1Павел пристигна в Дерва и Листра, където имаше някой си вярващ на име Тимотей, син на една юдейка, която бе повярвала, и на баща елин. Апостол Павел отива в Европа
6След това те преминаха през Фригия и Галатийската област, понеже не бяха допуснати от Светия Дух да проповядват словото в Мала Азия.7Като стигнаха Мизия, опитаха се да отидат във Витиния, но Духът[1] не ги пусна.8И като минаха през Мизия, отидоха в Троада.9През нощта на Павел се яви видение: пред него стоеше един мъж от Македония, който го молеше с думите: „Премини в Македония и ни помогни!“10Веднага след видението поискахме да тръгнем за Македония, понеже разбрахме, че Господ ни е призовал да благовестим там.
Проповед във Филипи
11И тъй, като отплавахме от Троада, стигнахме направо в Самотраки, на другия ден – в Неапол[2],12а оттам – във Филипи – първа римска колония в тази част на Македония. В този град престояхме няколко дена.13А в съботата излязохме извън града при една река, където имаха обичай да се молят, седнахме и говорехме на събралите се жени.14Слушаше и една богобоязлива жена на име Лидия от град Тиатира, която продаваше пурпурни платове. И Господ и отвори сърцето внимателно да се вслушва в това, което говореше Павел.15Когато тя и домашните и се кръстиха, тя ни покани с думите: „Ако смятате, че съм истински вярваща в Господа, влезте и живейте в къщата ми.“ И ни убеди.
Апостолите Павел и Сила в затвора
16Като отивахме на молитва, срещнахме една слугиня, обладана от дух на предсказание, която докарваше голяма печалба на своите господари с гадаенето си.17Тя вървеше след Павел и след нас и викаше: „Тези хора са слуги на Всевишния Бог и ни[3] възвестяват път за спасение.“ (Лк 4:41)18Това тя правеше в продължение на много дни, докато Павел се обърна отегчен и рече на духа: „В името на Иисус Христос, заповядвам ти да излезеш от нея.“ И духът излезе в същия миг. Веднага всички врати се отвориха и оковите на всички паднаха.27А тъмничарят, като се събуди и видя, че вратите на тъмницата са отворени, извади нож и искаше да се убие, понеже мислеше, че затворниците са избягали.28Но Павел извика високо: „Не си причинявай зло, ние всички сме тук!“29Той поиска светлина, втурна се и разтреперан падна пред Павел и Сила.30И като ги изведе вън, каза: „Господари, какво трябва да направя, за да се спася?“ (Д А 2:37)31А те отговориха: „Повярвай в Господ Иисус Христос и ще се спасите ти и твоят дом.“32И възвестиха словото на Господа на него и на всички, която бяха в къщата му.33Тъмничарят ги прибра в същия нощен час, уми раните им и веднага се кръстиха сам той и всичките му близки. (Д А 18:8)34И като ги заведе в къщата си, сложи им трапеза и се зарадва с целия си дом, че бе повярвал в Бога.35А когато се съмна, управниците изпратиха съдебни служители със заповед: „Освободи онези хора.“36Тъмничарят съобщи за това на Павел: „Управниците изпратиха да ви освободим. Затова излезте сега и си отидете с мир.“37Но Павел им рече: „Нас, макар и римски граждани, ни биха пред народа без съд и ни хвърлиха в тъмница, а сега тайно ли ни пускат? (Йн 21:23)3Paul wanted Timothy to accompany him, and he took him and circumcised him because of the Jews who were in those places, for they all knew that his father was a Greek. (Гал 2:3)4As they went on their way through the cities, they delivered to them for observance the decisions that had been reached by the apostles and elders who were in Jerusalem. The Macedonian Call
6And they went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia. (Д А 18:23; Гал 4:13)7And when they had come up to Mysia, they attempted to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them. (Д А 8:29; Д А 16:6; Рим 8:9; Гал 4:6; Фил 1:19; 1 Пет 1:11)8So, passing by Mysia, they went down to Troas. (Д А 20:5; 2 Кор 2:12; 2 Тим 4:13)9And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing there, urging him and saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.”10And when Paul[3] had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go on into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them. The Conversion of Lydia
11So, setting sail from Troas, we made a direct voyage to Samothrace, and the following day to Neapolis, (Д А 21:1)12and from there to Philippi, which is a leading city of the[4] district of Macedonia and a Roman colony. We remained in this city some days. (Д А 16:21; Фил 1:1; 1 Сол 2:2)13And on the Sabbath day we went outside the gate to the riverside, where we supposed there was a place of prayer, and we sat down and spoke to the women who had come together. (Езд 8:15; Езд 8:21; Пс 137:1; Мт 5:1; Д А 13:14)14One who heard us was a woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple goods, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to pay attention to what was said by Paul. (Лк 24:45; Д А 18:7)15And after she was baptized, and her household as well, she urged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay.” And she prevailed upon us. Paul and Silas in Prison
16As we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit of divination and brought her owners much gain by fortune-telling. (Лев 19:31; Лк 13:11; Д А 16:13; Д А 16:19)17She followed Paul and us, crying out, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to you the way of salvation.” (Дан 3:26; Мт 7:14; Мк 5:7; Д А 9:2; Як 2:19)18And this she kept doing for many days. Paul, having become greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And it came out that very hour. (Мт 17:18; Мк 1:25; Мк 1:34; Мк 9:38)19But when her owners saw that their hope of gain was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace before the rulers. (2 Кор 6:5; 2 Кор 11:23; 1 Сол 2:2)23And when they had inflicted many blows upon them, they threw them into prison, ordering the jailer to keep them safely.24Having received this order, he put them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks. The Philippian Jailer Converted
25About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them, (Йов 35:10; Пс 42:8; Пс 77:6; Пс 119:62)26and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s bonds were unfastened. (Д А 4:31; Д А 5:19; Д А 12:7; Д А 12:10)27When the jailer woke and saw that the prison doors were open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped. (3 Цар 20:39; Д А 12:19; Д А 27:42)28But Paul cried with a loud voice, “Do not harm yourself, for we are all here.”29And the jailer[5] called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas. (Д А 10:25)30Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” (Лк 3:10; Лк 3:12; Лк 3:14; Йн 6:28; Д А 2:37; Д А 16:17; Д А 22:10)31And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” (Мк 16:16; Д А 11:14)32And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house.33And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds; and he was baptized at once, he and all his family. (Д А 8:12; Д А 16:25)34Then he brought them up into his house and set food before them. And he rejoiced along with his entire household that he had believed in God. (Пс 9:14; Пс 13:5; Ис 25:9; Лк 1:47; Д А 2:46; 1 Пет 1:6; 1 Пет 1:8)35But when it was day, the magistrates sent the police, saying, “Let those men go.”36And the jailer reported these words to Paul, saying, “The magistrates have sent to let you go. Therefore come out now and go in peace.”37But Paul said to them, “They have beaten us publicly, uncondemned, men who are Roman citizens, and have thrown us into prison; and do they now throw us out secretly? No! Let them come themselves and take us out.” (Д А 22:25; Д А 22:29)38The police reported these words to the magistrates, and they were afraid when they heard that they were Roman citizens. (Д А 16:37)39So they came and apologized to them. And they took them out and asked them to leave the city. (Мт 8:34)40So they went out of the prison and visited Lydia. And when they had seen the brothers, they encouraged them and departed. (Йн 21:23; Д А 16:14)
