you who are called by the name of Israel and come from the line of Judah, you who take oaths in the name of the Lord and invoke the God of Israel – but not in truth or righteousness –2you who call yourselves citizens of the holy city and claim to rely on the God of Israel – the Lord Almighty is his name:3I foretold the former things long ago, my mouth announced them and I made them known; then suddenly I acted, and they came to pass.4For I knew how stubborn you were; your neck muscles were iron, your forehead was bronze.5Therefore I told you these things long ago; before they happened I announced them to you so that you could not say, “My images brought them about; my wooden image and metal god ordained them.”6You have heard these things; look at them all. Will you not admit them? ‘From now on I will tell you of new things, of hidden things unknown to you.7They are created now, and not long ago; you have not heard of them before today. So you cannot say, “Yes, I knew of them.”8You have neither heard nor understood; from of old your ears have not been open. Well do I know how treacherous you are; you were called a rebel from birth.9For my own name’s sake I delay my wrath; for the sake of my praise I hold it back from you, so as not to destroy you completely.10See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.11For my own sake, for my own sake, I do this. How can I let myself be defamed? I will not yield my glory to another.

12‘Listen to me, Jacob, Israel, whom I have called: I am he; I am the first and I am the last.13My own hand laid the foundations of the earth, and my right hand spread out the heavens; when I summon them, they all stand up together.14‘Come together, all of you, and listen: which of the idols has foretold these things? The Lord’s chosen ally will carry out his purpose against Babylon; his arm will be against the Babylonians.[1]15I, even I, have spoken; yes, I have called him. I will bring him, and he will succeed in his mission.16‘Come near me and listen to this: ‘From the first announcement I have not spoken in secret; at the time it happens, I am there.’ And now the Sovereign Lord has sent me, endowed with his Spirit.17This is what the Lord says – your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: ‘I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.18If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your well-being like the waves of the sea.19Your descendants would have been like the sand, your children like its numberless grains; their name would never be blotted out nor destroyed from before me.’20Leave Babylon, flee from the Babylonians! Announce this with shouts of joy and proclaim it. Send it out to the ends of the earth; say, ‘The Lord has redeemed his servant Jacob.’21They did not thirst when he led them through the deserts; he made water flow for them from the rock; he split the rock and water gushed out.22‘There is no peace,’ says the Lord, ‘for the wicked.’
