Warnung vor Hilferuf an Ägypten und Mahnung, dem HERRN zu vertrauen – Zukünftige Erneuerung Jerusalems
1Wehe den widerspenstigen Söhnen, spricht der HERR[1], die einen Plan machen[2], aber nicht von mir aus, und Bündnisse weihen[3], aber nicht nach meinem Geist, um Sünde auf Sünde zu häufen; (Jes 1,2; Jes 1,4; Jes 29,15; Jes 31,1; Hes 2,3; Hos 11,6)2die sich aufmachen, um nach Ägypten hinabzuziehen – aber meinen Mund haben sie nicht befragt –, um unter den Schutz des Pharao zu flüchten und um sich zu bergen im Schatten Ägyptens! (Jos 9,14; 1Kön 22,7; 2Kön 18,21; Jes 36,6; Jer 2,18; Jer 42,14; Hos 7,13; Hos 8,9)3Doch der Schutz des Pharao wird euch zur Schande werden und die Zuflucht im Schatten Ägyptens zur Schmach. (Jes 20,5; Jer 2,36; Jer 46,25; Hes 29,7)4Denn seine Obersten[4] waren ⟨zwar⟩ in Zoan, und seine Gesandten erreichten Hanes; (Jes 19,11)5⟨doch⟩ jeder wird zuschanden an einem Volk[5], das ihm nichts nutzt, das nicht zur Hilfe und nicht zum Nutzen, sondern zur Schande und auch zur Schmach ⟨dient⟩. –6Ausspruch über die Tiere[6] des Südens: Durch ein Land der Not und der Angst, aus dem Löwin und Löwe, Giftschlange und fliegende feurige Schlangen[7] ⟨kommen⟩, tragen sie auf dem Rücken von Eseln ihren Reichtum und auf den Höckern der Kamele ihre Schätze zu einem Volk, das nichts nützt. (4Mo 21,6; Jes 14,29; Hos 8,9; Hos 12,2; Sach 6,6)7Denn umsonst und vergebens wird Ägypten helfen. Darum nenne ich es Rahab, die zum Schweigen Gebrachte.[8] (Spr 25,19; Jes 31,3; Jer 37,7)8Geh nun hin, schreib es bei ihnen auf eine Tafel und zeichne es in ein Buch ein, damit es für einen künftigen Tag als Zeuge bleibt[9] bis in Ewigkeit! Sagt uns Schmeicheleien! Schaut uns Täuschungen! (1Kön 22,8; 2Chr 25,16; Jer 11,21; Am 2,12; Mi 2,6; 2Tim 4,3)11Weicht ab vom Weg, biegt ab vom Pfad! Lasst uns in Ruhe mit dem Heiligen Israels[11]! (Hi 21,14; Jes 29,13)12Darum, so spricht der Heilige Israels: Weil ihr dieses Wort verwerft und auf Unterdrückung und Arglist vertraut und euch darauf stützt, (Jes 28,15)13darum wird für euch diese Schuld wie ein sturzbringender Riss sein, der sich vorschiebt an einer hochragenden Mauer, deren Zusammenbruch in einem Augenblick, plötzlich kommt. (Ps 62,4; Spr 29,1; Hes 13,14)14Und er wird sie zerbrechen, wie man einen Töpferkrug zerbricht, mitleidslos zertrümmert, und unter dessen Bruchstücken man nicht ein ⟨ganzes⟩ Tongefäß findet, um ⟨damit⟩ Feuer vom Herd zu holen oder Wasser aus einer Wassergrube[12] zu schöpfen. (Jer 19,11; Jer 48,38)15Denn so spricht der Herr, HERR, der Heilige Israels: Durch Umkehr und durch Ruhe werdet ihr gerettet. In Stillsein und in Vertrauen ist eure Stärke. Aber ihr habt nicht gewollt. (2Mo 14,14; Jes 7,4; Jes 40,31; Mt 23,37)16Ihr sagtet: »Nein, sondern auf Pferden wollen wir fliegen«, darum werdet ihr fliehen; und: »Auf Rennern wollen wir reiten«, darum werden eure Verfolger ⟨hinter euch her⟩rennen. (2Kön 25,5; Kla 4,19)17Je ein Tausend ⟨wird fliehen⟩ vor dem Drohen eines Einzigen. Vor dem Drohen von Fünfen werdet ihr ⟨alle⟩ fliehen, bis ihr ⟨nur noch⟩ ein Rest seid wie eine Signalstange auf der Spitze des Berges und wie ein Feldzeichen auf dem Hügel. (3Mo 26,17; 5Mo 28,25; 5Mo 32,30; Jes 1,8)18Und darum wird der HERR darauf warten, euch gnädig zu sein, und darum wird er sich erheben, sich über euch zu erbarmen. Denn ein Gott des Rechts ist der HERR. Glücklich alle, die auf ihn harren! (Ps 2,12; Jes 26,7; Jes 57,16; Jer 17,7; Jer 31,20; Kla 3,25)19Ja, ⟨du⟩ Volk aus Zion, das in Jerusalem wohnt, du wirst nicht mehr weinen! Er wird dir gewiss Gnade erweisen auf die Stimme deines Hilfegeschreis. Sobald er hört, antwortet er dir. (Jes 25,8; Jes 58,9; Jes 65,19; Jes 65,24; Jer 29,12)20Und hat der Herr euch auch Brot der Not und Wasser der Bedrängnis[13] gegeben, so wird dein Lehrer sich nicht mehr verbergen, sondern deine Augen werden deinen Lehrer sehen. (Jes 33,16; Jes 51,14)21Und wenn ihr zur Rechten oder wenn ihr zur Linken abbiegt, werden deine Ohren ein Wort hinter dir her hören: Dies ist der Weg, den geht! (5Mo 5,32; 1Sam 12,23; Jes 48,17; Jer 6,16)22Dann wirst du[14] den