1Přišli pak dva andělé do Sodomy u večer, a Lot seděl v bráně Sodomské. Kteréžto když uzřel, vstav, šel jim v cestu a sklonil se tváří až k zemi.2A řekl: Aj, prosím páni moji, uchylte se nyní do domu služebníka svého, a zůstaňte přes noc; umyjete také nohy své a ráno vstanouce, půjdete cestou svou. Oni pak odpověděli: Nikoli, ale přenocujeme na ulici.3Ale když on je velmi nutil, obrátivše se k němu, vešli do domu jeho. I udělal jim hody, a napekl chlebů přesných, i jedli.4Prvé pak než lehli, muži města toho, muži Sodomští, osuli se vůkol domu toho, od mladého až do starého, všecken lid odevšad.5I volali na Lota, a řekli jemu: Kde jsou ti muži, kteříž přišli k tobě v noci? Vyveď je k nám, ať je poznáme.6I vyšel k nim Lot ven, a zavřel po sobě dvéře.7A řekl: Prosím, bratří moji, nečiňte zlého.8Aj, mám teď dvě dcery, kteréžto nepoznaly muže; vyvedu je nyní k vám, čiňte s nimi, jak se vám líbí; toliko mužům těmto nic nečiňte, poněvadž vešli pod stín střechy mé.9I řekli: Odejdi tam! A mluvili: Sám se dostal sem pohostinu, a chce nás souditi? Nyní tobě hůř uděláme, než jim. I obořili se násilně na muže toho, totiž na Lota, a přistoupili, aby vylomili dvéře.10Tedy muži ti vztáhli ven ruku svou, a uvedli Lota k sobě do domu, a dvéře zavřeli.11A ty muže, kteříž byli přede dveřmi domu, ranili slepotou velikou, od nejmenšího až do největšího, tak že ustali, hledajíce dveří.12I řekli muži k Lotovi: Máš-li ještě zde koho, buď zetě neb syny své, neb dcery své, i všecko, což máš v městě, vyveď z místa tohoto.13Nebo zkazíme místo toto, proto že se velmi rozmohl křik jejich před Hospodinem, a poslal nás Hospodin, abychom zkazili je.14Vyšed tedy Lot, mluvil k zeťům svým, kteříž již měli pojímati dcery jeho, a řekl: Vstaňte, vyjděte z místa tohoto, nebo zkazí Hospodin město toto. Ale zdálo se zeťům jeho, jako by žertoval.15A když zasvitávalo, nutili andělé Lota, řkouce: Vstaň, vezmi ženu svou a dvě dcery své, kteréž tu jsou, abys nezahynul v pomstě města.16A když prodléval, chopili muži ruku jeho, a ruku ženy jeho, a ruku dvou dcer jeho, nebo se slitoval nad ním Hospodin; i vyvedli jej, a pustili za městem.17A stalo se, když je vedli ven, řekl jeden: Zachovejž život svůj, neohlédej se zpět, ani se zastavuj na vší této rovině; ujdi na horu, abys nezahynul.18I řekl jim Lot: Ne tak, prosím, páni moji.19Aj, nyní nalezl služebník tvůj milost před očima tvýma, a veliké jest milosrdenství tvé, kteréž jsi učinil se mnou, když jsi zachoval duši mou; ale jáť nebudu moci ujíti na tu horu, aby mne nepostihlo to zlé, a umřel bych.20Hle, teď jest toto město blízko, do něhož bych utekl, a toť jest malé; prosím, nechť tam ujdu; však pak neveliké jest, a živa bude duše má.21I řekl k němu: Aj, uslyšel jsem žádost tvou i v této věci, abych nepodvrátil města toho, o němž jsi mluvil.22Pospěšiž, ujdi tam; neboť nebudu moci učiniti ničehož, dokudž tam nedojdeš. A z té příčiny nazváno jest jméno města toho Ségor.23Slunce vzcházelo nad zemi, když Lot všel do Ségor.24A Hospodin dštil na Sodomu a naGomoru sirou a ohněm od Hospodina s nebe.25A podvrátil ta města i všecku tu rovinu, všecky také obyvatele těch