1Ukázal se pak jemu Hospodin v rovině Mamre; a on seděl u dveří stanu, když veliké horko na den bylo.2A když pozdvihl očí svých, viděl, a aj, tři muži stáli naproti němu. Kteréžto jakž uzřel, běžel jim vstříc ode dveří stanu, a sklonil se až k zemi.3A řekl: Pane můj, jestliže jsem nyní nalezl milost před očima tvýma, prosím, nepomíjej služebníka svého.4Přineseno bude trochu vody, a umyjete nohy své, a odpočinete pod stromem.5Zatím přinesu kus chleba, a posilníte srdce svého; potom půjdete, poněvadž mimo služebníka svého jdete. I řekli: Tak učiň, jakž jsi mluvil.6Tedy pospíšil Abraham do stanu k Sáře, a řekl: Spěšně tři míry mouky bělné zadělej, a napec podpopelných chlebů.7Abraham pak běžel k stádu; a vzav tele mladé a dobré, dal služebníku, kterýžto pospíšil připraviti je.8Potom vzav másla a mléka, i tele, kteréž připravil, položil před ně; sám pak stál při nich pod stromem, i jedli.9Řekli pak jemu: Kde jest Sára manželka tvá? Kterýžto odpověděl: Teď v stanu.10A řekl: Jistotně se navrátím k tobě vedlé času života, a aj, syna míti bude Sára manželka tvá. Ale Sára poslouchala u dveří stanu, kteréž byly za ním.11Abraham pak i Sára byli staří a sešlého věku, a přestal byl Sáře běh ženský.12I smála se Sára sama v sobě, řkuci: Teprv když jsem se sstarala, v rozkoše se vydám? A ještě i pán můj se sstaral.13Tedy řekl Hospodin Abrahamovi: Proč jest se smála Sára, řkuci: Zdaliž opravdu ještě roditi budu, a já se sstarala?14Zdaliž co skrytého bude před Hospodinem? K času určitému navrátím se k tobě vedlé času života, a Sára bude míti syna.15Zapřela pak Sára a řekla: Nesmála jsem se; nebo se bála. I řekl Hospodin: Neníť tak, ale smála jsi se.16Tedy vstavše odtud muži ti, obrátili se k Sodomě; Abraham pak šel s nimi, aby je provodil.17A řekl Hospodin: Zdali já zatajím před Abrahamem, což dělati budu?18Poněvadž Abraham jistotně bude v národ veliký a silný, a požehnáni budou v něm všickni národové země.19Nebo znám jej; protož přikáže synům svým a domu svému po sobě, aby ostříhali cesty Hospodinovy, a činili spravedlnost a soud, aťby naplnil Hospodin Abrahamovi, což mu zaslíbil.20I řekl Hospodin: Proto že rozmnožen jest křik Sodomských a Gomorských, a hřích jejich že obtížen jest náramně:21Sstoupím již a pohledím, jestliže podle křiku jejich, kterýž přišel ke mně, činili, důjde na ně setření; a pakli toho není, zvím.22A obrátivše se odtud muži, šli do Sodomy; Abraham pak ještě stál před Hospodinem.23V tom přistoupiv Abraham, řekl: Zdali také zahladíš spravedlivého s bezbožným?24Bude-li padesáte spravedlivých v tom městě, zdali předce zahubíš, a neodpustíš místu pro padesáte spravedlivých, kteříž jsou v něm?25Odstup to od tebe, abys takovou věc učiniti měl, abys usmrtil spravedlivého s bezbožným; takť by byl spravedlivý jako bezbožný. Odstup to od tebe; zdaliž soudce vší země neučiní soudu?26I řekl Hospodin: Jestliže naleznu v Sodomě, v městě tom, padesáte spravedlivých, odpustím všemu tomu místu pro ně.27A odpovídaje Abraham, řekl: Aj, nyní chtěl bych mluviti ku Pánu svému, ačkoli jsem prach a popel.28Co pak, nedostane-li se ku padesáti spravedlivým pěti, zdali zkazíš pro těch pět všecko město? I řekl: Nezahladím, jestliže najdu tam čtyřidceti pět.29Opět mluvil Abraham a řekl: Snad nalezeno bude tam čtyřidceti? A odpověděl: Neučiním pro těch čtyřidceti.30I řekl Abraham: Prosím, nechť se nehněvá Pán můj, že mluviti budu: Snad se jich nalezne tam třidceti? Odpověděl: Nezahladím i pro těch deset.33I odšel Hospodin, když dokonal řeč k Abrahamovi; Abraham pak navrátil se k místu svému.