Überzug deiner silbernen Schnitzbilder und die Bekleidung deiner goldenen Gussbilder unrein machen[15]. Du wirst sie wegwerfen wie etwas Unreines: Dreck!, wirst du dazu sagen. – (5Mo 7,25; Jes 2,20; Jes 27,9; Hes 7,20)23Und er wird Regen geben deiner Saat, mit der du den Erdboden besäst, und Brot als Ertrag des Erdbodens, und ⟨alles⟩ wird saftig und fett sein. Deine Herden werden an jenem Tag weiden auf weitem Weidegrund. (3Mo 26,3; Ps 67,7; Jes 32,20; Joe 2,23)24Und die Rinder und Esel, die den Erdboden bearbeiten, werden gemischtes Sauerfutter fressen, das man mit Schaufel und mit der Gabel geworfelt hat.25Und auf jedem hohen Berg und auf jedem hochragenden Hügel werden Bäche, Wasserläufe sein am Tag des großen Mordens, wenn Türme fallen. (Jes 2,15; Joe 4,13; Joe 4,18)26Dann wird das Licht des Mondes sein wie das Licht der Sonne, und das Licht der Sonne wird siebenfach sein wie das Licht von sieben Tagen, an dem Tag, da der HERR den Bruch seines Volkes verbinden und die Wunde seines Schlages heilen wird. Drohendes Gericht über die Feinde, besonders über Assur
27Siehe, der Name des HERRN kommt von weit her mit seinem brennenden Zorn und wuchtigem Auffahren. Seine Lippen sind voller Grimm, und seine Zunge ist wie ein verzehrendes Feuer (Mal 1,11)28und sein Atem wie ein überflutender Bach, der bis an den Hals reicht: um die Nationen zu schwingen mit dem Schwingsieb des Nichts und einen irreführenden Zaum an die Kinnbacken der Völker ⟨zu legen⟩. (Jes 17,13)29Das Lied werdet ihr ⟨auf den Lippen⟩ haben wie in der Nacht, in der das Fest gefeiert[16] wird, und Freude im Herzen wie der, der unter Flötenspiel hinaufzieht, um auf den Berg des HERRN zu kommen, zum Felsen Israels. (Ps 42,5; Jes 44,8)30Dann wird der HERR hören lassen die Hoheit seiner Stimme und sehen lassen das Niederfahren seines Armes mit wütendem Zorn und einer Flamme verzehrenden Feuers, ⟨unter⟩ Platzregen und Wolkenbruch und Hagelsteinen. (Jes 37,36)32Und es wird geschehen, jeder Hieb der Zuchtrute[18], die der HERR auf es niedersausen lässt, ⟨geschieht⟩ unter Tamburin- und Zitherspiel. Und mit geschwungenem Arm[19] kämpft er gegen es. (2Chr 32,8; Jes 10,26; Jes 31,4)33Denn längst ist eine Feuerstätte[20] hergerichtet. Auch für den König[21] ist sie bereitet, tief ⟨und⟩ weit hat er sie gemacht. Ihr Scheiterhaufen ⟨ist für⟩ das Feuer und ⟨hat⟩ Holz in Menge. 1Malheur aux fils rebelles, déclare l’Eternel, qui forment des projets ╵où je n’ai pas de part, qui concluent des traités[1] ╵contre ma volonté pour ajouter ainsi ╵un péché à un autre!2Ils s’en vont en Egypte ╵sans m’avoir consulté pour se mettre en sécurité ╵auprès du pharaon et pour chercher refuge ╵à l’ombre de l’Egypte!3Le refuge du pharaon ╵sera sujet de honte, l’abri que vous cherchez ╵à l’ombre de l’Egypte ╵vous plongera ╵dans une grande confusion.4Oui, vos ministres ╵sont déjà à Tsoân et vos ambassadeurs ╵parviennent à Hanès[2]. Un peuple rebelle
8Viens maintenant, grave cela en leur présence sur une tablette, inscris-le sur un document afin que cela serve de témoin ╵pour les jours à venir, et à toujours,9car c’est un peuple révolté, ce sont des fils trompeurs et qui refusent d’écouter ╵la Loi de l’Eternel,10qui disent aux prophètes: ╵« Ne prophétisez pas », et à ceux qui ont des révélations: ╵« Cessez de nous servir ╵des révélations vraies! Annoncez-nous ╵des choses agréables, que vos révélations ╵nous bercent d’illusions!11Sortez des bons chemins, quittez les sentiers droits, cessez de nous importuner ╵avec le Saint, Dieu d’Israël. »12Par conséquent, ╵voici ce que déclare ╵le Dieu saint d’Israël: Puisque vous méprisez ╵cet avertissement et que vous vous confiez ╵à la violence et aux intrigues, que vous comptez dessus,13à cause de cela, ╵ce péché deviendra pour vous comme une brèche ╵dans un mur élevé: un renflement y apparaît et puis, soudain, ╵le voilà qui s’écroule,14et qui se brise ╵comme se brise ╵un vase de potier que l’on fracasse ╵sans nul ménagement, dans les débris duquel ╵on ne trouverait pas un tesson assez grand ╵pour ramasser des braises ou pour puiser ╵de l’eau à la citerne.