měst, i všecko, což roste z země.26I ohlédla se žena jeho, jduc za ním, a obrácena jest v sloup solný.27Vstav pak Abraham ráno, pospíšil k místu tomu, kdež byl stál před Hospodinem.28A pohleděv k Sodomě a Gomoře,i na všecku zemi té roviny, uzřel, a aj, vystupoval dým z země té, jako dým z vápenice.29Stalo se tedy, když kazil Bůh města té roviny, že se rozpomenul Bůh na Abrahama, a vytrhl Lota z prostředku podvrácení, když podvracel města, v nichž bydlil Lot.30Potom vyšel Lot z Ségor, a bydlil na hoře té, a obě dvě dcery jeho s ním; nebo nesměl bydliti v Ségor. I bydlil v jeskyni s oběma dcerami svými.31I řekla prvorozená k mladší: Otec náš jest již starý, a není žádného muže na zemi, ješto by všel k nám podlé obyčeje vší země.32Poď, dejme píti otci našemu vína, a spěme s ním, abychom zachovaly z otce našeho símě.33I daly píti otci svému vína té noci; a všedši prvorozená, spala s otcem svým, kterýžto necítil, ani když lehla, ani když vstala.34Nazejtří pak řekla prvorozená k mladší: Aj, spala jsem včerejší noci s otcem svým; dejme mu píti vína ještě této noci; potom vejduc, spi s ním, a zachovejme símě z otce našeho.35I daly píti ještě té noci otci svému vína; a vstala ta mladší, a spala s ním; on pak necítil, ani když ona lehla, ani když vstala.36A tak počaly obě dcery Lotovy z otce svého.37I porodila prvorozená syna, a nazvala jméno jeho Moáb; onť jest otec Moábských až do dnešního dne.38I mladší také porodila syna, a nazvala jméno jeho Ben Ammon; onť jest otcem Ammonitských až do dnešního dne.
— Záchrana Lota - Pro Abrahamovu věrnost vysvobozuje Hospodin Lota z podvrácené Sodomy.
1 I přišli ti dva poslové večer do Sodomy. Lot seděl v sodomské bráně. Když je spatřil, povstal jim vstříc, sklonil se tváří k zemi2 a řekl: „Snažně prosím, moji páni, uchylte se do domu svého služebníka. Přenocujte, umyjte si nohy a za časného jitra půjdete svou cestou.“ Odvětili: „Nikoli, přenocujeme na tomto prostranství.“3 On však na ně velice naléhal; uchýlili se tedy k němu a vešli do jeho domu. Připravil jim hostinu, dal napéci nekvašené chleby a pojedli.4 Dříve než ulehli, mužové toho města, muži sodomští, lid ze všech koutů, mladí i staří, obklíčili dům.5 Volali na Lota a řekli mu: „Kde máš ty muže, kteří k tobě této noci přišli? Vyveď nám je, abychom je poznali!“ 6 Lot k nim vyšel ke vchodu, dveře však za sebou zavřel.7 Řekl: „Bratří moji, nedělejte prosím nic zlého.8 Hleďte, mám dvě dcery, které muže nepoznaly. Jsem ochoten vám je vyvést a dělejte si s nimi, co se vám zlíbí. Jenom nic nedělejte těmto mužům! Vešli přece do stínu mého přístřeší.“9 Oni však vzkřikli: „Kliď se!“ A hrozili: „Sám je tu jen jako host a bude dělat soudce! Že s tebou naložíme hůř než s nimi!“ Obořili se na toho muže, na Lota, a chystali se vyrazit dveře.10 Vtom ti muži vlastníma rukama vtáhli Lota k sobě do domu a zavřeli dveře.11 Ale muže, kteří byli u vchodu do domu, malé i velké, ranili slepotou, takže nebyli schopni nalézt vchod.12 Tu řekli ti muži Lotovi: „Máš-li zde ještě někoho, zetě, syny, dcery, všechny, kteří v tomto městě patří k tobě, vyveď je z tohoto místa.13 My přinášíme tomuto místu zkázu, protože křik z něho je před Hospodinem tak velký, že nás Hospodin poslal, abychom je zničili.