1Takto řekl Hospodin: Jdi a zjednej báni záhrdlitou od hrnčíře, hliněnou, a pojma některé z starších lidu a z starších kněží,2Vejdi do údolí Benhinnom, kteréž jest u vrat brány východní, a ohlašuj tam slova ta, kteráž mluviti budu tobě.3A rci: Slyšte slovo Hospodinovo, králové Judští i obyvatelé Jeruzalémští: Takto praví Hospodin zástupů, Bůh Izraelský: Aj, já uvedu bídu na místo toto, o kteréž kdokoli uslyší, zníti mu bude v uších jeho,4Proto že mne opustili, a poškvrnili místa tohoto, kadíce na něm bohům cizím, jichž neznali oni, ani otcové jejich, ani králové Judští, a naplnili toto místo krví nevinných.5Vzdělali také výsosti Bálovi, aby pálili syny své ohněm v zápaly Bálovi, čehož jsem nepřikázal, aniž jsem o tom mluvil, nýbrž ani nevstoupilo na mé srdce.6Protož aj, dnové jdou, dí Hospodin, v nichž nebude slouti více toto místo Tofet, ani údolí Benhinnom, ale údolí mordu.7Nebo v nic obrátím radu Judovu i Jeruzalémských v místě tomto, způsobě to, aby padli od meče před nepřátely svými, a od ruky těch, kteříž hledají bezživotí jejich, i dám mrtvá těla jejich za pokrm ptactvu nebeskému a šelmám zemským.8Obrátím také město toto v poušť na odivu. Každý, kdožkoli půjde mimo ně, užasne se, a ckáti bude pro všelijaké rány jeho.9A způsobím to, že žráti budou maso synů svých a maso dcer svých, tolikéž jeden každý maso bližního svého žráti bude, v obležení a v ssoužení, kterýmž ssouží je nepřátelé jejich, a ti, kteříž hledají bezživotí jejich.10Potom roztluc tu záhrdlitou báni před očima těch lidí, kteříž půjdou s tebou,11A rci jim: Takto praví Hospodin zástupů: Tak potluku lid tento i město toto, jako ten, kdož rozráží nádobu hrnčířskou, kteráž nemůže opravena býti více, a v Tofet pochovávati budou, proto že nebude žádného místa ku pohřbu.12Tak učiním místu tomuto, dí Hospodin, i obyvatelům jeho, a naložím s městem tímto tak jako s Tofet.13Nebo budou domové Jeruzalémských i domové králů Judských tak jako toto místo Tofet zanečištěni se všechněmi domy těmi, na jejichž střechách kadili všemu vojsku nebeskému, a obětovali oběti mokré bohům cizím.14Tedy navrátiv se Jeremiáš z Tofet, kamž jej byl poslal Hospodin, aby prorokoval tam, postavil se v síňci domu Hospodinova, a řekl ke všemu lidu:15Takto praví Hospodin zástupů, Bůh Izraelský: Aj, já uvedu na město toto i na všecka města jeho všecko to zlé, kteréž jsem vyřkl proti němu; nebo zatvrdili šíji svou, aby neposlouchali slov mých.
— Znamení rozbitého džbánu - Jako se rozbije a odhodí nepotřebná nádoba, tak naloží Hospodin s lidem, který nechce napravit své cesty.
