Die Tempelrede und ihre Folgen für Jeremia – Justizmord am Propheten Uria
1Im Anfang der Regierung Jojakims, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs von Juda, geschah von dem HERRN dieses Wort: (1Chr 3,15; 2Chr 36,4)2So spricht der HERR: Tritt in den Vorhof des Hauses des HERRN und zu allen Städten Judas, die kommen, um im Haus des HERRN anzubeten, rede all die Worte, die ich dir geboten habe, zu ihnen zu reden; lass kein Wort weg[1]! (5Mo 4,2; Jer 1,7; Jer 7,2; Jer 19,14)3Vielleicht werden sie hören und jeder von seinem bösen Weg umkehren; dann werde ich mich des Unheils gereuen lassen, das ich ihnen zu tun gedenke wegen der Bosheit ihrer Taten. (Jer 18,7; Jer 26,19; Hes 12,3; Hes 18,21)4Und sage zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR: Wenn ihr nicht auf mich hört, dass ihr in meinem Gesetz lebt[2], das ich euch vorgelegt habe, (5Mo 28,15)5⟨und⟩ dass ihr auf die Worte meiner Knechte, der Propheten, hört, die ich zu euch sende, früh mich aufmachend und sendend, aber ihr habt nicht gehört; (Jer 7,13; Jer 25,3)6dann will ich ⟨mit⟩ diesem Haus wie ⟨mit⟩ Silo verfahren, und diese Stadt will ich zum Fluch machen für alle Nationen der Erde. (2Kön 22,19; Jer 7,12; Jer 24,9; Jer 29,18; Jer 44,22; Kla 2,15)7Und die Priester und die Propheten und das ganze Volk hörten Jeremia diese Worte im Haus des HERRN reden.8Und es geschah, als Jeremia alles zu Ende geredet, was der HERR geboten hatte, zum ganzen Volk zu reden, da ergriffen ihn die Priester und die Propheten und das ganze Volk und sagten: Du musst sterben! (Jer 1,19; Am 7,10)9Warum hast du im Namen des HERRN geweissagt: Dieses Haus wird wie Silo werden, und diese Stadt wird in Trümmern liegen, ohne Bewohner? Und das ganze Volk versammelte sich gegen Jeremia im Haus des HERRN. (Jer 32,3; Am 7,10)10Und als die Obersten von Juda diese Worte hörten, gingen sie aus dem Haus des Königs hinauf zum Haus des HERRN und setzten sich in den Eingang des neuen Tores ⟨im Haus⟩ des HERRN. (2Chr 27,3; Jer 20,2; Jer 36,12)11Da sagten die Priester und die Propheten zu den Obersten und zum ganzen Volk: Dieser Mann ⟨verdient⟩ das Todesurteil, denn er hat gegen diese Stadt geweissagt, wie ihr mit euren ⟨eigenen⟩ Ohren gehört habt. (Jer 38,4; Apg 6,13; Apg 21,28)12Jeremia aber sagte zu den Obersten und zum ganzen Volk: Der HERR hat mich gesandt, gegen dieses Haus und gegen diese Stadt all die Worte zu weissagen, die ihr gehört habt. (Hes 21,7; Am 3,8)13Und nun bessert[3] eure Wege und Taten und hört auf die Stimme des HERRN, eures Gottes: dann wird der HERR sich des Unheils gereuen lassen, das er über euch geredet hat! (Jer 7,3)14Ich aber, siehe, ich bin in eurer Hand. Tut ⟨mit⟩ mir, wie es gut und recht ist in euren Augen. (Jos 9,25)15Doch sollt ihr eindeutig wissen, dass ihr, wenn ihr mich tötet, unschuldiges Blut auf euch bringt und auf diese Stadt und auf ihre Bewohner. Denn in Wahrheit, der HERR hat mich zu euch gesandt, all diese Worte vor euren Ohren zu reden. (4Mo 35,33; 2Chr 24,22)16Da sagten die Obersten und das ganze Volk zu den Priestern und zu den Propheten: Dieser Mann hat das Todesurteil nicht ⟨verdient⟩; denn er hat im Namen des HERRN, unseres Gottes, zu uns geredet. (Jak 5,10)17Und es erhoben sich Männer von den Ältesten des Landes, und sie sagten[4] zu der ganzen Versammlung des Volkes:18Micha, der Moreschtiter[5], hat in den Tagen Hiskias, des Königs von Juda, geweissagt und zum ganzen Volk Juda gesprochen: So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen: »Zion wird zum Acker gepflügt, und Jerusalem wird zu Trümmerhaufen und der Berg des Hauses[6] zu Waldeshöhen.« (Mi 1,1; Mi 3,12)19Haben ihn etwa Hiskia, der König von Juda, und ganz Juda getötet? Hat er[7] nicht den HERRN gefürchtet und den HERRN angefleht[8], sodass der HERR sich des Unheils gereuen ließ, das er über sie geredet hatte? Und wir wollen ein so großes Unrecht[9] gegen unser Leben tun? (2Mo 32,14; 2Chr 32,26; Jer 26,3; Apg 5,39)20⟨Damals⟩ gab es noch einen Mann, der im Namen des HERRN weissagte, Uria, der Sohn des Schemaja, aus Kirjat-Jearim; und er weissagte gegen diese Stadt und gegen dieses Land, ganz wie ⟨es⟩ die Worte Jeremias ⟨taten⟩. (1Sam 6,21)21Als aber der König Jojakim und all seine Heerführer und alle Obersten seine Worte hörten, suchte der König ihn zu töten. Und als Uria es hörte, fürchtete er sich und floh, und er kam nach Ägypten. (1Kön 18,10)22Da sandte der König Jojakim Männer nach Ägypten, Elnatan, den Sohn des Achbor, und ⟨einige⟩ Männer mit ihm nach Ägypten. (2Kön 22,12; Jer 29,3; Jer 36,12; Jer 39,14; Hes 8,11)23Und sie holten Uria aus Ägypten und führten ihn zum König Jojakim. Und er erschlug ihn mit dem Schwert und warf seine Leiche auf die Gräber der Kinder des Volkes[10]. (2Kön 23,37; Jer 22,17; Mt 23,37)24Doch die Hand Ahikams, des Sohnes des Schafan, war mit Jeremia, sodass man ihn nicht in die Hand des Volkes gab, ihn zu töten. (2Kön 22,12; Jer 15,21; Jer 29,3; Jer 36,12; Jer 36,19; Jer 39,14; Hes 8,11)
