Bøn om hjælp

1 En sang af David. Herre, jeg råber til dig om hjælp, for du er min eneste redning. Hvis du ikke griber ind, må jeg se døden i øjnene. 

2 Herre, lyt til min bøn om nåde, jeg råber til dig om hjælp med løftede hænder mod din helligdom. 

3 Lad mig ikke ende som de ondskabsfulde, der taler venligt til folk, mens de udtænker onde planer. 

4 Giv dem den straf, de fortjener, lad dem lide for deres grusomme handlinger. Straf dem for al deres ondskab. 

5 De ænser ikke Guds veje, de følger ikke hans bud. Derfor vil Gud rive dem ned som et hus, der aldrig skal genopbygges. 

6 Lovet være Herren, for han har hørt min bøn. 

7 Han er min styrke og mit skjold, jeg stoler på ham af hele mit hjerte. Når han hjælper, fyldes jeg med glæde, mit hjerte jubler af lovsang til ham. 

8 Herren bevarer sit folk, han giver sejr til sin udvalgte konge. 

9 Herre, befri dit folk, velsign dem, der hører dig til. Vær som en hyrde for dem, bær dem i dine arme for evigt!

1 Of David. To you, O Lord, I call; my rock, be not deaf to me, lest, if you be silent to me, I become like those who go down to the pit. (Salm 18,2; Salm 35,22; Salm 39,12; Salm 83,1; Salm 88,4; Salm 109,1; Salm 143,7) 

2 Hear the voice of my pleas for mercy, when I cry to you for help, when I lift up my hands toward your most holy sanctuary. (1.Kong 8,29; Salm 5,7; Salm 119,48; Salm 134,2; Salm 138,2; Salm 140,6; Salm 141,2; Klag 2,19; 1.Tim 2,8)

5 Because they do not regard the works of the Lord or the work of his hands, he will tear them down and build them up no more. (Job 34,27; Es 5,12)
