1 Kdo uvěřil kázaní našemu? A rámě Hospodinovo komu jest zjeveno? 2 Nebo před ním vyrostl jako proutek, a jako kořen z země vyprahlé, nemaje podoby ani krásy. Viděliť jsme jej, ale nic nebylo viděti toho, proč bychom ho žádostivi byli. 3 Nejpohrdanější zajisté a nejopovrženější byl z lidí, muž bolestí, a kterýž zkusil nemocí, a jako ukrývající tvář svou; nejpohrdanější, pročež jsme ho za nic nevážili. 4 Ještotě on nemoci naše vzal, a bolesti naše vlastní on nesl, my však domnívali jsme se, že jest raněn, a ubit od Boha, i strápen. 5 On pak raněn jest pro přestoupení naše, potřín pro nepravosti naše; kázeň pokoje našeho na něj vzložena, a zsinalostí jeho lékařství nám způsobeno. 6 Všickni my jako ovce zbloudili jsme, jeden každý na cestu svou obrátili jsme se, a Hospodin uvalil na něj nepravosti všech nás. 7 Pokutován jest i strápen, však neotevřel úst svých. Jako beránek k zabití veden byl, a jako ovce před těmi, kdož ji střihou, oněměl, aniž otevřel úst svých. 8 Z úzkosti a z soudu vyňat jest, a protož rod jeho kdo vypraví, ačkoli vyťat jest z země živých, a zraněn pro přestoupení lidu mého? 9 Kterýžto vydal bezbožným hrob jeho, a bohatému, aby byl usmrcen, ješto však nepravosti neučinil, aniž jest nalezena lest v ústech jeho. 10 Taktě se líbilo Hospodinu jej stírati, a nemocí trápiti, aby polože duši svou v oběť za hřích,viděl símě své, byl dlouhověký, a to, což se líbí Hospodinu, skrze něho šťastně konáno bylo. 11 Z práce duše své uzří užitek, jímž nasycen bude. Známostí svou ospravedlní spravedlivý služebník můj mnohé; nebo nepravosti jejich on sám ponese. 12 A protož dám jemu díl pro mnohé, aby s nesčíslnými dělil se o kořist, proto že vylil na smrt duši svou, a s přestupníky počten jest. Onť sám nesl hřích mnohých, a přestupníků zástupcím byl.

— Nejpohrdanější z lidí - Měl-li se stát zachráncem druhých, musil služebník sestoupit až do jejich nejhlubší bídy.

1 Kdo uvěří naší zprávě? Nad kým se zjeví paže Hospodinova? 2 Vyrostl před ním jako proutek, jak oddenek z vyprahlé země, neměl vzhled ani důstojnost. Viděli jsme ho, ale byl tak nevzhledný, že jsme po něm nedychtili. 3 Byl v opovržení, kdekdo se ho zřekl, muž plný bolestí, zkoušený nemocemi, jako ten, před nímž si člověk zakryje tvář, tak opovržený, že jsme si ho nevážili.

— Trpěl za nás - Podoben obětnímu beránku, nechal na sebe vložit hřích druhých a mlčky jej nesl.

4 Byly to však naše nemoci, jež nesl, naše bolesti na sebe vzal, ale domnívali jsme se, že je raněn, ubit od Boha a pokořen. 5 Jenže on byl proklán pro naši nevěrnost, zmučen pro naši nepravost. Trestání snášel pro náš pokoj, jeho jizvami jsme uzdraveni. 6 Všichni jsme bloudili jako ovce, každý z nás se dal svou cestou, jej však Hospodin postihl pro nepravost nás všech. 7 Byl trápen a pokořil se, ústa neotevřel; jako beránek vedený na porážku, jako ovce před střihači zůstal němý, ústa neotevřel. 8 Byl zadržen a vzat na soud. Kdopak pomyslí na jeho pokolení? Vždyť byl vyťat ze země živých, raněn pro nevěrnost mého lidu. 9 Byl mu dán hrob se svévolníky, s boháčem smrt našel, ačkoli se nedopustil násilí a v jeho ústech nebylo lsti.

— Zvítězil i nad smrtí - Svou poslušností přemohl služebník klatbu neposlušnosti. Proto jej čeká oslavení.

10 Ale Hospodinovou vůlí bylo zkrušit ho nemocí, aby položil svůj život v oběť za vinu. Spatří potomstvo, bude dlouho živ a zdárně vykoná vůli Hospodinovu. 11 Zbaven svého trápení spatří světlo, nasytí se tím, co zakusil. „Můj spravedlivý služebník získá spravedlnost mnohým; jejich nepravosti on na sebe vezme. 12 Proto mu dám podíl mezi mnohými a s četnými bude dělit kořist za to, že vydal sám sebe na smrt a byl počten mezi nevěrníky.“ On nesl hřích mnohých, Bůh jej postihl místo nevěrných.

Nebyl nápadný ani honosný, abychom na něj hleděli, nebylo na něm vidět nic, proč bychom po něm toužili. 3 Opovržený a opuštěný lidmi, muž utrpení a znalý bolestí, jako ten, před kterým tvář si zakrývají, opovržený – proč bychom si ho všímali? 4 Bolesti, jež nesl, však byly naše, naše utrpení vzal na sebe! My jsme se ale domnívali, že je od Boha trestán, bit a pokořen. 5 On však byl proboden naším proviněním, našimi vinami trýzněn byl; pro naše blaho snášel potrestání – byli jsme uzdraveni jeho ranami! 6 My všichni jsme jako ovce zabloudili, každý se na svou cestu obrátil, Hospodin ale uvalil na něj provinění nás všech. 7 Byl zmučen, a přestože trpěl, ústa neotevřel. Na smrt byl veden jako beránek, jak ovce před střihači oněměl, ústa neotevřel. 8 Vzali jej, aby byl zadržen a souzen; kdo z jeho současníků na to pomyslel? Byl totiž vyťat ze země živých, proviněním mého lidu raněn byl. 9 Ač měl být pohřben se zločinci, octl se v hrobě^[1] s boháčem; nikdy se totiž nedopustil křivdy a v ústech neměl žádnou lest. 10 Hospodinovou vůlí však bylo trýznit jej, ranit jej trápením: Za vinu když sám sebe obětuje, uvidí potomstvo, bude dlouho živ a Hospodinova vůle skrze něj se zdárně naplní. 11 Po svém utrpení však světlo^[2] uvidí a bude nasycen. Můj spravedlivý služebník mnohé ospravedlní; jejich viny vezme na sebe. 12 A proto mu dávám podíl s mnohými, aby se s nesčíslnými dělil o kořist, protože sám sebe vydal smrti a počítal se mezi viníky. On to byl, kdo nesl hřích mnohých a za viníky se postavil.

(J 12,38; Ř 10,16) 2 Vor seinen Augen wuchs er auf wie ein junger Spross, / wie ein Wurzeltrieb aus trockenem Boden. Er hatte keine schöne und edle Gestalt, / sodass wir ihn anschauen mochten. Er sah nicht so aus, / dass wir Gefallen fanden an ihm. (Iz 11,1) 3 Er wurde verachtet und von den Menschen gemieden, / ein Mann voller Schmerzen, / mit Krankheit vertraut. Wie einer, vor dem man das Gesicht verhüllt, / war er verachtet; wir schätzten ihn nicht. 4 Aber er hat unsere Krankheit getragen / und unsere Schmerzen auf sich geladen.
