Ermahnung zum Leben in der Freiheit des Evangeliums
1Für die Freiheit hat Christus uns frei gemacht. Steht nun fest und lasst euch nicht wieder durch ein Joch der Sklaverei belasten! (Joh 8,36; 1Kor 16,13; Gal 2,4; Gal 4,3; Gal 5,13)2Siehe, ich, Paulus, sage euch, dass Christus euch nichts nützen wird, wenn ihr euch beschneiden lasst. (Apg 15,1; Gal 2,21; Eph 3,1)3Ich bezeuge aber noch einmal jedem Menschen, der sich beschneiden lässt, dass er das ganze Gesetz zu tun schuldig ist. (Apg 15,5; Röm 2,25)4Ihr seid von Christus abgetrennt[1], die ihr im Gesetz gerechtfertigt werden wollt; ihr seid aus der Gnade gefallen. (Röm 11,6)5Wir nämlich erwarten durch ⟨den⟩ Geist aus Glauben die Hoffnung der Gerechtigkeit. (Röm 5,1)6Denn in Christus Jesus hat weder Beschneidung noch Unbeschnittensein irgendeine Kraft, sondern ⟨der⟩ durch Liebe wirksame Glaube. (1Kor 7,19; 1Kor 13,2; Gal 6,15; Jak 2,14; 1Joh 3,23)7Ihr lieft gut. Wer hat euch gehindert, der Wahrheit zu gehorchen? (Gal 3,1)8Die Überredung ist nicht von dem, der euch beruft. (Gal 1,6)9Ein wenig Sauerteig durchsäuert den ganzen Teig. (Mt 13,33; 1Kor 5,6)10Ich habe Vertrauen zu euch im Herrn, dass ihr nicht anders gesinnt sein werdet. Wer euch aber verwirrt, wird das Urteil tragen, wer er auch sei. (1Kor 3,17; 2Kor 2,3; 2Kor 11,15; Gal 1,7; Gal 2,6; Phil 2,24; 2Thess 3,4)11Ich aber, Brüder, wenn ich noch Beschneidung predige, warum werde ich noch verfolgt? Dann ist ja der Anstoß[2] des Kreuzes beseitigt. (1Kor 1,23; Gal 4,29)12Meinetwegen können sie, die euch beunruhigen, sich auch verschneiden lassen. (Phil 3,2)
Warnung vor fleischlichem Missbrauch der Freiheit – Ermahnung zum Leben durch den Geist
13Denn ihr seid zur Freiheit berufen worden, Brüder. Nur ⟨gebraucht⟩ nicht die Freiheit als Anlass für das Fleisch, sondern dient einander durch die Liebe! (Röm 14,15; 1Kor 8,1; 1Kor 8,9; Gal 5,1; 1Thess 1,3; 1Petr 2,16)14Denn das ganze Gesetz ist in einem Wort erfüllt, in dem: »Du sollst deinen Nächsten lieben wie dich selbst.« (3Mo 19,18; Mt 22,39)15Wenn ihr aber einander beißt und fresst, so seht zu, dass ihr nicht voneinander verzehrt werdet! (Lk 11,17)16Ich sage aber: Wandelt im[3] Geist, und ihr werdet die Begierde des Fleisches nicht erfüllen. (Röm 8,4; Röm 13,14; Gal 5,25)17Denn das Fleisch begehrt gegen den Geist auf, der Geist aber gegen das Fleisch; denn diese sind einander entgegengesetzt, damit[4] ihr nicht das tut, was ihr wollt. (Röm 7,15; 1Petr 2,11)18Wenn ihr aber durch den Geist geleitet werdet, seid ihr nicht unter ⟨dem⟩ Gesetz. (Röm 8,14)19Offenbar aber sind die Werke des Fleisches; es sind: Unzucht[5], Unreinheit, Ausschweifung, (1Tim 5,24)20Götzendienst, Zauberei, Feindschaften, Streit, Eifersucht, Zornausbrüche, Selbstsüchteleien, Zwistigkeiten, Parteiungen, (Eph 4,31)21Neidereien, Trinkgelage, Völlereien und dergleichen. Von diesen sage ich euch im Voraus, so wie ich vorher sagte, dass die, die so etwas tun, das Reich[6] Gottes nicht erben werden. (Mt 15,19; 1Kor 6,10; Offb 22,15)22Die Frucht des Geistes aber ist: Liebe, Freude, Friede, Langmut, Freundlichkeit, Güte, Treue,23Sanftmut, Enthaltsamkeit[7]. Gegen diese ist das Gesetz nicht ⟨gerichtet⟩. (Eph 5,9; Kol 3,12; 1Tim 1,9)24Die aber dem Christus Jesus angehören, haben das Fleisch samt den Leidenschaften und Begierden gekreuzigt. (Röm 6,6)25Wenn wir durch den Geist leben, so lasst uns dem Geist folgen! (Gal 5,16; Kol 2,6)26Lasst uns nicht nach eitler Ehre trachten, indem wir einander herausfordern, einander beneiden! (Mt 20,24; Phil 2,3)

Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. (1Kor 8,9; 1Kor 9,19; 1Petr 2,16; 2Petr 2,19; Jud 1,4)14For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (3Mo 6,2; 3Mo 19,18; Mt 7,12; Mt 19,19; Mt 22,40; Joh 13,34; Gal 5,22)15But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another. Keep in Step with the Spirit
16But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. (Röm 8,4; Röm 13,14; Gal 5,24; Eph 2,3)17For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. (Röm 7,15; Röm 7,18; Röm 7,19; Röm 7,23; Röm 8,5)18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. (Röm 7,4; Röm 8,14)19Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, (Mt 15,18; 1Kor 3,3; Eph 5,3; Kol 3,5; Jak 3,14; Jak 3,15)20idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, (1Kor 11,19)21envy,[4] drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do[5] such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. (1Kor 6,9; Kol 3,6)22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, (Röm 5,1; Röm 7,4; Röm 8,5; 2Kor 6,6; Eph 5,9; Kol 3,12)23gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (Apg 24,25; Eph 4,2; 1Tim 1,9)24And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. (Röm 6,6; Röm 7,5; Gal 5,16)25If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. (Gal 5,16)26Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. (Phil 2,3)

Por lo tanto, manténganse firmes[1] y no se sometan nuevamente al yugo de esclavitud.2Escuchen bien: yo, Pablo, les digo que si se hacen circuncidar, Cristo no les servirá de nada.3De nuevo declaro que todo el que se hace circuncidar está obligado a practicar toda la ley.4Aquellos de entre ustedes que tratan de ser justificados por la ley, han roto con Cristo; han caído de la gracia.5Nosotros, en cambio, por obra del Espíritu y mediante la fe, aguardamos con ansias la justicia que es nuestra esperanza.6En Cristo Jesús de nada vale estar o no estar circuncidados; lo que vale es la fe que actúa mediante el amor.7Ustedes estaban corriendo bien. ¿Quién los estorbó para que dejaran de obedecer a la verdad?8Tal instigación no puede venir de Dios, que es quien los ha llamado.9«Un poco de levadura fermenta toda la masa.»10Yo por mi parte confío en el Señor que ustedes no pensarán de otra manera. El que los está perturbando será castigado, sea quien sea.11Hermanos, si es verdad que yo todavía predico la circuncisión, ¿por qué se me sigue persiguiendo? Si tal fuera mi predicación, la cruz no ofendería tanto.12¡Ojalá que esos instigadores acabaran por mutilarse del todo!13Les hablo así, hermanos, porque ustedes han sido llamados a ser libres; pero no se valgan de esa libertad para dar rienda suelta a sus pasiones. Más bien sírvanse unos a otros con amor.14En efecto, toda la ley se resume en un solo mandamiento: «Ama a tu prójimo como a ti mismo.»[2]15Pero si siguen mordiéndose y devorándose, tengan cuidado, no sea que acaben por destruirse unos a otros.