“14 Lot tedy vyšel a promluvil ke svým zeťům, kteří si měli vzít jeho dcery. Řekl jim: „Vyjděte hned z tohoto místa, poněvadž Hospodin chystá tomuto městu zkázu.“ Ale zeťům to připadalo, jako by žertoval. 15 Když vzešla jitřenka, nutili poslové Lota: „Ihned vezmi svou ženu a obě dcery, které tu máš, abys pro nepravost města nezahynul.“16 Ale on váhal. Ti muži ho tedy uchopili za ruku, i jeho ženu a obě dcery – to shovívavost Hospodinova byla s ním –, vyvedli ho a dovolili mu odpočinout až za městem. 17 Když je Hospodin vyváděl ven, řekl: „Uteč, jde ti o život. Neohlížej se zpět a v celém tomto okrsku se nezastavuj. Uteč na horu, abys nezahynul.“18 Lot jim však odvětil: „Ne tak prosím, Panovníku.19 Hle, tvůj služebník našel u tebe milost. Prokazuješ mi velké milosrdenství, že mě chceš zachovat při životě. Já však nemohu na tu horu utéci, aby mě nepostihlo něco zlého a abych nezemřel.20 Hle, tamto město je blízko, tam bych se mohl utéci, je jen maličké. Smím tam utéci? Což není opravdu maličké? Tak zůstanu naživu.“21 I řekl mu: „Vyhovím ti i v této věci; město, o kterém mluvíš, nepodvrátím.22 Uteč tam rychle, neboť nemohu nic učinit, dokud tam nevejdeš.“ Proto bylo to město nazváno Sóar (to je Maličké). 23 Slunce vycházelo nad zemí, když Lot vešel do Sóaru.24 Hospodin začal chrlit na Sodomu a Gomoru síru a oheň; od Hospodina z nebe to bylo.25 Tak podvrátil ta města i celý okrsek a zničil všechny obyvatele měst, i co rostlo na rolích.26 Lotova žena šla vzadu, ohlédla se a proměnila se v solný sloup. 27 Za časného jitra se Abraham vrátil k místu, kde stál před Hospodinem.28 Vyhlížel směrem k Sodomě a Gomoře a spatřil, jak po celé krajině toho okrsku vystupuje ze země dým jako dým z hutě.29 Ale Bůh, když vyhlazoval města toho okrsku, pamatoval na Abrahama: poslal Lota pryč ze středu zkázy, když vyvracel města, v nichž se Lot usadil.
— Lotovy dcery - Lotova cesta končí úsilím jeho dcer o zajištění budoucnosti a zplozením Moába a Amóna.
30 Lot pak vystoupil ze Sóaru a usadil se se svými dvěma dcerami na hoře, protože se bál usadit se v Sóaru. Usadil se s oběma dcerami v jeskyni.31 Tu řekla prvorozená té mladší: „Náš otec je stařec a není muže v zemi, aby k nám podle obyčeje celé země vešel.32 Pojď, dáme otci napít vína a budeme s ním ležet. Tak dáme život potomstvu ze svého otce.“33 Daly mu tedy té noci pít víno. Pak vešla prvorozená a ležela s otcem. On však nic nevěděl, ani když ulehla, ani když vstala.34 Příštího dne řekla prvorozená té mladší: „Hle, na dnešek jsem ležela s otcem já. Dáme mu pít víno i této noci a vejdeš ty a budeš s ním ležet. Tak dáme život potomstvu ze svého otce.“35 Daly mu tedy pít víno i této noci a mladší přišla a ležela s ním. On však nic nevěděl, ani když ulehla, ani když vstala.36 Tak obě Lotovy dcery otěhotněly se svým otcem.37 I porodila prvorozená syna a nazvala ho Moáb (to je Z otce zplozený) ; ten je praotcem Moábců až podnes.38 A mladší porodila také syna a nazvala ho Ben-amí (to je Syn mého příbuzného); ten je praotcem Amónovců až podnes.