1 Toto praví Hospodin: „Jdi a kup u hrnčíře hliněnou lahvici a s některými staršími lidu a staršími z kněžstva2 vyjdi do Údolí syna Hinómova, které je před Střepnou branou, a volej tam slova, která k tobě budu mluvit.3 Řekni jim: Králové judští a obyvatelé Jeruzaléma, slyšte slovo Hospodinovo. Toto praví Hospodin zástupů, Bůh Izraele: Hle, já uvedu na toto místo zlo. Tomu, kdo o něm uslyší, bude znít v uších.4 Opustili mě, cizím mi učinili toto místo a pálili na něm kadidlo jiným bohům, které neznali oni ani jejich otcové ani judští králové, a toto místo naplnili krví nevinných.5 Vybudovali posvátná návrší Baalova, aby Baalovi jako zápalné oběti pálili v ohni své syny. K tomu jsem jim přece nedal příkaz, ani jsem o tom nemluvil, ani mi to na mysl nepřišlo. 6 Proto hle, přicházejí dny, je výrok Hospodinův, kdy toto místo se už nebude nazývat ‚Tófet‘ či ‚Údolí syna Hinómova‘, nýbrž ‚Údolí vraždění‘.7 Na tomto místě rozbiji na střepy záměr Judy a Jeruzaléma, způsobím to, že padnou mečem před svými nepřáteli, do rukou těch, kdo jim ukládají o život; jejich mrtvoly vydám za pokrm nebeskému ptactvu a zemskému zvířectvu.8 Způsobím, že toto město bude vzbuzovat úděs a posměch; každý kolemjdoucí nad všemi jeho ranami posměšně zasykne úžasem.9 Způsobím, že budou jíst maso svých synů a maso svých dcer, jeden bude požírat maso druhého v obležení a tísni, až je budou tísnit jejich nepřátelé a ti, kdo jim ukládají o život.10 Nato rozbiješ tu lahvici před muži, kteří půjdou s tebou,11 a řekneš jim: Toto praví Hospodin zástupů: Právě tak, jak se rozbíjí hliněná nádoba a nelze ji už opravit, rozbiji tento lid a toto město; v Tófetu se bude pohřbívat, protože jinde místo k pohřbívání nebude.12 Právě tak naložím s tímto místem, je výrok Hospodinův, a s jeho obyvateli. Učiním tomuto městu jako Tófetu.13 Domy v Jeruzalémě a domy judských králů budou nečisté jako místo Tófet; to se týká všech domů, na jejichž střechách se pálilo kadidlo veškerému nebeskému zástupu a konaly úlitby jiným bohům.“ 14 Když přišel Jeremjáš z Tófetu, kam jej Hospodin poslal prorokovat, postavil se na nádvoří Hospodinova domu a řekl všemu lidu:15„Toto praví Hospodin zástupů, Bůh Izraele: Hle, já uvedu na toto město i na všechna města kolem všechno zlo, které jsem nad ním vyhlásil, neboť jsou tvrdošíjní a neposlouchají má slova.“
1Hospodin řekl toto: „Jdi a kup od hrnčíře hliněný džbán. Vezmi s sebou několik stařešinů z lidu i z kněží2a vyjdi Branou střepů[1] do údolí Ben-hinom. Tam volej slova, která ti řeknu.3Volej: ‚Slyšte slovo Hospodinovo, králové Judy i obyvatelé Jeruzaléma! Tak praví Hospodin zástupů, Bůh Izraele: Hle, dopustím na toto místo takové neštěstí, že to nikomu, kdo o tom uslyší, nepřestane znít v uších.[2]4To proto, že mě opustili a toto místo mi odcizili. Pálili zde kadidlo cizím bohům, které neznali sami ani jejich otcové, ba ani judští králové, a naplnili toto místo krví nevinných.5Vystavěli také obětiště Baalovi, aby tam spalovali své vlastní děti jako zápalné oběti Baalovi – to jsem jim přece nepřikázal, o tom jsem nemluvil, to mi nepřišlo ani na mysl!6A proto hle, přicházejí dny, praví Hospodin, kdy už se tomuto místu nebude říkat Tofet ani údolí Ben-hinom, ale Údolí vraždění.[3]7Na tomto místě zmařím záměry Judských a Jeruzalémských. Nechám je před jejich nepřáteli padnout mečem v ruce těch, kdo pasou po jejich životě. Jejich mrtvolami nakrmím ptáky a divou zvěř.8Nechám toto město budit děs a posměch. Každý, kdo tudy půjde, zhrozí se a užasne nad všemi ranami, jež na něj dopadly.9Nechám je jíst maso jejich vlastních synů a maso jejich vlastních dcer. V tom zoufalém sevření svých nepřátel, kteří pasou po jejich životě, se budou požírat navzájem.‘[4]10Potom onen džbán rozbij před muži, kteří šli s tebou,11a řekni jim – ‚Tak praví Hospodin zástupů: Jako když se rozbije hliněná nádoba a už se nedá opravit, tak rozbiji tento lid i toto město. A v Tofetu se bude pohřbívat, protože jinde už k pohřbívání nezbude místo.12Tak naložím s tímto místem, praví Hospodin, i s těmi, kdo tu žijí. Způsobím, že toto město bude vypadat jako Tofet.13Jeruzalémské domy i paláce judských králů budou stejně nečisté jako toto místo, Tofet – všechny domy, na jejichž střechách se pálilo kadidlo celému tomu nebeskému zástupu a kde se konaly úlitby cizím bohům.‘“