1Early in the reign of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, this word came from the Lord:2‘This is what the Lord says: Stand in the courtyard of the Lord’s house and speak to all the people of the towns of Judah who come to worship in the house of the Lord. Tell them everything I command you; do not omit a word.3Perhaps they will listen and each will turn from their evil ways. Then I will relent and not inflict on them the disaster I was planning because of the evil they have done.4Say to them, “This is what the Lord says: if you do not listen to me and follow my law, which I have set before you,5and if you do not listen to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I have sent to you again and again (though you have not listened),6then I will make this house like Shiloh and this city a curse[1] among all the nations of the earth.” ’7The priests, the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speak these words in the house of the Lord.8But as soon as Jeremiah finished telling all the people everything the Lord had commanded him to say, the priests, the prophets and all the people seized him and said, ‘You must die!9Why do you prophesy in the Lord’s name that this house will be like Shiloh and this city will be desolate and deserted?’ And all the people crowded around Jeremiah in the house of the Lord.10When the officials of Judah heard about these things, they went up from the royal palace to the house of the Lord and took their places at the entrance of the New Gate of the Lord’s house.11Then the priests and the prophets said to the officials and all the people, ‘This man should be sentenced to death because he has prophesied against this city. You have heard it with your own ears!’12Then Jeremiah said to all the officials and all the people: ‘The Lord sent me to prophesy against this house and this city all the things you have heard.13Now reform your ways and your actions and obey the Lord your God. Then the Lord will relent and not bring the disaster he has pronounced against you.14As for me, I am in your hands; do with me whatever you think is good and right.15Be assured, however, that if you put me to death, you will bring the guilt of innocent blood on yourselves and on this city and on those who live in it, for in truth the Lord has sent me to you to speak all these words in your hearing.’16Then the officials and all the people said to the priests and the prophets, ‘This man should not be sentenced to death! He has spoken to us in the name of the Lord our God.’17Some of the elders of the land stepped forward and said to the entire assembly of people,18‘Micah of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah. He told all the people of Judah, “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘ “Zion will be ploughed like a field, Jerusalem will become a heap of rubble, the temple hill a mound overgrown with thickets.” (Mi 3,12)19‘Did Hezekiah king of Judah or anyone else in Judah put him to death? Did not Hezekiah fear the Lord and seek his favour? And did not the Lord relent, so that he did not bring the disaster he pronounced against them? We are about to bring a terrible disaster on ourselves!’20(Now Uriah son of Shemaiah from Kiriath Jearim was another man who prophesied in the name of the Lord; he prophesied the same things against this city and this land as Jeremiah did.21When King Jehoiakim and all his officers and officials heard his words, the king was determined to put him to death. But Uriah heard of it and fled in fear to Egypt.22King Jehoiakim, however, sent Elnathan son of Akbor to Egypt, along with some other men.23They brought Uriah out of Egypt and took him to King Jehoiakim, who had him struck down with a sword and his body thrown into the burial place of the common people.)24Furthermore, Ahikam son of Shaphan supported Jeremiah, and so he was not handed over to the people to be put to death.