La vida por el Espíritu
16Así que les digo: Vivan por el Espíritu, y no seguirán los deseos de la naturaleza pecaminosa.17Porque ésta desea lo que es contrario al Espíritu, y el Espíritu desea lo que es contrario a ella. Los dos se oponen entre sí, de modo que ustedes no pueden hacer lo que quieren.18Pero si los guía el Espíritu, no están bajo la ley.19Las obras de la naturaleza pecaminosa se conocen bien: inmoralidad sexual, impureza y libertinaje;20idolatría y brujería; odio, discordia, celos, arrebatos de ira, rivalidades, disensiones, sectarismos21y envidia; borracheras, orgías, y otras cosas parecidas. Les advierto ahora, como antes lo hice, que los que practican tales cosas no heredarán el reino de Dios.22En cambio, el fruto del Espíritu es amor, alegría, paz, paciencia, amabilidad, bondad, fidelidad,23humildad y dominio propio. No hay ley que condene estas cosas.24Los que son de Cristo Jesús han crucificado la naturaleza pecaminosa, con sus pasiones y deseos.25Si el Espíritu nos da vida, andemos guiados por el Espíritu.26No dejemos que la vanidad nos lleve a irritarnos y a envidiarnos unos a otros.

von Società Biblica di Ginevra1Cristo ci ha liberati perché fossimo liberi; state dunque saldi e non vi lasciate porre di nuovo sotto il giogo della schiavitù.2Ecco, io, Paolo, vi dichiaro che se vi fate circoncidere, Cristo non vi gioverà a nulla.3Dichiaro di nuovo: ogni uomo che si fa circoncidere è obbligato a osservare tutta la legge.4Voi che volete essere giustificati dalla legge siete separati da Cristo; siete scaduti dalla grazia.5Poiché quanto a noi, è in spirito, per fede, che aspettiamo la speranza della giustizia.6Infatti, in Cristo Gesù non ha valore né la circoncisione né l’incirconcisione; quello che vale è la fede che opera per mezzo dell’amore.7Voi correvate bene; chi vi ha fermati perché non ubbidiate alla verità?8Una tale persuasione non viene da colui che vi chiama.9Un po’ di lievito fa lievitare tutta la pasta.10Riguardo a voi, io ho questa fiducia nel Signore, che non la penserete diversamente; ma colui che vi turba ne subirà la condanna, chiunque egli sia.11Quanto a me, fratelli, se io predico ancora la circoncisione, perché sono ancora perseguitato? Lo scandalo della croce sarebbe allora tolto via.12Si facciano pure evirare quelli che vi turbano!
La carne e lo Spirito
13Perché, fratelli, voi siete stati chiamati a libertà; soltanto non fate della libertà un’occasione per vivere secondo la carne, ma per mezzo dell’amore servite gli uni agli altri;14poiché tutta la legge è adempiuta in quest’unica parola: «Ama il tuo prossimo come te stesso»[1].15Ma se vi mordete e divorate gli uni gli altri, guardate di non essere consumati gli uni dagli altri.16Io dico: camminate secondo lo Spirito e non adempirete affatto i desideri della carne.17Perché la carne ha desideri contrari allo Spirito e lo Spirito ha desideri contrari alla carne; sono cose opposte tra di loro, in modo che non potete fare quello che vorreste.18Ma se siete guidati dallo Spirito, non siete sotto la legge.19Ora le opere della carne sono manifeste, e sono: fornicazione, impurità, dissolutezza,20idolatria, stregoneria, inimicizie, discordia, gelosia, ire, contese, divisioni, sètte,21invidie, ubriachezze, orge e altre simili cose; circa le quali, come vi ho già detto, vi preavviso: chi fa tali cose non erediterà il regno di Dio.22Il frutto dello Spirito invece è amore, gioia, pace, pazienza, benevolenza, bontà, fedeltà, mansuetudine, autocontrollo;23contro queste cose non c’è legge.24Quelli che sono di Cristo {Gesù} hanno crocifisso la carne con le sue passioni e i suoi desideri.25Se viviamo per lo Spirito, camminiamo altresì per lo Spirito.26Non siamo vanagloriosi, provocandoci e invidiandoci gli uni gli altri.