1Večer dorazili ti dva andělé do Sodomy. Lot seděl v sodomské bráně, a jakmile je spatřil, vstal a šel jim naproti. Poklonil se tváří k zemi2a řekl: „Snažně prosím, páni moji, uchylte se do domu svého služebníka! Umyjete si nohy, přenocujete, a až ráno vstanete, vydáte se znovu na cestu.“ „To ne,“ odpověděli. „Přenocujeme na tomto prostranství.“3Když však na ně velmi naléhal, uchýlili se k němu a vešli do jeho domu. Vystrojil jim tedy hostinu a napekl nekvašené chleby a oni jedli.4Ale než ulehli, obklíčili dům obyvatelé města, sodomští muži od mladíků až po starce, všechen lid ze všech stran.5„Kde jsou ti muži, co k tobě přišli na noc?“ volali na Lota. „Vyveď je k nám, ať si jich užijeme!“6Lot k nim tedy vyšel do vchodu, zavřel za sebou dveře7a řekl: „Bratři moji, nedělejte prosím nic zlého!8Hle, mám dvě dcery, které ještě nepoznaly muže; vyvedu je k vám. Udělejte s nimi, co se vám zlíbí, jen nic nedělejte těm mužům – vešli přece pod ochranu mé střechy.“9Oni však zvolali: „Uhni stranou! Tenhle přistěhovalec nám tu bude dělat soudce? Naložíme s tebou hůř než s nimi!“ Tehdy se na Lota prudce vrhli a chystali se vylomit dveře.10Ti dva však vystrčili ruce, vtáhli Lota k sobě do domu a dveře zase zavřeli.11A ty muže u vchodu do domu, od nejmenších po největší, ranili slepotou, takže marně hledali vchod.12Potom ti dva Lotovi řekli: „Koho tu ještě máš – zetě, syny, dcery? Kohokoli máš ve městě, odveď je odsud,13neboť toto místo zničíme. Jejich křik se před Hospodinem tak rozmohl, že nás Hospodin poslal, abychom je zničili.“14Lot tedy šel promluvit se svými zeti, kteří si měli brát jeho dcery: „Vstaňte a pojďte odsud pryč, neboť Hospodin toto město zničí!“ Jeho zeťové si však mysleli, že žertuje.15Když začalo svítat, andělé na Lota naléhali: „Vstaň, vezmi svou ženu a své dvě dcery, které tu jsou, aby tě nesmetl trest tohoto města.“16Když však otálel, vzali ho ti muži za ruku a také jeho ženu i obě dcery, neboť se nad ním Hospodin smiloval. Odvedli ho ven a teprve za městem ho propustili.17Když ho vedli ven, jeden z nich řekl: „Utíkej o život! Neohlížej se a nikde na této rovině se nezastavuj. Uteč do hor, abys nebyl smeten.“18Lot jim ale řekl: „Prosím ne, Pane můj!19Jsi ke svému služebníku nesmírně laskav. Prokázal jsi mi veliké milosrdenství, když jsi mi zachránil život. Já však nebudu moci utéct do hor, a tak mne to neštěstí postihne a zemřu.20Pohleď prosím, tamto město je dost blízko, abych tam utekl, a je maličké. Nech mě prosím utéct do něj – vždyť je tak malé – a zůstanu naživu.“21On odvětil: „Hle, i v této věci jsem tě vyslyšel; město, o němž jsi mluvil, nevydám zkáze.22Pospěš si! Uteč tam, neboť nebudu moci nic udělat, dokud tam nepřijdeš.“ (A proto se to město jmenuje Coar, Maličké.)23Když Lot vešel do Coaru, vycházelo nad zemí slunce.24A Hospodin dštil na Sodomu a Gomoru síru a oheň; bylo to od Hospodina z nebe.25Ona města s celou okolní rovinou, se všemi obyvateli i se vším, co roste ze země, propadla zkáze.26Lotova žena se však ohlédla zpět a proměnila se v solný sloup.27Druhého dne časně zrána Abraham odešel k místu, kde předtím stál před Hospodinem.28Když se podíval k Sodomě a Gomoře a na celou tu rovinu, viděl, jak ze země stoupá kouř jako z pece.29Tenkrát, když Bůh ničil města oné roviny, pamatoval na Abrahama a propustil Lota zprostřed zkázy, jež zachvátila města, v nichž Lot bydlel.
Lotovy dcery
30Lot potom z Coaru odešel a bydlel se svými dvěma dcerami v horách, neboť se bál bydlet v Coaru. Bydlel tedy se svými dvěma dcerami v jeskyni.31Prvorozená jednou řekla té mladší: „Náš otec je starý a v celém kraji není nikdo, s kým bychom mohly otěhotnět běžným způsobem.32Pojďme, opijme svého otce vínem a spěme s ním, abychom zachovaly símě našeho otce.“33A tak té noci opily svého otce vínem. Prvorozená šla spát se svým otcem, který nic nevěděl, ani když ulehla, ani když vstala.34Druhého dne pak prvorozená řekla té mladší: „Hle, včera v noci jsem spala se svým otcem. Opijme ho vínem také dnešní noc. Potom jdi a spi s ním, abychom zachovaly símě svého otce.“35I té noci tedy opily svého otce vínem. Ta mladší s ním šla spát, on však nic nevěděl, ani když ulehla, ani když vstala.36Tak obě Lotovy dcery otěhotněly ze svého otce.37Prvorozená pak porodila syna a dala mu jméno Moáb, Z otce vzešlý. Ten je otcem Moábských až do dnešního dne.38I ta mladší porodila syna a dala mu jméno Ben-amí, Syn mého příbuzného. Ten je otcem Amonců až do dnešního dne.

