2 Erhebe dich, Richter der Erde, vergilt den Hochmütigen ihr Tun! (Hi 40,11; Ps 82,8; Jes 2,12) 3 Bis wann werden die Gottlosen, HERR, bis wann werden die Gottlosen jubeln, 4 übersprudeln, Freches reden, werden sich rühmen alle Übeltäter? (1Sam 2,3; Hi 20,5; Ps 125,5) 5 Dein Volk, HERR, zertreten sie, dein Eigentum^[3] bedrücken sie. 6 Die Witwe und den Fremden bringen sie um, die Waisen ermorden sie. 11 Der HERR kennt die Gedanken des Menschen, dass sie ein Hauch^[5] sind. (Ps 44,22; Joh 2,24; 1Kor 3,20) 12 Glücklich der Mann, den du züchtigst, Jah, den du belehrst aus deinem Gesetz, (Hi 5,17; Ps 119,71) 13 um ihm Ruhe zu geben vor den bösen Tagen, bis dem Gottlosen die Grube gegraben wird! (Jes 26,20) 14 Denn der HERR wird sein Volk nicht verstoßen, er wird sein Erbteil nicht verlassen. (1Sam 12,22; Ps 74,2; Röm 11,1) 15 Denn zur Gerechtigkeit wird zurückkehren das Recht^[6] und hinter ihm her alle, die von Herzen aufrichtig sind. (Ps 118,6) 17 Wäre der HERR mir nicht eine Hilfe gewesen, so hätte wenig gefehlt, und meine Seele hätte im Schweigen^[7] gelegen. 18 Wenn ich sagte: Mein Fuß wankt!, so unterstützte mich deine Gnade, HERR. (Ps 37,24) 19 Als viele unruhige Gedanken in mir ⟨waren⟩, erfreuten deine Tröstungen meine Seele. (Kla 3,20) 20 Sollte mit dir verbündet sein der Thron des Verderbens, der Unheil schafft gegen die Ordnung? (Spr 28,9) 21 Sie rotten sich gegen die Seele des Gerechten zusammen, und unschuldiges Blut sprechen sie schuldig. (2Mo 23,7; Mt 27,24; Jak 5,6) 22 Doch der HERR wurde mir zur Burg, mein Gott zum Fels meiner Zuflucht. (Ps 62,8) 23 Er lässt ihre Ungerechtigkeit zu ihnen zurückkehren, und in ihrer Bosheit wird er sie zum Schweigen bringen^[8]. Zum Schweigen bringen wird sie der HERR, unser Gott. (Spr 5,23)

1 O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself. 2 Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud. 3 LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph? 4 How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves? 5 They break in pieces thy people, O LORD, and afflict thine heritage. 6 They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless. 7 Yet they say, The LORD shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it . 8 Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise? 9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see? 10 He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know ? 11 The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity. 12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law; 13 That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked. 14 For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance. 15 But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it. 16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity? 17 Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence. 18 When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up. 19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul. 20 Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law? 21 They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood. 22 But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge. 23 And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea , the LORD our God shall cut them off.

Combien de temps les méchants triompheront-ils ?

1 Dieu qui châtie le coupable, ╵Eternel, Dieu qui châtie le coupable, ╵manifeste-toi! 2 Toi qui gouvernes la terre, ╵interviens! et viens rendre aux orgueilleux leur dû! 3 Combien de temps les méchants, ╵Eternel, combien de temps les méchants ╵vont-ils encore jubiler? 4 Les voilà qui se répandent ╵en paroles insolentes, tous ces artisans du mal ╵fanfaronnent. 5 Ton peuple, ils l’oppriment, ╵Eternel, et ils humilient ╵ceux qui t’appartiennent. 6 Ils tuent l’immigré ╵et la veuve; l’orphelin, ils l’assassinent. 7 Ils se disent: ╵« L’Eternel ne le voit pas, le Dieu de Jacob ╵n’y prête aucune attention! » 8 Réfléchissez donc, ╵gens insensés de mon peuple! Gens bornés, ╵quand aurez-vous du bon sens? 9 Celui qui a implanté l’oreille, ╵n’entendrait-il pas? Celui qui a formé l’œil, ╵ne verrait-il pas? 10 Celui qui corrige tous les peuples, ╵ne vous blâmera-t-il pas, lui qui instruit les humains? 11 L’Eternel connaît ╵les pensées de l’homme: elles ne sont que du vent^[1]. (1Kor 3,20) 12 Bienheureux est l’homme, ╵Eternel, ╵que tu corriges toi-même, et à qui tu enseignes ta Loi, 13 pour lui donner la quiétude ╵dans les jours mauvais, jusqu’à ce que se soit creusée ╵pour le méchant une fosse. 14 Jamais l’Eternel ╵ne délaissera son peuple. Il n’abandonnera pas ╵celui qui lui appartient. 15 A nouveau, on jugera ╵selon la justice, et tous les cœurs droits ╵se conformeront à elle. 16 Qui m’assistera ╵contre les méchants? Qui me soutiendra ╵contre ceux qui font le mal? 17 Ah! si l’Eternel ╵ne m’avait pas secouru, je serais bien vite allé rejoindre ╵la demeure du silence. 18 Quand j’ai dit: ╵« Je vais perdre pied », dans ton amour, Eternel, ╵tu m’as soutenu. 19 Lorsque des pensées en foule ╵s’agitaient en moi, tes consolations ╵m’ont rendu la joie. 20 Pourrait-il s’allier à toi, ╵ce pouvoir injuste qui crée le malheur ╵par les décrets qu’il promulgue^[2]? 21 Ils s’attroupent ╵pour attenter à la vie du juste, et pour condamner à mort ╵l’innocent. 22 Mais l’Eternel est pour moi ╵une forteresse, oui, mon Dieu est le rocher ╵où je trouve abri. 23 Il fait retomber sur eux ╵leur iniquité, il les détruira ╵par leur perversité même. Oui, l’Eternel, notre Dieu, ╵les détruira tous.