— Abrahamovi hosté - Abraham hostí tři muže. Spolu se Sárou slyší od nich zvěst o narození syna.
1 I ukázal se Hospodin Abrahamovi při božišti Mamre, když seděl za denního horka ve dveřích stanu.2 Rozhlédl se a spatřil: Hle, naproti němu stojí tři muži. Jakmile je spatřil, vyběhl jim ze dveří stanu vstříc, sklonil se k zemi3 a řekl: „Panovníku, jestliže jsem u tebe nalezl milost, nepomíjej svého služebníka.4 Dám přinést trochu vody, umyjte si nohy a zasedněte pod strom.5 Rád bych vám podal sousto chleba, abyste se posilnili; potom půjdete dál. Přece nepominete svého služebníka.“ Odvětili: „Učiň, jak říkáš.“ 6 Abraham rychle odběhl do stanu k Sáře a řekl: „Rychle vezmi tři míry bílé mouky, zadělej a připrav podpopelné chleby.“7 Sám se rozběhl k dobytku, vzal mladé a pěkné dobytče a dal mládenci, aby je rychle připravil.8 Potom vzal máslo a mléko i dobytče, jež připravil, a předložil jim to. Zatímco jedli, stál u nich pod stromem.9 Pak se ho otázali: „Kde je tvá žena Sára?“ Odpověděl: „Tady ve stanu.“10 I řekl jeden z nich : „Po obvyklé době se k tobě určitě vrátím, a hle, tvá žena bude mít syna.“ Sára naslouchala za ním ve dveřích stanu.11 Abraham i Sára byli staří, sešlí věkem, a Sáře již ustal běh ženský.12 Zasmála se v duchu a řekla si: „Když už jsem tak sešlá, má se mi dostat takové rozkoše? I můj pán je stařec.“13 Tu Hospodin Abrahamovi řekl: „Pročpak se Sára směje a říká: ‚Což mohu opravdu rodit, když už jsem tak stará?‘14 Je to snad pro Hospodina nějaký div? V jistém čase, po obvyklé době, se k tobě vrátím a Sára bude mít syna.“15 Sára však zapírala: „Nesmála jsem se,“ protože se bála. On však řekl: „Ale ano, smála ses.“
ABRAHAM PŘÍMLUVCE A MODLITEBNÍK - — Vyhlášení soudu nad Sodomou - Hospodin ohlašuje soud nad hříšnými městy. Abraham pro ně hledá cestu milosti.
