6 Tut dies: Nehmt euch Feuerbecken^[2], Korach und seine ganze Rotte, 7 und tut morgen Feuer hinein und legt Räucherwerk darauf vor dem HERRN! Und es soll geschehen, der Mann, den der HERR erwählen wird, der sei der Heilige. Genug mit euch^[3], ihr Söhne Levis! 8 Und Mose sprach zu Korach: Hört doch, ihr Söhne Levis! 9 Ist es euch zu wenig, dass der Gott Israels euch aus der Gemeinde Israel ausgesondert hat, um euch zu sich nahen zu lassen, damit ihr den Dienst ⟨an⟩ der Wohnung des HERRN ausübt und vor der Gemeinde steht, um ihr zu dienen, (4Mo 1,53; Hes 44,11) 10 dass er dich und alle deine Brüder, die Söhne Levis, mit dir hat herzunahen lassen? Und ihr trachtet auch ⟨noch⟩ nach dem Priesteramt! (4Mo 3,6) 11 Darum seid ihr es, die sich zusammenrotten, du und deine ganze Rotte, gegen den HERRN! Denn Aaron, was ist er, dass ihr gegen ihn murrt? (2Mo 16,7; Ps 106,16) 12 Und Mose sandte hin, um Datan und Abiram, die Söhne Eliabs, zu rufen. Aber sie sagten: Wir kommen nicht hinauf! 13 Ist es zu wenig, dass du uns aus einem Land, das von Milch und Honig überfließt, heraufgeführt hast, um uns in der Wüste sterben zu lassen? Willst du dich auch noch zum Herrscher über uns aufwerfen? (1Sam 12,3; Spr 21,27) 16 Und Mose sagte zu Korach: Du und deine ganze Rotte, ihr sollt morgen vor dem HERRN erscheinen^[4], du und sie und Aaron! 17 Und nehmt jeder sein Feuerbecken^[5] und legt Räucherwerk darauf, und bringt jeder sein Feuerbecken dar vor dem HERRN, 250 Feuerbecken, du und Aaron, jeder sein Feuerbecken! 18 Und sie nahmen jeder sein Feuerbecken und taten Feuer darauf und legten Räucherwerk darauf; und sie traten hin an den Eingang des Zeltes der Begegnung, auch Mose und Aaron. 19 Und Korach versammelte gegen sie die ganze Gemeinde an den Eingang des Zeltes der Begegnung. Da erschien die Herrlichkeit des HERRN vor der ganzen Gemeinde. 23 Und der HERR redete zu Mose und sprach: 24 Rede zur Gemeinde und sprich: Entfernt euch ringsum von der Wohnung Korachs, Datans und Abirams! 25 Da stand Mose auf und ging zu Datan und Abiram, und ihm nach gingen die Ältesten Israels. 26 Und er redete zu der Gemeinde und sprach: Weicht doch von den Zelten dieser gottlosen Männer, und rührt nichts an, was ihnen gehört, damit ihr nicht weggerafft werdet in allen ihren Sünden! 2 And they rose up before Moses, with a number of the people of Israel, 250 chiefs of the congregation, chosen from the assembly, well-known men. 3 They assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron and said to them, “You have gone too far! For all in the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them. Then scatter the fire far and wide, for they have become holy. 38 As for the censers of these men who have sinned at the cost of their lives, let them be made into hammered plates as a covering for the altar, for they offered them before the Lord, and they became holy. 39 So Eleazar the priest took the bronze censers, which those who were burned had offered, and they were hammered out as a covering for the altar, 40 to be a reminder to the people of Israel, so that no outsider, who is not of the descendants of Aaron, should draw near to burn incense before the Lord, lest he become like Korah and his company—as the Lord said to him through Moses. Die ganze Gemeinschaft ist heilig, und zwar alle. Und Jahwe ist in ihrer Mitte. Warum erhebt ihr euch über die Gemeinde Jahwes?“ 4 Als Mose das hörte, warf er sich nieder, das Gesicht auf dem Boden. 5 Dann sagte er zu Korach und seiner ganzen Versammlung: „Morgen wird Jahwe zeigen, wer zu ihm gehört und wer heilig ist, dass er ihn in seine Nähe kommen lässt. 