Cántico gradual. De David.

1 De no haber estado YHVH por nosotros, Diga ahora Israel: 

2 De no haber estado YHVH por nosotros, Cuando los hombres se levantaron contra nosotros, 

3 Nos habrían tragado vivos, Cuando su ira se encendió contra nosotros, 

4 Entonces nos habrían anegado las aguas, Y el torrente nos llegaría al cuello; 

5 Las aguas impetuosas habrían pasado sobre nosotros. 

6 ¡Bendito sea YHVH, Que no nos entregó por presa de sus dientes! 

7 Como el pájaro que escapa de la trampa del pajarero, así escapó nuestra alma; ¡La trampa fue rota, y hemos escapado! 

8 Nuestro socorro está en el nombre de YHVH, Que hizo los cielos y la tierra.

Our Help Is in the Name of the Lord

A Song of Ascents. Of David.

1 If it had not been the LORD who was on our side— let Israel now say— (Sal 94:17; Sal 129:1) 

2 if it had not been the LORD who was on our side when people rose up against us, 

3 then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their anger was kindled against us; (Sal 56:1) 

4 then the flood would have swept us away, the torrent would have gone over us; (Job 22:11; Sal 32:6; Sal 69:1; Sal 69:2; Is 8:8) 

5 then over us would have gone the raging waters. 

6 Blessed be the LORD, who has not given us as prey to their teeth! 

7 We have escaped like a bird from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped! (Sal 91:3) 

8 Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth. (Sal 121:2)
