1 No envidies a los malvados, Ni desees estar con ellos, 2 Porque su corazón trama violencia, Y sus labios hablan agravios. 3 Con la sabiduría se edifica una casa, Con la prudencia se afirma, 4 Y con el conocimiento sus habitaciones son llenadas De ornamentos muy preciados. 5 El varón sabio es fuerte, Y el hombre docto aumenta su poder. 6 Con sabios consejos harás tu guerra, Y en la multitud de consejeros habrá victoria. 7 La sabiduría está demasiado alta para el necio, En la puerta no abrirá su boca. 8 Al que trama el mal, Lo llamarán forjador de intrigas. 9 El pensamiento del insensato es pecado, Y el insolente es detestado por los hombres. 10 Si en el día de la adversidad flaqueas, ¡Ciertamente eres débil! 11 ¡Libra a los que son arrastrados a la muerte! ¡Rescata a los que están por ser degollados! 12 Si dices: He aquí, no lo sabíamos. El que sopesa los corazones, ¿no lo sabrá? ¿No lo sabrá el que vigila tu vida, Y paga al hombre según sus obras? 13 Come miel hijo mío, pues es buena, Sí, el panal es dulce a tu paladar. 14 Así será, sábelo, la sabiduría para tu alma, Si la hallas, habrá un porvenir, Y tu esperanza no será frustrada. 15 ¡Oh impío!, no aceches la tienda del justo, Ni saquees su recámara, 16 Porque aunque caiga siete veces, se levantará, Pero los impíos tropiezan y caen en la adversidad. 17 Si tu enemigo cae, no te alegres, Y si tropieza, no se regocije tu corazón, 18 No sea que YHVH lo vea y le desagrade, Y de él revierta su ira hacia ti. 19 No te impacientes a causa de los malignos, Ni tengas envidia de los impíos, 20 Porque para el malo no habrá buen fin, Y la lámpara de los impíos será apagada. 21 Hijo mío: Teme a YHVH, y también al rey, Y no te asocies con los sediciosos, 22 Porque su calamidad viene de repente, Y el castigo que proviene de ambos, ¿quién lo conocerá? 23 Esto también pertenece a los sabios: No es bueno hacer acepción de personas en el juicio. 24 El que dice al rey malo: Justo eres, Los pueblos lo maldecirán, Y lo execrarán las naciones. 25 Pero para quienes deciden con justicia habrá complacencia, Y una gran bendición vendrá sobre ellos. 26 Besa los labios Quien da respuesta oportuna. 27 Prepara tus labores de fuera, Y disponlas en el campo para ti, Y después edifica tu casa. 28 No atestigües negligentemente contra tu prójimo, Ni engañes con tus labios. 29 No digas: Le haré a él como él me hizo a mí, Le retribuiré conforme a su obra. 30 Pasé junto al campo del perezoso, Por la viña de un hombre sin entendimiento, 31 Y he aquí todo estaba cubierto de espinas, Su faz estaba cubierta de ortigas, Y su muro de piedra, derribado. 32 Al verlo, reflexioné. Lo vi, y aprendí la lección: 33 Un poco de soñar, un poco de dormitar, Un poco de cruzar las manos para descansar, 34 Y tu miseria te sobrevendrá como la del vagabundo, Y tu indigencia como la del mendigo.

(Sal 10:7; Is 59:13) 3 By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; (Pr 14:1) 4 by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. (Pr 23:23; Lc 16:11) 5 A wise man is full of strength, and a man of knowledge enhances his might, (Pr 21:22) 6 for by wise guidance you can wage your war, and in abundance of counselors there is victory. (Pr 11:14; Pr 20:18) 7 Wisdom is too high for a fool; in the gate he does not open his mouth. (Job 5:4; Pr 14:6) 8 Whoever plans to do evil will be called a schemer. (Heb 12:3) 11 Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. 14 Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off. (Pr 23:18) 15 Lie not in wait as a wicked man against the dwelling of the righteous; do no violence to his home; (Sal 10:9) 16 for the righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity. 18 lest the Lord see it and be displeased, and turn away his anger from him. 19 Fret not yourself because of evildoers, and be not envious of the wicked, (Sal 37:1; Pr 24:1; Jer 12:1) 20 for the evil man has no future; the lamp of the wicked will be put out. (Job 18:5; Pr 13:9; Pr 24:14) 21 My son, fear the Lord and the king, and do not join with those who do otherwise, (Ro 13:7; 1 P 2:17) 22 for disaster will arise suddenly from them, and who knows the ruin that will come from them both?

23 These also are sayings of the wise. Partiality in judging is not good.