16 Muži se odtud zvedli a zamířili k Sodomě. Abraham šel s nimi, aby je doprovodil.17 Tu Hospodin řekl: „Mám Abrahamovi zamlčet, co hodlám učinit?18 Abraham se jistě stane velikým a zdatným národem a budou v něm požehnány všechny pronárody země.19 Důvěrně jsem se s ním sblížil, aby přikazoval svým synům a všem, kteří přijdou po něm: ‚Dbejte na Hospodinovu cestu a jednejte podle spravedlnosti a práva, ať Hospodin Abrahamovi splní, co mu přislíbil.‘“20 Hospodin dále pravil: „Křik ze Sodomy a Gomory je tak silný a jejich hřích je tak těžký,21 že už musím sestoupit a podívat se. Jestliže si počínají tak, jak je patrno z křiku, který ke mně přichází, je po nich veta; zjistím si, jak tomu je.“22 Zatímco se muži odtud ubírali k Sodomě, Abraham zůstal stát před Hospodinem.23 I přistoupil Abraham a řekl: „Vyhladíš snad se svévolníkem i spravedlivého?24 Možná, že je v tom městě padesát spravedlivých; vyhladíš snad i je a nepromineš tomu místu, přestože je v něm padesát spravedlivých?25 Přece bys neudělal něco takového a neusmrtil spolu se svévolníkem spravedlivého; pak by na tom byl spravedlivý stejně jako svévolník. To bys přece neudělal. Což Soudce vší země nejedná podle práva?“26 Hospodin odvětil: „Najdu-li v Sodomě, v tom městě, padesát spravedlivých, prominu kvůli nim celému místu.“27 Abraham pokračoval: „Dovoluji si k Panovníkovi mluvit, ač jsem prach a popel:28 Možná, že bude do těch padesáti spravedlivých pět chybět. Zahladíš pro těch pět celé město?“ Odvětil: „Nezahladím, najdu-li jich tam čtyřicet pět.“29 On však k němu mluvil ještě dále: „Možná, že se jich tam najde čtyřicet.“ Pravil: „Neudělám to kvůli těm čtyřiceti.“30 I řekl: „Ať se Panovník nerozhněvá, když budu mluvit dále : Možná, že se jich tam najde třicet.“ Pravil: „Neučiním to, najdu-li jich tam třicet.“31 Řekl pak: „Hle, dovoluji si promluvit k Panovníkovi znovu: Možná, že se jich tam najde dvacet.“ Pravil: „Nezahladím je kvůli těm dvaceti.“32 Nato řekl: „Ať se Panovník nerozhněvá, promluvím-li ještě jednou: Možná, že se jich tam najde deset.“ Pravil: „Nezahladím je ani kvůli těm deseti.“33 Hospodin po skončení rozmluvy s Abrahamem odešel a Abraham se vrátil ke svému místu.
1Hospodin se pak Abrahamovi ukázal u háje Mamre, když seděl v poledním horku u vchodu do stanu.2Abraham pozvedl oči a hle, stáli před ním tři muži. Jakmile je spatřil, vyběhl jim ze stanového vchodu naproti. Poklonil se až k zemi3a řekl: „Pane můj, prokaž mi prosím laskavost a zastav se u svého služebníka!4Když dovolíš, nechám přinést trochu vody. Umyjete si nohy a odpočinete si pod stromem.5Přinesu kousek chleba a posilníte se, než půjdete dál. Přišli jste přece ke svému služebníkovi.“ „Udělej, jak jsi řekl,“ odpověděli.6Abraham odspěchal do stanu za Sárou a řekl: „Rychle vezmi tři míry[1] jemné mouky, zadělej těsto a upeč chleba!“7Odběhl ke stádu, vzal pěkné útlé tele a dal je služebníkovi, který je odspěchal připravit.8Potom vzal máslo, mléko a dobytče, které připravil, a položil to před ně. Sám pak stál u nich pod stromem, zatímco jedli.9„Kde je tvá manželka Sára?“ zeptali se ho. „Zde ve stanu,“ odpověděl.10Na to host řekl: „Za rok touto dobou se k tobě jistě vrátím a hle, tvá manželka Sára bude mít syna!“ Sára však poslouchala vzadu u vchodu do stanu.11(Abraham i Sára už byli velmi staří a Sára už nebyla v plodném věku.)12Sára se v duchu zasmála: „Teď, když jsem sešlá stářím, mám zakusit rozkoš? Navíc, můj pán je stařec!“13Hospodin se Abrahama zeptal: „Proč se Sára smála a říkala: ‚Copak ještě opravdu mohu rodit, když jsem tak stará?‘14Je snad pro Hospodina něco nemožné? V daný čas, za rok touto dobou, se k tobě vrátím a Sára bude mít syna.“15Sára to ze strachu zapírala: „Nesmála jsem se.“ On ale řekl: „Ba ne, smála ses!“
