1 你们要接纳信心软弱的弟兄姊妹,不要因为看法不同便彼此批评。2 有人相信什么都可以吃,但信心软弱的人只吃素菜。3 吃的人不可轻看不吃的人,不吃的人也不可批评吃的人,因为两者都蒙上帝接纳。4 你是谁,竟然批评别人的仆人?他做得是否合宜,自然有他的主人负责。他必能做得合宜,因为主能使他做得合宜。5 有人认为这日比那日好,有人认为天天都一样,各人应该照着自己的信念拿定主意。6 守日子的人是为主而守,吃的人是为主而吃,因为他感谢上帝;不吃的人是为主不吃,他也同样感谢上帝。7 因为我们没有人为自己活,也没有人为自己死。8 我们活是为主而活,死是为主而死。因此,我们无论生死都是属主的人。9 正是为这个缘故,基督死了,又复活了,好做死人和活人的主。10 那么,你为什么论断弟兄姊妹呢?为什么轻视弟兄姊妹呢?将来我们都要一同站在上帝的审判台前。11 圣经上说:“主说,‘我凭我的永恒起誓,万膝必向我跪拜,万口必称颂上帝。’”12 这样看来,我们各人都要在上帝面前陈明自己一切的事。13 所以,我们不可再互相论断,要留心自己的言行,不要绊倒弟兄姊妹。14 我知道并靠着主耶稣深信,没有什么是不洁净的,但若有人以为某物不洁净,那物对他来说就不洁净。15 如果你吃的东西令弟兄姊妹不安,你就不是凭爱心行事。你不可因为一点食物而损害基督舍命救赎的人。16 所以,不要让你们认为好的事被别人诟病。17 因为上帝的国不是关乎吃什么喝什么,而是关乎公义、平安和圣灵所赐的喜乐。18 以这样的态度事奉基督的人才会得到上帝的喜悦和大家的称赞。19 所以,我们要努力追求和睦,彼此造就。20 不可因食物的问题而破坏上帝的工作。所有的食物固然都是洁净的,但人若因所吃的食物绊倒别人,就有罪了。21 无论是吃肉、喝酒还是做任何别的事,如果会绊倒别人,就应该一概不做。22 你有信心认为可以做的,只要你和上帝知道就可以了。人如果在自己认为可以做的事上问心无愧,就有福了。23 人如果心里疑惑,却仍然吃,就有罪了,因为他不是凭信心吃。凡不凭信心去做的,就是犯罪。

1 As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. (羅15:1; 林前8:9; 林前9:22)2 One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. (羅14:14)3 Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. (西2:16)4 Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master[1] that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand. (雅4:12)5 One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. (亚7:5; 羅14:23; 加4:10)6 The one who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord. The one who eats, eats in honor of the Lord, since he gives thanks to God, while the one who abstains, abstains in honor of the Lord and gives thanks to God. (太15:36; 林前10:30; 提前4:3)7 For none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. (林前6:19; 林后5:15; 加2:20; 帖前5:10; 彼前4:2)8 For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. Or you, why do you despise your brother? (羅14:14; 羅14:15; 林前8:9; 多1:15)21 It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that causes your brother to stumble.[3] (林前8:13)22 The faith that you have, keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the one who has no reason to pass judgment on himself for what he approves. (约一3:21)23 But whoever has doubts is condemned if he eats, because the eating is not from faith. For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.[4]
