1 Ne nás, Hospodine, ne nás, ale svoje jméno oslav pro své milosrdenství a pro svou věrnost! 2 Proč by měly pronárody říkat: „Kde je ten jejich Bůh?“ 3 Náš Bůh je v nebesích a všechno, co chce, koná. 4 Jejich modly jsou stříbro a zlato, dílo lidských rukou. 5 Mají ústa, a nemluví, mají oči, a nevidí, 6 mají uši, a neslyší, mají nosy, a necítí, 7 rukama nemohou hmatat, nohama nemohou chodit, z hrdla nevydají hlásku. 8 Jim jsou podobni ti, kdo je zhotovují, každý, kdo v ně doufá. 9 Izraeli, doufej v Hospodina, je tvou pomocí a štítem. 10 Áronův dome, doufej v Hospodina, je tvou pomocí a štítem. 11 Vy, kdo se bojíte Hospodina, doufejte v Hospodina, je vám pomocí a štítem. 12 Hospodin na nás pamatuje, on nám žehná: žehná domu Izraele, žehná domu Áronovu, 13 žehná těm, kteří se bojí Hospodina, jak malým, tak velkým. 14 Hospodin ať vás rozmnoží, vás i vaše syny! 15 Jste Hospodinovi požehnaní; on učinil nebesa i zemi. 16 Nebesa, ta patří Hospodinu, zemi dal však lidem. 17 Mrtví nechválí už Hospodina, nikdo z těch, kdo sestupují v říši ticha. 18 Avšak my budeme Hospodinu dobrořečit nyní i navěky.