Calme et confiance
15Car ainsi parle le Seigneur, ╵l’Eternel, le Saint d’Israël: C’est si vous revenez à moi, ╵si vous restez tranquilles, ╵que vous serez sauvés, c’est dans le calme et la confiance ╵que sera votre force! Mais vous ne l’avez pas voulu16et vous avez dit: « Non, ╵nous fuirons à cheval! » Eh bien: Oui, vous fuirez! Vous avez ajouté: ╵« Nous irons sur des chars rapides! » Eh bien! Vos poursuivants ╵seront rapides, eux aussi!17Et mille hommes se sentiront ╵menacés par un seul, cinq soldats suffiront, ╵pour vous mettre en déroute. Il ne subsistera ╵que quelques rescapés qui seront comme un mât ╵en haut d’une montagne ou comme une bannière ╵au sommet d’un coteau.18Et pourtant, l’Eternel attend ╵le moment de vous faire grâce et il se lèvera ╵pour vous manifester ╵sa compassion, car l’Eternel est un Dieu juste. Heureux tous ceux ╵qui se confient en lui!
Dieu fera grâce
19O peuple de Sion habitant à Jérusalem[4], tu ne pleureras plus! Car Dieu te fera grâce quand tu crieras et, lorsqu’il t’entendra, il répondra à ton appel.20Car le Seigneur te donnera du pain dans la détresse et de l’eau dans l’angoisse. Oui, celui qui t’enseigne ne se dérobera plus, tu verras de tes yeux le maître qui t’instruit.21Alors tu entendras dire derrière toi: C’est ici le chemin: suis-le, là, va à droite … là, va à gauche …22Tu tiendras pour impur le placage d’argent recouvrant tes idoles, le revêtement d’or qui orne tes statues: tu les rejetteras comme une chose souillée, tu diras: Hors d’ici!23Et Dieu accordera la pluie à la semence que tu mettras en terre. Aussi, la nourriture que produira la terre sera très riche et savoureuse, et ton bétail, en ce temps-là, paîtra dans de vastes prairies.24Les bœufs comme les ânes qui labourent ton sol se nourriront de fourrage salé que l’on aura vanné à la fourche et au van.25Au jour du grand massacre où les tours fortes tomberont, il y aura partout sur les hautes montagnes, sur toute colline élevée, des cours d’eau abondants.26La lune brillera du même éclat que le soleil, et la lumière du soleil sera sept fois plus vive. Elle sera pareille à la lumière de sept jours au jour où l’Eternel pansera les plaies de son peuple, où il guérira les blessures entraînées par les coups qu’il a reçus.
Correction et salut
27L’Eternel en personne ╵va venir d’un pays lointain, sa colère est ardente, oui, c’est un nuage oppressant[5]. Quand il parle, ses lèvres ╵sont chargées de courroux et sa langue est pareille ╵à un feu qui consume.28Son souffle est comme un torrent qui déborde et dont l’eau atteint jusqu’au cou. Il va passer les peuples ╵au crible destructeur et mettre à leurs mâchoires un mors d’égarement.29Cependant, parmi vous ╵retentiront des chants comme en la nuit de fête[6], et vous vous réjouirez comme celui qui monte ╵au son des flûtes, au mont de l’Eternel et vers le rocher d’Israël. (Jes 31,5)30L’Eternel fera retentir ╵sa voix majestueuse et l’on verra son bras s’abattre dans le déchaînement de sa colère et dans l’embrasement ╵de son feu qui consume, du sein de la tornade, ╵de la tempête et de la grêle.31Alors Assur sera terrorisée en entendant la voix ╵de l’Eternel lorsqu’il le frappera ╵de son bâton.32Et à chaque coup de bâton ╵que l’Eternel lui administrera afin de le châtier, on fera retentir ╵les tambourins, les lyres. Et l’Eternel lui-même ╵combattra contre lui ╵par des coups redoublés.33Déjà, depuis longtemps, ╵le bûcher est dressé, il est prêt aussi pour le roi[7], il est profond et large, le bois est empilé ╵en quantité, ╵le feu est prêt et le souffle de l’Eternel ╵comme un torrent de soufre ╵l’embrasera.