Hrůza všude kolem
14Když se pak Jeremiáš vrátil z Tofetu, kam jej Hospodin poslal prorokovat, postavil se na nádvoří Hospodinova domu a promluvil ke všemu lidu:15„Tak praví Hospodin zástupů, Bůh Izraele – Hle, přivádím na toto město a na všechna města v okolí veškeré zlo, před kterým jsem je varoval. Jsou totiž tvrdošíjní a nechtějí poslouchat má slova!“
1So sprach der HERR: Geh und kauf einen Krug aus Ton und nimm einige Älteste des Volkes und Älteste der Priester mit dir!2Dann geh hinaus zum Tal Ben-Hinnom am Eingang des Scherbentors! Dort verkünde die Worte, die ich dir sage!3Du sollst sagen: Hört das Wort des HERRN, ihr Könige Judas und ihr Einwohner Jerusalems! So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Siehe, ich bringe Unheil über diesen Ort, dass jedem, der davon hört, die Ohren gellen werden.4Denn sie haben mich verlassen, diesen Ort entfremdet und an ihm anderen Göttern Rauchopfer dargebracht, die ihnen, ihren Vätern und den Königen von Juda früher unbekannt waren. Mit dem Blut Unschuldiger haben sie diesen Ort angefüllt.5Sie haben dem Baal Kulthöhen gebaut, um ihre Kinder als Brandopfer für den Baal im Feuer zu verbrennen, was ich nie befohlen oder angeordnet habe und was mir niemals in den Sinn gekommen ist. (Jr 7,31)6Darum, siehe, Tage kommen - Spruch des HERRN -, da wird man diesen Ort nicht mehr Tofet oder Tal Ben-Hinnom nennen, sondern Mordtal.7Dann vereitle ich die Pläne Judas und Jerusalems an diesem Ort. Ich bringe sie vor den Augen ihrer Feinde durch das Schwert zu Fall und durch die Hand derer, die ihnen nach dem Leben trachten. Ich gebe ihre Leichen den Vögeln des Himmels und den Tieren des Feldes zum Fraß.8Ich mache diese Stadt zu einem Ort des Entsetzens und zum Gespött; jeder, der dort vorbeikommt, wird sich entsetzen und spotten über alle Schläge, die sie getroffen haben. (Jr 18,16)9Ich gebe ihnen das Fleisch ihrer Söhne und das Fleisch ihrer Töchter zu essen; einer wird das Fleisch des andern verzehren in der Not und Bedrängnis, mit der ihre Feinde und alle, die ihnen nach dem Leben trachten, sie bedrängen. - (Lv 26,29; Dt 28,53; Bár 2,3)10Dann zerbrich den Krug vor den Augen der Männer, die mit dir gehen!11Sag ihnen: So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen: Ebenso zerbreche ich dieses Volk und diese Stadt, wie man Töpfergeschirr zerbricht, sodass es nicht wiederhergestellt werden kann. Im Tofet wird man Tote begraben, weil sonst kein Platz ist zum Begraben. (Jr 7,32)12So werde ich mit diesem Ort verfahren - Spruch des HERRN - und mit seinen Bewohnern, um diese Stadt dem Tofet gleichzumachen.13Die Häuser Jerusalems und die Häuser der Könige von Juda sollen unrein werden wie der Ort des Tofet, alle Häuser, auf deren Dächern man dem ganzen Heer des Himmels Rauchopfer und anderen Göttern Trankopfer dargebracht hat. Auseinandersetzung mit dem Priester Paschhur
14Als nun Jeremia vom Tofet zurückkam, wohin der HERR ihn zum Weissagen gesandt hatte, stellte er sich in den Vorhof beim Haus des HERRN und sagte zu allem Volk:15So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Siehe, ich bringe über diese Stadt und über alle ihre Tochterstädte all das Unheil, das ich ihr angedroht habe, weil sie ihren Nacken versteift haben, um nicht auf meine Worte zu hören.
