Gottes große Taten in der Geschichte

1 Dankt dem HERRN, ruft seinen Namen an! Macht seine Taten bekannt unter den Völkern! 2 Singt für ihn, macht Musik für ihn, sprecht über alle seine Wundertaten! 3 Ihr könnt stolz darauf sein, dass ihr seinen heiligen Namen kennt! Von Herzen können sich die freuen, die nach dem HERRN fragen. 4 Fragt nach dem HERRN und nach seiner Macht, sucht stets seine Gegenwart! 5 Erinnert euch an die Wunder, die er getan hat, an seine Wunderzeichen und Urteilssprüche, 6 ihr, die Nachkommen von Abraham, seinem Diener, ihr Familie von Jakob, ihr, die er auserwählt hat. 7 Er ist der HERR, unser Gott. Auf der ganzen Erde gelten seine Beschlüsse. 8 Auf ewig denkt er an seinen Bund, an sein Wort, das er für Tausende von Generationen festlegte, 9 an das, was er Abraham zugesagt hat, und an sein Versprechen an Isaak. 10 Er hat es für Jakob als Lebensordnung gesetzt, ja, als ewigen Bund für Israel. 11 Er sagte: »Ich will dir das Land Kanaan geben als Erbbesitz, der euch zugeteilt ist.« 12 Als sie noch eine kleine Gruppe waren, nur wenige und als Fremde im Land, 13 als sie noch von Volk zu Volk zogen, von einem Königreich zum nächsten Volk, 14 da ließ er nicht zu, dass irgendjemand sie unterdrückte, ja, er wies ihretwegen Könige in die Schranken: 15 »Tastet die nicht an, die ich gesalbt habe, und tut meinen Boten nichts Böses an!« 16 Dann ließ er eine Hungersnot über das Land kommen, jeglichen Brotvorrat nahm er fort. 17 Einen Mann schickte er ihnen voraus, als Sklave wurde Josef verkauft. 18 Sie zwängten seine Füße in Fesseln und seinen Hals in Eisen, 19 bis zu der Zeit, als sein Wort sich erfüllte und die Aussagen, die der HERR ihm gegeben hatte, ihn bestätigten. 20 Er bewegte den König dazu, ihn freizulassen, den Herrscher über die Völker, und der befreite ihn. 21 Der setzte ihn als Herrn über seinen Haushalt ein, als Verwalter über all seinen Besitz. 22 Er sollte die Stammesfürsten von ihm abhängig machen und seine Ältesten in der Weisheit unterrichten. 23 Da kam Israel nach Ägypten, ja, die Familie Jakobs lebte als Fremde im Land von Ham. 24 Da ließ er sein Volk sich stark vermehren und machte es stärker als seine Unterdrücker. 25 Da ließ er es geschehen, dass ihr Herz sein Volk hasste und dass sie üble Dinge gegen seine Diener ausheckten. 26 Da sandte er Mose, seinen Diener, und Aaron, den er auserwählt hatte. 27 Die vollbrachten unter ihnen seine gewaltigen Zeichen, ja, Wundertaten im Land von Ham. 28 Er schickte die Finsternis, da wurde es dunkel, doch nein! Sie widerstrebten seinen Worten! 29 Er verwandelte ihre Wasserströme in Blut und ließ ihre Fische umkommen. 30 Da wimmelte das Land von Fröschen, sogar in den Zimmern der Königsfamilie! 31 Er befahl es und da kamen Insektenschwärme, Stechmücken waren in ihrem ganzen Wohngebiet. 32 Statt Regen schickte er Hagel, Feuerflammen in ihr Land. 33 Ja, er zerschlug ihre Weinstöcke und Feigenbäume und zerbrach die Bäume in der ganzen Umgebung. 34 Er sprach, da kamen Heuschrecken, ja, Wanderheuschrecken ohne Zahl. 35 Sie vertilgten alles Grüne in ihrem Land und fraßen die Früchte ihres Ackerbodens. 36 Da ließ er alle Erstgeborenen in ihrem Land umkommen, die Kinder, die sie schon in jungen Jahren bekommen hatten. 37 Er führte sie heraus, beladen mit Silber und Gold, da war niemand unter seinen Stämmen, der stolperte. 38 Ganz Ägypten freute sich, als sie auszogen, denn der Schrecken vor ihnen hatte sie ergriffen. 39 Eine Wolke formte er, um sie zu bedecken, und ein Feuer, das die Nacht erhellte. 40 Als sie darum baten, ließ er Wachteln kommen und Brot aus dem Himmel, um sie zu ernähren. 41 Er spaltete einen Felsen, da quoll Wasser hervor, ein Strom ergoss sich in die Wüste. 42 Denn er dachte an sein heiliges Wort und an Abraham, seinen Diener. 43 So führte er sein Volk heraus mit Freudengesang, seine Auserwählten mit Jubelrufen. 44 Er gab ihnen die Länder fremder Völker; was andere Völker aufgebaut hatten, nahmen sie in Besitz. 45 Das geschah, damit sie seine Gebote beachteten und seine Weisungen befolgten. 2 Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works!
