1Por tanto, si hay alguna consolación en el Mesías, si alguna exhortación de amor, si alguna comunión del Espíritu, si algún afecto entrañable de misericordia,2completad mi gozo, para que seáis de un mismo sentir, teniendo un mismo amor, unánimes, teniendo los mismos sentimientos.3Nada hagáis por rivalidad ni por vanagloria, sino con humildad, considerándoos los unos a los otros como superiores a vosotros mismos.4No mirando cada cual por su propio interés, sino también por el de los demás.5Considerad entre vosotros lo que hubo también en Jesús el Mesías,6el cual, existiendo en forma de Dios, no quiso por usurpación ser igual con Dios,7sino que se despojó a sí mismo tomando forma de siervo, hecho semejante a los hombres;8y hallándose en la condición de hombre, se humilló a sí mismo al hacerse obediente hasta la muerte, y muerte de cruz.9Por lo cual Dios también lo exaltó hasta lo sumo, y le dio el nombre que es sobre todo nombre;10para que en el nombre de Jesús se doble toda rodilla de los que están en los cielos, y en la tierra, y debajo de la tierra,11y toda lengua confiese que Jesús el Mesías es el Señor para gloria de Dios Padre.
Regocijo de Pablo
12Por tanto, amados míos, como siempre obedecisteis, no sólo en mi presencia, sino mucho más ahora en mi ausencia, alistad vuestra propia salvación con temor y temblor.13Porque Dios es el que activa en vosotros tanto el querer como el hacer, por su buena voluntad.14Haced todo sin murmuraciones ni discusiones,15para que seáis irreprensibles y sencillos, hijos de Dios sin tacha en medio de una generación perversa y depravada, entre los cuales resplandecéis como luminares en el mundo,16aferrados a la palabra de vida, para gloria mía en el día del Mesías de que no corrí en vano, ni en vano me fatigué.17Y aunque soy derramado como libación sobre el sacrificio y servicio de vuestra fe, me regocijo y comparto mi gozo con todos vosotros.18Así también vosotros, regocijaos y compartid vuestro gozo conmigo.

19Espero en el Señor Jesús enviaros pronto a Timoteo, para que yo también me anime al saber de vosotros.20Porque a ninguno tengo de iguales sentimientos, quien genuinamente se interesará por vuestras cosas,21porque todos buscan lo suyo propio, no las cosas que son de Jesús el Mesías.22Pero conocéis su carácter, que como un hijo a su padre ha servido conmigo en el evangelio.23Así que a éste espero enviaros, tan pronto como vea clara mi situación;24y confío en el Señor que yo mismo iré pronto a vosotros.25Sin embargo, consideré necesario enviaros a Epafrodito, mi hermano y colaborador y compañero de milicia, y vuestro enviado, y ministrador de mi necesidad,26puesto que estaba anhelándoos a todos vosotros y afligido porque oísteis que él había enfermado.27Y ciertamente estuvo enfermo, a las puertas de la muerte, pero Dios tuvo misericordia de él, y no sólo de él, sino también de mí, para no tener tristeza sobre tristeza.28Así que lo envío con gran urgencia, para que al verlo os volváis a regocijar, y yo esté menos triste.29Recibidlo pues en el Señor con todo gozo, y tened en alta estima a los que son como él,30porque a causa de la obra del Mesías estuvo al borde de la muerte, exponiendo su vida para completar lo que faltaba en vuestro servicio por mí.

Lights in the World
12Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, (2 Co 10:5; Flp 1:5; Flp 4:15; Heb 5:9; 1 P 1:2)13for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. Timothy and Epaphroditus
19I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, so that I too may be cheered by news of you. (1 Co 4:17; 1 Ts 3:2)20For I have no one like him, who will be genuinely concerned for your welfare. (1 Co 16:10)21For they all seek their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ. (1 Co 10:24; 2 Ti 3:2)22But you know Timothy’s[4] proven worth, how as a son[5] with a father he has served with me in the gospel. (1 Co 4:17; 2 Co 2:9; 1 Ti 1:2; 2 Ti 1:2; 2 Ti 3:10)23I hope therefore to send him just as soon as I see how it will go with me,24and I trust in the Lord that shortly I myself will come also. (Flp 1:25; Flm 1:22)25I have thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus my brother and fellow worker and fellow soldier, and your messenger and minister to my need, (Flp 4:18; Flm 1:2)26for he has been longing for you all and has been distressed because you heard that he was ill.27Indeed he was ill, near to death. But God had mercy on him, and not only on him but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.28I am the more eager to send him, therefore, that you may rejoice at seeing him again, and that I may be less anxious.29So receive him in the Lord with all joy, and honor such men, (Ro 16:2; 1 Co 16:18; 1 Ts 5:12; 1 Ti 5:17)30for he nearly died[6] for the work of Christ, risking his life to complete what was lacking in your service to me.
