Die Riesen – Gottes Entschluss zur Vernichtung der Kreatur
1Und es geschah, als die Menschen begannen, sich zu vermehren auf der Fläche des Erdbodens, und ihnen Töchter geboren wurden, (1Mo 1,28)2da sahen die Söhne Gottes die Töchter der Menschen, dass sie gut waren, und sie nahmen sich von ihnen allen zu Frauen, welche sie wollten[1]. (1Mo 12,11; Hi 1,6)3Da sprach der HERR: Mein Geist soll nicht ewig im Menschen bleiben[2],[3] da er ja auch Fleisch ist[4]. Seine Tage sollen 120 Jahre betragen. (Ps 78,39; Ps 90,10; Röm 7,14)4In jenen Tagen waren die Riesen auf der Erde, und auch danach, als die Söhne Gottes zu den Töchtern der Menschen eingingen und sie ihnen ⟨Kinder⟩ gebaren. Das sind die Helden, die in der Vorzeit waren, die berühmten Männer. (4Mo 13,33; 5Mo 2,11; Jud 1,6)5Und der HERR sah, dass die Bosheit des Menschen auf der Erde groß war und alles Sinnen der Gedanken seines Herzens nur böse den ganzen Tag. (1Mo 8,21; Pred 9,3; Jer 17,9; Mt 7,11; Mt 15,19; Röm 7,18)6Und es reute den HERRN, dass er den Menschen auf der Erde gemacht hatte, und es bekümmerte ihn in sein Herz hinein. (2Mo 32,14; 1Sam 15,11)7Und der HERR sprach: Ich will den Menschen, den ich geschaffen habe, von der Fläche des Erdbodens auslöschen[5], vom Menschen bis zum Vieh, bis zu den kriechenden Tieren und bis zu den Vögeln des Himmels; denn ich habe bereut, dass ich sie gemacht habe. (Jes 27,11; Zef 1,3)8Noah aber fand Gunst[6] in den Augen des HERRN. (1Mo 19,19; Apg 7,46)
Ankündigung der Sintflut – Bau der Arche
9Dies ist die Generationenfolge[7] Noahs: Noah war ein gerechter Mann, untadelig war er unter seinen Zeitgenossen[8]; Noah lebte[9] mit Gott. (1Mo 5,22; 1Mo 7,1; 1Mo 17,1; Hi 1,1)10Und Noah zeugte drei Söhne: Sem, Ham und Jafet. (1Mo 5,32)11Die Erde aber war verdorben vor Gott, und die Erde war erfüllt mit Gewalttat.12Und Gott sah die Erde, und siehe, sie war verdorben; denn alles Fleisch hatte seinen Weg verdorben auf Erden. (1Mo 18,20; Hi 22,15; Ps 14,2; Ps 33,13; Mt 24,37; Röm 3,12)13Da sprach Gott zu Noah: Das Ende alles Fleisches ist vor mich gekommen; denn die Erde ist durch sie erfüllt von Gewalttat; und siehe, ich will sie verderben mit der Erde. (Am 8,2)14Mache dir eine Arche aus Goferholz; mit Zellen[10] sollst du die Arche machen und sie von innen und von außen mit Pech verpichen!15Und so sollst du sie machen: Dreihundert Ellen ⟨sei⟩ die Länge der Arche, fünfzig Ellen ihre Breite und dreißig Ellen ihre Höhe.16Ein Dach[11] sollst du der Arche machen, und zwar nach der Elle sollst du sie[12] ⟨von unten nach⟩ oben fertigstellen; und die Tür der Arche sollst du in ihrer Seite anbringen; mit einem unteren, einem zweiten und dritten ⟨Stockwerk⟩ sollst du sie[13] machen!17Denn ich, siehe, ich bringe die Wasserflut über die Erde, um alles Fleisch unter dem Himmel, in dem Lebensodem ist, zu vernichten; alles, was auf der Erde ist, soll umkommen. (1Mo 7,21)18Aber mit dir will ich meinen Bund aufrichten, und du sollst in die Arche gehen, du und deine Söhne und deine Frau und die Frauen deiner Söhne mit dir. (1Mo 7,1; 1Mo 9,9)19Und von allem Lebendigen, von allem Fleisch, sollst du ⟨je⟩ zwei von allen in die Arche bringen, um sie mit dir am Leben zu erhalten; ein Männliches und ein Weibliches sollen sie sein!20Von den Vögeln nach ihrer Art und von dem Vieh nach seiner Art, von allen kriechenden Tieren des Erdbodens nach ihrer Art: ⟨je⟩ zwei von allen sollen zu dir hineingehen, um am Leben zu bleiben!21Und du, nimm dir von aller Speise, die man isst, und sammle sie bei dir, dass sie dir und ihnen zur Nahrung dient! (1Mo 1,29)22Und Noah tat es; nach allem, was Gott ihm geboten hatte, so tat er. (1Mo 7,5; 2Mo 40,16; Hebr 11,7)
1There began to be many human beings on the earth. And daughters were born to them.2The sons of God saw that the daughters of human beings were beautiful. So they married any of them they chose.3Then the LORD said, ‘My Spirit will not struggle with human beings for ever. They will have only 120 years to live.’4The Nephilim were on the earth in those days. That was when the sons of God went to the daughters of human beings. Children were born to them. The Nephilim were famous heroes who lived long ago. Nephilim were also on the earth later on.5The LORD saw how bad the sins of everyone on earth had become. They only thought about evil things.6The LORD was very sad that he had made human beings on the earth. His heart was filled with pain.7So the LORD said, ‘I created human beings, but I will wipe them out. I will also destroy the animals, the birds in the sky, and the creatures that move along the ground. I am very sad that I have made human beings.’8But the LORD was very pleased with Noah.
Noah and the flood
9Here is the story of Noah and his family. Noah was a godly man. He was without blame among the people of his time. He walked faithfully with God.10Noah had three sons. Their names were Shem, Ham and Japheth.11The earth was very sinful in God’s eyes. It was full of people who did mean and harmful things.12God saw how sinful the earth had become. All its people were living very sinful lives.13So God said to Noah, ‘I am going to put an end to everyone. They have filled the earth with their harmful acts. I am certainly going to destroy them and the earth.14So make yourself an ark out of cypress wood. Make rooms in it. Cover it with tar inside and out.15Here is how I want you to build it. The ark has to be 150 metres long. It has to be 25 metres wide and 15 metres high.16Make a roof for it. Leave below the roof an opening all the way round that is half a metre high. Put a door in one side of the ark. Make lower, middle and upper decks.17I am going to bring a flood on the earth. It will destroy all life under the sky. It will destroy every living creature that breathes. Everything on earth will die.18But I will make my covenant with you. You will go into the ark. Your sons and your wife and your sons’ wives will enter it with you.19Bring a male and a female of every living thing into the ark. They will be kept alive with you.20Two of every kind of bird will come to you. Two of every kind of animal will also come to you. And so will two of every kind of creature that moves along the ground. All of them will be kept alive with you.21Take every kind of food that you will need. Store it away as food for you and them.’22Noah did everything just as God commanded him.
