Psalm 96

1 Singt dem HERRN ein neues Lied, singe dem HERRN, ganze Erde! (Ps 33,3; Ps 66,4) 2 Singt dem HERRN, preist seinen Namen, verkündet von Tag zu Tag sein Heil^[1]! (Ps 145,1) 3 Erzählt unter den Nationen seine Herrlichkeit, unter allen Völkern seine Wundertaten! (Ps 9,2; Ps 105,1) 4 Denn groß ist der HERR und sehr zu loben, furchtbar ist er über allen Göttern. (Ps 95,3; Ps 145,3; Ps 150,2; Dan 2,47)

5 Denn alle Götter der Völker sind Götzen^[2], der HERR aber hat den Himmel gemacht. (Ps 8,4; Jes 42,5) 6 Majestät und Pracht sind vor seinem Angesicht, Stärke und Herrlichkeit in seinem Heiligtum. (Ps 63,3) 7 Gebt dem HERRN, ihr Völkerstämme, gebt dem HERRN Ehre^[3] und Macht! (Ps 29,1) 8 Gebt dem HERRN die Ehre^[4] seines Namens! Bringt Opfer und kommt in seine Vorhöfe! (Ps 100,4; Ps 116,19; Mal 1,11) 9 Betet an den HERRN in heiliger Pracht^[5]! Erzittere vor ihm, ganze Erde! (Ps 29,2; Ps 99,1) 10 Sagt unter den Nationen: Der HERR ist König! Ja, fest steht die Welt, sie wird nicht wanken. Er wird die Völker richten in Geradheit. (Ps 7,9; Ps 93,1; Jes 52,7; Offb 19,6)

11 Es freue sich der Himmel, und es jauchze die Erde! Es brause das Meer und seine Fülle! (1Chr 16,32; Ps 97,1; Ps 98,7) 12 Es frohlockt das Feld und alles, was darauf ist! Auch alle Bäume im Wald sollen jubeln (Jes 49,13; Jes 55,12) 13 vor dem HERRN! Denn er kommt, denn er kommt, die Erde zu richten. Er wird die Welt richten in Gerechtigkeit und die Völker in seiner Wahrheit^[6]. (Ps 7,9; Ps 50,3; Jes 2,4; Apg 17,31; Offb 19,11)

Worship in the Splendor of Holiness

1 Oh sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth! (1Chr 16,23; Ps 33,3; Ps 98,1) 2 Sing to the Lord, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day. (Jes 52,7; Jes 60,6) 3 Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! 4 For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods. (Ps 18,3; Ps 48,1; Ps 95,3) 5 For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the Lord made the heavens. (Ps 115,15; Jes 42,5; Jes 44,24; Jer 10,12)

6 Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary. (Ps 78,61) 7 Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength! (Ps 22,27; Ps 29,1) 8 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering, and come into his courts! (Ps 29,2; Ps 45,12; Ps 68,29; Ps 72,10; Ps 100,4)

9 Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness;^[1] tremble before him, all the earth! (Ps 29,2; Ps 114,7) 10 Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns! Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved; he will judge the peoples with equity.” (Ps 9,8; Ps 58,11; Ps 93,1; Ps 96,13)

11 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all that fills it; (Ps 69,34; Ps 97,1; Ps 98,7) 12 let the field exult, and everything in it! Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy (Jes 35,1; Jes 55,12) 13 before the Lord, for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness, and the peoples in his faithfulness. (Jes 11,1)