Als er sie sah, erhob er sich, trat auf sie zu, warf sich mit dem Gesicht zur Erde nieder (Gn 13,12)2und sagte: Bitte, meine Herren, kehrt doch im Haus eures Knechtes ein, bleibt über Nacht und wascht euch die Füße! Am Morgen könnt ihr euren Weg fortsetzen. Nein, sagten sie, wir wollen auf dem Platz übernachten.3Er bedrängte sie so sehr, dass sie bei ihm einkehrten und in sein Haus kamen. Er bereitete ihnen ein Mahl, ließ ungesäuerte Brote backen und sie aßen.4Sie waren noch nicht schlafen gegangen, da umstellten die Männer der Stadt das Haus, die Männer von Sodom, Jung und Alt, alles Volk von weit und breit.5Sie riefen nach Lot und fragten ihn: Wo sind die Männer, die heute Nacht zu dir gekommen sind? Bring sie zu uns heraus, wir wollen mit ihnen verkehren. (Sd 19,22)6Da ging Lot zu ihnen hinaus vor die Tür, schloss sie hinter sich zu7und sagte: Meine Brüder, tut doch nicht das Böse!8Seht doch, ich habe zwei Töchter, die noch nicht mit einem Mann verkehrt haben. Ich will sie zu euch herausbringen. Dann tut mit ihnen, was euch gefällt. Nur diesen Männern tut nichts; denn deshalb sind sie ja unter den Schutz meines Daches getreten. (Sd 19,23)9Sie aber sagten: Geh weg! Und sie sagten: Kommt da so einer daher, ein Fremder, und will sich als Richter aufspielen! Nun wollen wir dir Böseres antun, noch mehr als ihnen. Sie setzten dem Mann, nämlich Lot, arg zu und waren schon dabei, die Tür aufzubrechen.10Da streckten jene Männer die Hand aus, zogen Lot zu sich ins Haus und sperrten die Tür zu.11Dann schlugen sie die Männer draußen vor dem Haus, Groß und Klein, mit Blindheit, sodass sie sich vergebens bemühten, den Eingang zu finden.12Die Männer sagten zu Lot: Wer gehört hier noch zu dir? Ein Schwiegersohn, Söhne, Töchter oder sonst jemand in der Stadt? Bring sie weg von diesem Ort!13Wir wollen diesen Ort vernichten; denn groß ist das Klagegeschrei, das über sie zum HERRN gedrungen ist. Der HERR hat uns geschickt, die Stadt zu vernichten. (Gn 13,13)14Da ging Lot hinaus, redete auf seine Schwiegersöhne ein, die seine Töchter heiraten wollten, und sagte: Macht euch auf und verlasst diesen Ort; denn der HERR will die Stadt vernichten. Aber seine Schwiegersöhne meinten, er mache nur Spaß.15Als die Morgenröte aufstieg, drängten die Engel Lot zur Eile und sagten: Auf, nimm deine Frau und deine beiden Töchter, die hier sind, damit du nicht wegen der Schuld der Stadt hinweggerafft wirst!16Da er noch zögerte, fassten die Männer seine Hand, die Hand seiner Frau und die Hand seiner beiden Töchter, weil der HERR mit ihm Mitleid hatte. Sie führten ihn hinaus und ließen ihn erst draußen vor der Stadt los.17Während die Männer sie hinaus ins Freie führten, sagte der eine: Rette dich, es geht um dein Leben! Sieh dich nicht um und bleib im ganzen Umkreis nicht stehen! Rette dich ins Gebirge, sonst wirst du weggerafft!18Lot aber sagte zu ihnen: Nicht doch, mein Herr!19Siehe, dein Knecht hat Gnade in deinen Augen gefunden. Du hast mir große Gunst erwiesen und mir mein Leben bewahrt. Ich kann mich nicht ins Gebirge retten, ohne dass mich das Unheil vorher ereilt und ich sterben muss.20Siehe doch, die Stadt in der Nähe, dorthin könnte man fliehen. Sie ist doch klein; dorthin kann ich mich retten. Ist sie nicht klein? So könnte ich am Leben bleiben.21Er antwortete ihm: Siehe, auch das will ich dir gewähren und die Stadt, von der du sprichst, nicht zum Einsturz bringen.22Schnell, rette dich dorthin; denn ich kann nichts unternehmen, bevor du dort angekommen bist. Deshalb gab er der Stadt den Namen Zoar, die Kleine.23Als die Sonne über dem Land aufgegangen und Lot in Zoar angekommen war,24ließ der HERR auf Sodom und Gomorra Schwefel und Feuer regnen, vom HERRN, vom Himmel herab.25Er ließ ihre Städte