Deset spravedlivých
16Potom ti muži vstali a zamířili odtud k Sodomě. Abraham šel s nimi, aby je vyprovodil.17Tehdy si Hospodin řekl: „Zatajím snad před Abrahamem, co se chystám udělat?18Vždyť z Abrahama jistě bude věhlasný a mocný národ a v něm dojdou požehnání všechny národy země.19Vyvolil jsem jej, aby přikázal svým synům a své budoucí rodině, ať zachovávají Hospodinovu cestu konáním spravedlnosti a práva, aby Hospodin Abrahamovi splnil, co mu zaslíbil.“20Hospodin řekl: „Křik Sodomy a Gomory je velký a jejich hřích velmi těžký.21Proto sestoupím a uvidím: pokud jednali tak, jak nasvědčuje křik, jenž se mi donesl, je s nimi konec; a pokud ne, poznám to.“22Ti muži odtud pokračovali k Sodomě, ale Abraham ještě zůstal před Hospodinem.23Přistoupil blíž a řekl: „Cožpak smeteš s ničemným také spravedlivého?24Možná, že je v tom městě padesát spravedlivých. Smeteš je také? Neušetříš to místo kvůli padesáti spravedlivým, kteří tam jsou?25Takovou věc bys nikdy neudělal – usmrtit s ničemným také spravedlivého! Tak by byl spravedlivý jako ničemný – to bys neudělal! Cožpak Soudce vší země nebude jednat podle práva?“26Na to Hospodin řekl: „Najdu-li v tom městě, v Sodomě, padesát spravedlivých, ušetřím kvůli nim celé to místo.“27Abraham odpověděl: „Pohleď prosím – odvažuji se mluvit ke svému Pánu, ačkoli jsem prach a popel –28možná, že bude do těch padesáti spravedlivých pět chybět. Zničíš kvůli těm pěti celé město?“ „Nezničím, najdu-li jich tam čtyřicet pět,“ odpověděl.29Abraham k němu promluvil znovu: „Co když se jich tam najde jen čtyřicet?“ „Neudělám to kvůli těm čtyřiceti,“ odpověděl.30„Ať se můj Pán prosím nehněvá, když promluvím,“ řekl Abraham. „Co když se jich tam najde jen třicet?“ „Neudělám to, najdu-li jich tam třicet,“ odpověděl.31„Pohleď prosím, dovolím si znovu promluvit ke svému Pánu,“ řekl Abraham. „Co když se jich tam najde jen dvacet?“ „Nezničím je kvůli těm dvaceti,“ odpověděl.32„Ať se prosím můj Pán nehněvá, když promluvím ještě jednou,“ řekl Abraham. „Co když se jich tam najde jen deset?“ „Nezničím je kvůli těm deseti,“ odpověděl Hospodin.33Tak dokončil rozmluvu s Abrahamem a odešel. Také Abraham se vrátil domů.

Knete es und backe Brotfladen!7Er lief weiter zum Vieh, nahm ein zartes, prächtiges Kalb und übergab es dem Knecht, der es schnell zubereitete.8Dann nahm Abraham Butter, Milch und das Kalb, das er hatte zubereiten lassen, und setzte es ihnen vor. Er selbst wartete ihnen unter dem Baum auf, während sie aßen. (Žd 13,2)9Sie fragten ihn: Wo ist deine Frau Sara? Dort im Zelt, sagte er.10Da sprach er: In einem Jahr komme ich wieder zu dir. Auch ist mein Herr doch schon ein alter Mann!13Da sprach der HERR zu Abraham: Warum lacht Sara und sagt: Sollte ich wirklich noch gebären, obwohl ich so alt bin?14Ist denn beim HERRN etwas unmöglich? Nächstes Jahr um diese Zeit werde ich wieder zu dir kommen; dann wird Sara einen Sohn haben.15Sara leugnete: Ich habe nicht gelacht. Denn sie hatte Angst. Er aber sagte: Doch, du hast gelacht.
