1 Když pak ty věci pominuly, stalo se slovo Hospodinovo k Abramovi u vidění, řkoucí: Neboj se, Abrame; já budu pavéza tvá, a odplata tvá velmi veliká. 2 Jemužto řekl Abram: Panovníče Hospodine, což mi dáš, poněvadž já scházím bez dětí, a ten, jemuž zanechám domu svého, bude Damašský Eliezer? 3 Řekl ještě Abram: Aj, mně jsi nedal semene; a aj, schovanec můj bude mým dědicem. 4 A aj, slovo Hospodinovo k němu, řkuci: Nebudeť ten dědicem tvým, ale kterýž vyjde z života tvého, ten dědicem tvým bude. 5 I vyvedl jej ven a řekl: Vzhlédniž nyní k nebi, a sečti hvězdy, budeš-li je však moci sčísti? Řekl mu ještě: Tak bude símě tvé. 6 I uvěřil Hospodinu, a počteno mu to za spravedlnost. 7 (Nebo byl řekl jemu: Já jsem Hospodin, kterýž jsem tě vyvedl z Ur Kaldejských, aťbych dal zemi tuto k dědičnému vládařství. 8 I řekl: Panovníče Hospodine, po čem poznám, že ji dědičně obdržím? 9 I odpověděl jemu: Vezmi mně jalovici tříletou, a kozu tříletou, a skopce tříletého, hrdličku také a holoubátko. 10 Kterýžto vzav ty všecky věci, zroztínal je na poly, a rozložil na dvě straně, jednu polovici proti druhé; ptáků pak nezroztínal. 11 Ptáci pak sedali na ta mrtvá těla, a Abram je sháněl. 12 I stalo se, když slunce zapadalo, že dřímota těžká připadla na Abrama; a aj, hrůza a tma veliká obklíčila jej). 13 Řekl tedy Bůh Abramovi: To zajisté věz, že pohostinu bude símě tvé v zemi cizí, a v službu je podrobí, a trápiti je budou za čtyři sta let. 14 Však národ, jemuž sloužiti budou, já souditi budu; a potom vyjdou s velikým zbožím. 15 Ty pak půjdeš k otcům svým v pokoji; a pohřben budeš v starosti dobré. 16 A čtvrté pokolení sem se navrátí; nebť ještě není doplněna nepravost Amorejských. 17 I stalo se, když zapadlo slunce, a tma bylo, a aj, ukázala se pec kouřící se, a pochodně ohnivá, kteráž šla mezi díly těmi. 18 V ten den učinil Hospodin smlouvu s Abramem, řka: Semeni tvému dám zemi tuto, od řeky Egyptské až do řeky té veliké, řeky Eufraten: 19 Cinejské, Cenezejské, Cethmonské, 20 A Hetejské, Ferezejské, a Refaimské, 21 Amorejské, i Kananejské také, a Gergezejské a Jebuzejské.

PŘED NAROZENÍM SYNA A DĚDICE - — Smlouva s Abramem - Hospodin utvrzuje Abramovu víru a smlouvou stvrzuje své zaslíbení.

1 Po těchto událostech se stalo k Abramovi ve vidění slovo Hospodinovo: „Nic se neboj, Abrame, já jsem tvůj štít, tvá přehojná odměna.“ 2 Abram však řekl: „Panovníku Hospodine, co mi chceš dát? Jsem stále bezdětný. Nárok na můj dům bude mít damašský Elíezer.“ 3 Abram dále řekl: „Ach, nedopřáls mi potomka. To má být mým dědicem správce mého domu?“ 4 Hospodin však prohlásil: „Ten tvým dědicem nebude. Tvým dědicem bude ten, který vzejde z tvého lůna.“ 5 Vyvedl ho ven a pravil: „Pohleď na nebe a sečti hvězdy, dokážeš-li je spočítat.“ A dodal: „Tak tomu bude s tvým potomstvem.“ 6 Abram Hospodinovi uvěřil a on mu to připočetl jako spravedlnost. 7 A řekl mu: „Já jsem Hospodin, já jsem tě vyvedl z Kaldejského Uru, abych ti dal do vlastnictví tuto zemi.“ 8 Abram odvětil: „Panovníku Hospodine, podle čeho poznám, že ji obdržím?“ 9 I řekl mu: „Vezmi pro mne tříletou krávu a tříletou kozu a tříletého berana, hrdličku a holoubě.“ 10 Vzal tedy pro něho to všechno, rozpůlil a dal vždy jednu půlku proti druhé; ptáky však nepůlil. 11 Tu se na ta mrtvá těla slétli dravci a Abram je odháněl. 12 Když se slunce chýlilo k západu, padly na Abrama mrákoty. A hle, padl na něho přístrach a veliká temnota. 13 Tu Hospodin Abramovi řekl: „Věz naprosto jistě, že tvoji potomci budou žít jako hosté v zemi, která nebude jejich; budou tam otročit a budou tam pokořováni po čtyři sta let. 14 Avšak proti pronárodu, jemuž budou otročit, povedu při. Potom odejdou s velkým jměním. 15 Ty vejdeš ke svým otcům v pokoji, budeš pohřben v utěšeném stáří. 16 Sem se vrátí teprve čtvrté pokolení, neboť dosud není dovršena míra Emorejcovy nepravosti.“ 17 Když pak slunce zapadlo a nastala tma tmoucí, hle, objevila se dýmající pec a mezi těmi rozpůlenými kusy prošla ohnivá pochodeň. 18 V ten den uzavřel Hospodin s Abramem smlouvu: „Tvému potomstvu dávám tuto zemi od řeky Egyptské až k řece veliké, řece Eufratu, 19 zemi Kénijců, Kenazejců a Kadmónců, 20 Chetejců, Perizejců a Refájců, 21 Emorejců, Kenaanců, Girgašejců a Jebúsejců.“

