Завещанието на Иисус Навин

1 След това Иисус събра всичките Израилеви племена в Сихем. Той повика Израилевите стареи, предводителите му, съдиите му и надзорниците му и те застанаха пред Господа. 2 Тогава Иисус каза на целия народ: „Така говори Господ, Израилевият Бог: „Вашите предци Тара, баща на Авраам и баща на Нахор, живееха в старо време отвъд реката и служеха на други богове. Той е, Който изведе нас и предците ни от египетската земя, от дома на робството, Който извърши пред очите ни тези големи знамения. Той ни пази по целия път, по който вървяхме, и сред всички народи, през които преминавахме. 18 И Господ беше, Който прогони заради нас аморейците, т. е. всички народи, които живееха в тази страна. Защото на Господа ще служим.“ 22 Тогава Иисус каза на народа: „Вие сте свидетели за себе си, че си избрахте Господа, за да Му служите.“ Те отговориха: „Свидетели сме.“ 23 „И така, отхвърлете чуждите богове, които са между вас, и обърнете сърцата си към Господа, Израилевия Бог.“ 24 И народът каза на Иисус: „На Господа, нашия Бог, ще служим и гласа Му ще слушаме.“ 25 В същия ден Иисус сключи завет с народа и му даде закони и съд в Сихем пред скинията на Господа, Израилевия Бог. 26 Тогава Иисус написа тези думи в книгата на Божия закон. Той взе голям камък и го изправи там под дъба, който е при светилището на Господа. The Covenant Renewal at Shechem

16 Then the people answered, “Far be it from us that we should forsake the Lord to serve other gods, 17 for it is the Lord our God who brought us and our fathers up from the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery, and who did those great signs in our sight and preserved us in all the way that we went, and among all the peoples through whom we passed. 18 And the Lord drove out before us all the peoples, the Amorites who lived in the land. Therefore we also will serve the Lord, for he is our God.” 19 But Joshua said to the people, “You are not able to serve the Lord, for he is a holy God. Joshua’s Death and Burial

29 After these things Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died, being 110 years old. (Съд 2:7) 30 And they buried him in his own inheritance at Timnath-serah, which is in the hill country of Ephraim, north of the mountain of Gaash. (И Н 19:50) 31 Israel served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua and had known all the work that the Lord did for Israel.