Abrahams Fürsprache für Sodom
16Die Männer erhoben sich von dort und schauten auf Sodom hinab. Abraham ging mit ihnen, um sie zu geleiten.17Da sagte der HERR: Soll ich Abraham verheimlichen, was ich tun will?18Abraham soll doch zu einem großen, mächtigen Volk werden, durch ihn sollen alle Völker der Erde Segen erlangen. (Gn 12,2; Gn 22,17; Gn 26,4; Gn 28,14; Ga 3,8)19Denn ich habe ihn dazu ausersehen, dass er seinen Söhnen und seinem Haus nach ihm gebietet, den Weg des HERRN einzuhalten und Gerechtigkeit und Recht zu üben, damit der HERR seine Zusagen an Abraham erfüllen kann.20Der HERR sprach: Das Klagegeschrei über Sodom und Gomorra, ja, das ist angeschwollen und ihre Sünde, ja, die ist schwer. (Gn 13,13)21Ich will hinabsteigen und sehen, ob ihr verderbliches Tun wirklich dem Klagegeschrei entspricht, das zu mir gedrungen ist, oder nicht. Ich will es wissen.22Die Männer wandten sich ab von dort und gingen auf Sodom zu. Abraham aber stand noch immer vor dem HERRN.23Abraham trat näher und sagte: Willst du auch den Gerechten mit den Ruchlosen wegraffen?24Vielleicht gibt es fünfzig Gerechte in der Stadt: Willst du auch sie wegraffen und nicht doch dem Ort vergeben wegen der fünfzig Gerechten in ihrer Mitte?25Fern sei es von dir, so etwas zu tun: den Gerechten zusammen mit dem Frevler töten. Dann ginge es ja dem Gerechten wie dem Frevler. Das sei fern von dir. Sollte der Richter der ganzen Erde nicht Recht üben? (Jb 8,3)26Da sprach der HERR: Wenn ich in Sodom fünfzig Gerechte in der Stadt finde, werde ich ihretwegen dem ganzen Ort vergeben.27Abraham antwortete und sprach: Siehe, ich habe es unternommen, mit meinem Herrn zu reden, obwohl ich Staub und Asche bin.28Vielleicht fehlen an den fünfzig Gerechten fünf. Wirst du wegen der fünf die ganze Stadt vernichten? Abraham Intercedes for Sodom
22So the men turned from there and went toward Sodom, but Abraham still stood before the Lord. (Gn 18,1; Gn 18,16; Gn 19,1; Ž 106,23; Jr 18,20)23Then Abraham drew near and said, “Will you indeed sweep away the righteous with the wicked? (Gn 20,4; Nu 16,22; 2S 24,17)24Suppose there are fifty righteous within the city. Will you then sweep away the place and not spare it for the fifty righteous who are in it?25Far be it from you to do such a thing, to put the righteous to death with the wicked, so that the righteous fare as the wicked! Far be that from you! Will you destroy the whole city for lack of five?” And he said, “I will not destroy it if I find forty-five there.”29Again he spoke to him and said, “Suppose forty are found there.” He answered, “For the sake of forty I will not do it.”30Then he said, “Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak. Suppose thirty are found there.” He answered, “I will not do it, if I find thirty there.”31He said, “Behold, I have undertaken to speak to the Lord. Suppose twenty are found there.” He answered, “For the sake of twenty I will not destroy it.”32Then he said, “Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak again but this once. Suppose ten are found there.” He answered, “For the sake of ten I will not destroy it.” (Sd 6,39)33And the Lord went his way, when he had finished speaking to Abraham, and Abraham returned to his place.

1And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;2And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them , he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,3And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:4Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree:5And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said.6And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it , and make cakes upon the hearth.7And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetcht a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it.8And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.9And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent.10And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.11Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.12Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?13And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?14Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.15Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh.16And the men rose up from thence, and looked toward Sodom: and Abraham went with them to bring them on the way.17And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;18Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?19For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.20And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;21I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.22And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD.23And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?24Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?25That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?26And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.27And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes:28Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it .29And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty' sake.30And he said unto him , Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it , if I find thirty there.31And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord: Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty' sake.32And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten' sake.33And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place.
