1Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! (诗100:5; 诗105:1)2Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble[1] (诗106:10; 赛62:12; 赛63:4)3and gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south. (申30:3; 诗106:47; 赛11:12; 赛43:5; 赛56:8; 耶29:14; 耶31:8; 耶31:10; 结20:34; 结20:41; 结39:27)4Some wandered in desert wastes, finding no way to a city to dwell in; (申32:10; 诗107:36; 诗107:40)5hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted within them. (诗77:3)6Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. (诗106:44; 诗107:13; 诗107:19; 诗107:28)7He led them by a straight way till they reached a city to dwell in. (拉8:21; 诗107:4)8Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! (诗107:15; 诗107:21; 诗107:31)9For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things. (诗34:10; 诗146:7; 路1:53)10Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, prisoners in affliction and in irons, (伯10:21; 伯36:8; 诗107:14; 赛42:7; 赛49:9; 弥7:8; 路1:79)11for they had rebelled against the words of God, and spurned the counsel of the Most High. (申31:20; 诗78:40; 诗106:7; 诗106:33; 诗106:43; 箴1:30; 箴5:12; 箴15:5; 路7:30)12So he bowed their hearts down with hard labor; they fell down, with none to help. (诗22:11)13Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. (诗107:6; 诗107:19; 诗107:28)14He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and burst their bonds apart. (诗2:3; 诗107:10)15Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! (诗107:8; 诗107:21; 诗107:31)16For he shatters the doors of bronze and cuts in two the bars of iron. (赛45:2)17Some were fools through their sinful ways, and because of their iniquities suffered affliction; (箴1:7; 箴14:9)18they loathed any kind of food, and they drew near to the gates of death. (伯33:20; 伯33:22; 伯38:17; 诗88:3)19Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. (诗107:6; 诗107:13; 诗107:28)20He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction. (王下20:5; 伯33:29; 诗30:2; 诗103:4; 诗147:15; 诗147:18; 太8:8)21Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! (诗107:8; 诗107:15; 诗107:31)22And let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, and tell of his deeds in songs of joy! (诗9:11; 诗50:14; 诗105:43; 诗118:17)23Some went down to the sea in ships, doing business on the great waters; (赛42:10)24they saw the deeds of the Lord, his wondrous works in the deep.25For he commanded and raised the stormy wind, which lifted up the waves of the sea. (诗105:31; 诗105:34; 诗148:8; 拿1:4)26They mounted up to heaven; they went down to the depths; their courage melted away in their evil plight; (诗22:14; 诗119:28)27they reeled and staggered like drunken men and were at their wits’ end.[2] (伯12:25; 赛19:3; 赛24:20; 赛29:9)28Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. (诗107:6; 诗107:13; 诗107:19)29He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed. (诗65:7)30Then they were glad that the waters[3] were quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven.31Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! (诗107:8; 诗107:15; 诗107:21)32Let them extol him in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders. (诗22:22; 诗22:25; 诗99:5)33He turns rivers into a desert, springs of water into thirsty ground, (赛42:15; 赛50:2)34a fruitful land into a salty waste, because of the evil of its inhabitants. (创13:10; 创14:3; 创19:24; 申29:23)35He turns a desert into pools of water, a parched land into springs of water. (伯38:26; 诗114:8; 赛35:6; 赛41:18; 赛43:19)36And there he lets the hungry dwell, and they establish a city to live in; (诗107:4; 诗107:7)37they sow fields and plant vineyards and get a fruitful yield.38By his blessing they multiply greatly, and he does not let their livestock diminish. (创12:2; 创17:20; 出1:7)39When they are diminished and brought low through oppression, evil, and sorrow,40he pours contempt on princes and makes them wander in trackless wastes; (申32:10; 伯12:21; 伯12:24)41but he raises up the needy out of affliction and makes their families like flocks. (撒上2:8; 伯21:11; 诗113:7)42The upright see it and are glad, and all wickedness shuts its mouth. (伯22:19; 诗63:11)43Whoever is wise, let him attend to these things; let them consider the steadfast love of the Lord. (诗64:9; 耶9:12; 何14:9)