einstürzen mitsamt ihrem ganzen Umkreis, auch alle Einwohner der Städte und alles, was auf den Feldern wuchs.26Als sich aber seine Frau hinter ihm umblickte, wurde sie zu einer Salzsäule. (L 17,32)27Am frühen Morgen begab sich Abraham an den Ort, an dem er dem HERRN gegenübergestanden hatte.28Er schaute gegen Sodom und Gomorra und auf das ganze Gebiet im Umkreis. Er schaute hin und siehe: Qualm stieg von der Erde auf wie der Qualm aus einem Schmelzofen.29Als Gott die Städte der Gegend vernichtete, gedachte Gott Abrahams und geleitete Lot mitten aus der Zerstörung heraus, während er die Städte, in denen Lot gewohnt hatte, einstürzen ließ.
Lots Töchter
30Lot zog von Zoar hinauf und ließ sich mit seinen beiden Töchtern im Gebirge nieder. Er fürchtete sich nämlich, in Zoar zu bleiben. Er wohnte in einer Höhle, er und seine beiden Töchter.31Eines Tages sagte die Ältere zur Jüngeren: Unser Vater wird alt und einen Mann, der mit uns verkehrt, wie es in aller Welt üblich ist, gibt es nicht.32Komm, geben wir unserem Vater Wein zu trinken und legen wir uns zu ihm, damit wir durch unseren Vater Nachkommen erhalten.33Sie gaben also ihrem Vater in jener Nacht Wein zu trinken; dann kam die Ältere und legte sich zu ihrem Vater. Er merkte nicht, wie sie sich hinlegte und wie sie aufstand.34Am anderen Tag sagte die Ältere zur Jüngeren: Siehe, ich habe gestern bei meinem Vater gelegen. Geben wir ihm auch heute Nacht Wein zu trinken, dann komm und leg du dich zu ihm! So werden wir durch unseren Vater Nachkommen erhalten.35Sie gaben ihrem Vater also auch in jener Nacht Wein zu trinken; dann machte sich die Jüngere auf und legte sich zu ihm. Er merkte nicht, wie sie sich hinlegte und wie sie aufstand.36Beide Töchter Lots wurden von ihrem Vater schwanger.37Die Ältere gebar einen Sohn und gab ihm den Namen Moab. Er gilt als Stammvater der Moabiter bis heute.38Auch die Jüngere gebar einen Sohn und gab ihm den Namen Ben-Ammi. Er gilt als Stammvater der Ammoniter bis heute.
1The two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them and bowed himself with his face to the earth (Gn 18,22)2and said, “My lords, please turn aside to your servant’s house and spend the night and wash your feet. Then you may rise up early and go on your way.” They said, “No; we will spend the night in the town square.” (Gn 18,4; Sd 4,18; L 24,28; Žd 13,2)3But he pressed them strongly; so they turned aside to him and entered his house. God Destroys Sodom
23The sun had risen on the earth when Lot came to Zoar.24Then the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulfur and fire from the Lord out of heaven. Lot and His Daughters
30Now Lot went up out of Zoar and lived in the hills with his two daughters, for he was afraid to live in Zoar. So he lived in a cave with his two daughters. (Gn 19,17; Gn 19,19)31And the firstborn said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is not a man on earth to come in to us after the manner of all the earth.32Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve offspring from our father.”33So they made their father drink wine that night. And the firstborn went in and lay with her father. He did not know when she lay down or when she arose.34The next day, the firstborn said to the younger, “Behold, I lay last night with my father. Let us make him drink wine tonight also. Then you go in and lie with him, that we may preserve offspring from our father.”35So they made their father drink wine that night also. And the younger arose and lay with him, and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose.36Thus both the daughters of Lot became pregnant by their father.37The firstborn bore a son and called his name Moab.[2] He is the father of the Moabites to this day.