6 Macht Folgendes, du, Korach, und ihr, seine Anhänger: Nehmt euch Räucherpfannen, 7 tut morgen früh Glut hinein und legt Weihrauch vor Jahwe darauf. Und der Mann, den Jahwe erwählen wird, der ist heilig. Ihr nehmt euch zu viel heraus, ihr Leviten!“ 8 Dann sagte Mose zu Korach: „Hört zu, ihr Leviten! 9 Ist es euch zu wenig, dass Israels Gott euch aus der Menge der Israeliten ausgesondert hat, sodass ihr in seine Nähe kommen und den Dienst an der Wohnung Jahwes ausüben dürft und dass ihr vor der Gemeinde steht, um ihr zu dienen? 10 Er ließ dich und deine Brüder, die Leviten, in seine Nähe kommen. Aber sie ließen ihm sagen: „Wir kommen nicht! 13 Ist es dir zu wenig, dass du uns aus einem Land herausgeführt hast, wo es reichlich Milch und Honig gab, um uns in der Wüste sterben zu lassen? Musst du dich auch noch als Herrscher aufspielen? 14 Hast du uns denn in ein Land gebracht, das von Milch und Honig überfließt, hast uns Äcker und Weinberge zum Besitz gegeben? Hältst du uns denn für blind? Nein, wir kommen nicht!“ 15 Da wurde Mose sehr zornig und sagte zu Jahwe: „Wende dich ihrem Opfer nicht zu! Nicht einen einzigen Esel habe ich ihnen weggenommen. Keinem Einzigen von ihnen habe ich etwas angetan.“ 16 Zu Korach sagte Mose: „Morgen wirst du mit deinem Anhang vor Jahwe erscheinen, du, sie und Aaron! 17 Jeder nehme seine Räucherpfanne, lege Weihrauch darauf und bringe das vor Jahwe, 250 Räucherpfannen, auch du und Aaron, jeder seine Räucherpfanne!“ 18 So nahm jeder seine Räucherpfanne, legte Glut und Weihrauch darauf und trat an den Eingang zum Offenbarungszelt, auch Mose und Aaron. 19 Korach hatte seine ganze Anhängerschaft gegen Mose und Aaron am Eingang zum Offenbarungszelt zusammengebracht. Da erschien die Herrlichkeit Jahwes vor der ganzen Versammlung. 20 Und Jahwe sagte zu Mose und Aaron: 21 „Entfernt euch aus dieser Versammlung! Ich will sie in einem Augenblick vernichten.“ 22 Da warfen die beiden sich nieder und sagten: „Gott, du Gott des Lebens aller Menschen! Ein einziger Mann hat gesündigt, und du wirst zornig über die ganze Versammlung?“ 23 Da befahl Jahwe Mose, 24 der Versammlung zu sagen: „Entfernt euch aus dem Umkreis der Wohnungen von Korach, Datan und Abiram!“ 25 Mose stand auf und ging mit den Ältesten Israels zu Datan und Abiram. 26 Er sagte zu der ganzen Versammlung: „Entfernt euch von den Zelten dieser gottlosen Männer! Fasst nichts an, was ihnen gehört! Sonst werdet ihr samt ihnen und ihren Sünden weggerissen!“ 27 Alle entfernten sich aus dem Umkreis der Wohnungen von Korach, Datan und Abiram. Datan und Abiram waren herausgekommen und standen mit ihren Frauen, ihren Söhnen und kleinen Kindern am Eingang ihrer Zelte. 28 Mose sagte: „An dem, was jetzt geschieht, sollt ihr erkennen, dass Jahwe mich beauftragt hat, all diese Taten zu vollbringen, und dass ich das nicht eigenmächtig getan habe. 29 Wenn diese hier sterben, wie alle Menschen sterben; wenn sie zur Rechenschaft gezogen werden, wie das bei allen Menschen geschieht, dann hat Jahwe mich nicht beauftragt. 30 Wenn Jahwe aber etwas Unerhörtes schafft, wenn die Erde ihren Rachen aufsperrt und sie mit allem, was zu ihnen gehört, verschlingt und sie lebendig zu den Toten hinabstürzen, dann werdet ihr erkennen, dass diese Männer Jahwe verachtet haben.“ 31 Kaum hatte er das gesagt, da spaltete sich der Boden unter ihnen, 32 die Erde öffnete ihren Rachen und verschlang sie mit allem Hab und Gut, mit ihren Familien und allen Anhängern Korachs. 33 So stürzten sie mit allem, was zu ihnen gehörte, lebendig zu den Toten hinab, und die Erde schloss sich über ihnen. So wurden sie mitten aus der Versammlung weggerissen. 34 Ganz Israel, das um sie herumstand, floh bei ihrem Geschrei. „Dass uns nur die Erde nicht verschlingt!“, riefen sie. 35 Und die 250 Männer, die das Rauchopfer dargebracht hatten, verzehrte ein Feuer, das von Jahwe ausging.