1 Po nějaké době měl Abram vidění, ve kterém dostal Hospodinovo slovo: „Neboj se, Abrame, já jsem tvůj štít, tvá nesmírná odměna.“ 2 Abram odpověděl: „Hospodine, Pane můj, co mi chceš dát? Chodím životem bezdětný a svůj dům zanechám Eliezerovi z Damašku. 3 Pohleď, nedal jsi mi potomka,“ pokračoval Abram, „a tak mým dědicem bude můj čeledín!“ 4 Vtom dostal Hospodinovo slovo: „Ten tvým dědicem nebude; tvůj dědic vyjde z tvých vlastních beder!“ 5 Vyvedl jej ven a řekl: „Pohlédni k nebi a spočítej hvězdy, budeš-li je moci spočítat.“ Pak dodal: „Tolik bude tvého semene.“ 6 Abram tehdy uvěřil Hospodinu a ten mu to počítal za spravedlnost. 7 Řekl mu také: „Já jsem Hospodin, jenž tě vyvedl z chaldejského Uru, abych ti dal za dědictví tuto zem.“ 8 Abram se zeptal: „Hospodine, Pane můj, podle čeho poznám, že ji zdědím?“ 9 On mu odpověděl: „Přines mi tříletou jalovici, tříletou kozu, tříletého berana, také hrdličku a holoubě.“ 10 Abram mu všechna ta zvířata přinesl, rozťal je napůl a položil jednu část proti druhé; ptáky však neroztínal. 11 K mrtvým tělům se snášeli dravci, ale Abram je odháněl. 12 Když pak slunce začalo zapadat, přišel na Abrama hluboký spánek. Náhle jej sevřela hluboká, děsivá tma. 13 Tehdy Hospodin Abramovi řekl: „Buď si jist, že tví potomci budou přistěhovalci v zemi, jež nebude jejich; tam budou zotročeni a utiskováni po čtyři sta let. 14 Já však také budu soudit národ, jemuž budou otročit, a tak odtud potom vyjdou s velikým jměním. 15 Ty sám se odebereš ke svým otcům v pokoji a budeš pohřben ve šťastném stáří. 16 Sem se ale vrátí až čtvrté pokolení, neboť nepravost Emorejců ještě není dovršena.“ 17 Když slunce zapadlo a nastala tma, objevila se kouřící pec a mezi těmi díly zvířat prošla ohnivá pochodeň. 18 V ten den Hospodin vstoupil s Abramem do smlouvy. Řekl: „Tuto zem dávám tvému semeni; od Egyptské řeky až po tu velikou řeku, řeku Eufrat: 19 Kenijce, Kenizejce a Kadmonce, 20 Chetejce, Perizejce, Refajce, 21 Emorejce, Kanaánce, Girgašejce a Jebusejce.“

1 Nach diesen Ereignissen erging das Wort des HERRN in einer Vision an Abram: Fürchte dich nicht, Abram, ich selbst bin dir ein Schild; dein Lohn wird sehr groß sein. (Ž 3,4) 2 Abram antwortete: Herr und GOTT, was kannst du mir geben? Ich gehe kinderlos dahin und Erbe meines Hauses ist Eliëser aus Damaskus.^[1] 3 Und Abram sagte: Siehe, du hast mir keine Nachkommen gegeben; so wird mich mein Haussklave beerben. 4 Aber siehe, das Wort des HERRN erging an ihn: Nicht er wird dich beerben, sondern dein leiblicher Sohn wird dein Erbe sein. 5 Er führte ihn hinaus und sprach: Sieh doch zum Himmel hinauf und zähl die Sterne, wenn du sie zählen kannst! 6 Und er glaubte dem HERRN und das rechnete er ihm als Gerechtigkeit an. Und siehe, Angst und großes Dunkel fielen auf ihn. 13 Er sprach zu Abram: Du sollst wissen: Deine Nachkommen werden als Fremde in einem Land wohnen, das ihnen nicht gehört. Sie werden dort als Sklaven dienen und man wird sie vierhundert Jahre lang unterdrücken. 14 Aber auch über das Volk, dem sie als Sklaven dienen, werde ich Gericht halten und nachher werden sie mit reicher Habe ausziehen. (Ex 12,35) 15 Du aber wirst in Frieden zu deinen Vätern heimgehen; im glücklichen Alter wirst du begraben werden. (Gn 25,8) 16 Erst die vierte Generation wird hierher zurückkehren; denn noch hat die Schuld der Amoriter nicht ihr volles Maß erreicht. 17 Die Sonne war untergegangen und es war dunkel geworden. Und siehe, ein rauchender Ofen und eine lodernde Fackel waren da; sie fuhren zwischen jenen Fleischstücken hindurch. 18 An diesem Tag schloss der HERR mit Abram folgenden Bund: Deinen Nachkommen gebe ich dieses Land vom Strom Ägyptens bis zum großen Strom, dem Eufrat-Strom, (Gn 13,15) 19 die Keniter, die Kenasiter, die Kadmoniter, 20 die Hetiter, die Perisiter, die Rafaïter, 21 die Amoriter, die Kanaaniter, die Girgaschiter und die Jebusiter.
