1 Vstoupil tedy Abram z Egypta on i žena jeho i všecko, což měl, a Lot s ním, ku poledni. 2 (Byl pak Abram bohatý velmi na dobytek, na stříbro i na zlato.) 3 A šel cestami svými od poledne až do Bethel, až k místu tomu, kdež prvé byl stánek jeho, mezi Bethel a Hai, 4 K místu oltáře, kterýž tam byl prvé vzdělal, kdežto vzýval Abram jméno Hospodinovo. 5 Také i Lot, kterýž s Abramem chodil, měl ovce a voly i stany. 6 A nemohla jim země postačovati, aby spolu bydlili, proto že zboží jich bylo veliké, tak že nemohli spolu bydliti. 7 Odkudž vznikla nesnáz mezi pastýři stáda Abramova a mezi pastýři stáda Lotova; nebo Kananejští a Ferezejští tehdáž bydlili v zemi té. 8 Řekl tedy Abram k Lotovi: Nechžť, prosím, není nesnáze mezi mnou a tebou, a mezi pastýři mými a pastýři tvými, poněvadž muži bratří jsme. 9 Zdaliž není před tebou všecka země? Odděl se, prosím, ode mne. Půjdeš-li na levo, já na pravo se držeti budu; pakli půjdeš na pravo, na levo se držeti budu. 10 Pozdvih tedy Lot očí svých, spatřil všecku rovinu vůkol Jordánu, kteráž před tím, než Hospodin zkazil Sodomu a Gomoru, všecka až k Ségor svlažována byla, jako zahrada Hospodinova, a jako země Egyptská. 11 I zvolil sobě Lot všecku rovinu Jordánskou, a bral se k východu; a tak oddělili se jeden od druhého. 12 Abram bydlil v zemi Kananejské, ale Lot přebýval v městech té roviny, podav stanů až k Sodomě. 13 Lidé pak Sodomští byli zlí, a hříšníci před Hospodinem velicí. 14 I řekl Hospodin Abramovi, když se oddělil od něho Lot: Pozdvihni nyní očí svých, a pohleď z místa, na němž jsi, na půlnoci a na poledne, i na východ a na západ. 15 Nebo všecku zemi, kterouž vidíš, tobě dám a semeni tvému až na věky. 16 A rozmnožím símě tvé jako prach země; nebo jestliže kdo bude moci sčísti prach země, tedy i símě tvé sečteno bude. 17 Vstaň, projdi tu zemi na dýl i na šíř její; nebo tobě ji dám. 18 Tedy Abram hnuv se s stanem, přišel a bydlil v rovinách Mamre, kteréž jsou při Hebronu, kdežto vzdělal oltář Hospodinu.

— Rozchod Lota s Abramem - Lot se usazuje v okrsku jordánském. Abramovi a jeho potomkům je znovu zaslíbena kenaanská země.

1 I vystoupil Abram z Egypta se svou ženou a se vším, co měl, do Negebu; byl s ním i Lot. 2 Abram byl velice zámožný, měl stáda, stříbro i zlato. 3 Postupoval po stanovištích od Negebu až k Bét-elu, na místo mezi Bét-elem a Ajem, kde byl zprvu jeho stan, 4 k místu, kde předtím postavil oltář; tam vzýval Abram Hospodinovo jméno. 5 Také Lot, který putoval s Abramem, měl brav a skot i stany. 6 Země jim však nevynášela tolik, aby mohli sídlit pospolu, a jejich jmění bylo tak značné, že nemohli sídlit pohromadě. 7 Proto došlo k rozepři mezi pastýři stáda Abramova a pastýři stáda Lotova. Tehdy v zemi sídlili Kenaanci a Perizejci. 8 Tu řekl Abram Lotovi: „Ať nejsou rozepře mezi mnou a tebou a mezi pastýři mými a tvými, vždyť jsme muži bratři. 9 Zdalipak není před tebou celá země? Odděl se prosím ode mne. Dáš-li se nalevo, já se dám napravo. Dáš-li se ty napravo, já se dám nalevo.“ 10 Lot se rozhlédl a spatřil celý okrsek Jordánu směrem k Sóaru, že je celý zavlažován, že je jako zahrada Hospodinova, jako země egyptská. To bylo předtím, než Hospodin zničil Sodomu a Gomoru. 11 Proto si Lot vybral celý okrsek Jordánu a odtáhl na východ. Tak se od sebe oddělili. 12 Abram se usadil v zemi kenaanské a Lot se usadil v městech toho okrsku a stanoval až u Sodomy. 13 Sodomští muži však byli před Hospodinem velice zlí a hříšní. 14 Poté, co se Lot od něho oddělil, řekl Hospodin Abramovi: „Rozhlédni se z místa, na němž jsi, pohlédni na sever i na jih, na východ i na západ, 15 neboť celou tu zemi, kterou vidíš, dám tobě a tvému potomstvu až navěky. 16 A učiním, že tvého potomstva bude jako prachu země. Bude-li kdo moci sečíst prach země, pak bude i tvé potomstvo sečteno. 17 Teď projdi křížem krážem tuto zemi, neboť ti ji dávám.“ 18 Hnul se tedy Abram se stany, přišel a usadil se při božišti Mamre, které je u Chebrónu. I tam vybudoval Hospodinu oltář.

Rozchod s Lotem

1 Abram tedy se svou manželkou a se vším, co měl, i s Lotem odešel z Egypta vzhůru do Negevu. 2 (Abram byl velmi bohatý ve stádech, ve stříbře i ve zlatě.) 3 A šel po svých starých cestách od Negevu až k Bet-elu, k místu, kde zpočátku stával jeho stan mezi Bet-elem a Ajem, 4 k místu oltáře, který tam předtím postavil. Tam Abram vzýval Hospodinovo jméno. 5 Také Lot, který šel s Abramem, měl brav, skot a stany. 6 Země jim však nemohla stačit, aby bydleli spolu. Jejich jmění bylo totiž tak rozsáhlé, že nemohli bydlet pohromadě. 7 Proto došlo mezi pastýři Abramova stáda a pastýři Lotova stáda k rozepři. (V zemi tenkrát bydleli Kanaánci a Perizejci.) 8 Abram tehdy Lotovi řekl: „Prosím, ať mezi mnou a tebou a mezi mými a tvými pastýři není rozepře – jsme přece bratři. 9 Neleží snad před tebou celá země? Odděl se ode mě, prosím. Půjdeš-li vlevo, já půjdu vpravo; půjdeš-li vpravo, půjdu vlevo.“ 10 Lot pozvedl oči a viděl, že celá jordánská rovina je až k Coaru bohatě zavlažována jako Hospodinova zahrada, jako egyptská země (- bylo to předtím, než Hospodin zničil Sodomu a Gomoru). 11 Lot si tedy vybral celou jordánskou rovinu a vydal se na východ. Tak se jeden od druhého oddělili. 12 Abram bydlel v kanaánské zemi, ale Lot bydlel ve městech jordánské roviny a postavil své stany až k Sodomě. 13 Sodomští lidé však byli zlí a velmi hřešili proti Hospodinu. 14 Poté, co se od něho Lot oddělil, řekl Hospodin Abramovi: „Pozvedni oči z místa, na němž jsi, a rozhlédni se na sever, na jih, na východ i na západ. 15 Všechnu zemi, kterou vidíš, dám tobě a tvému semeni až navěky. 16 Způsobím, že tvého semene bude jako prachu země: bude-li možné sečíst zemský prach, půjde sečíst i tvé símě. 17 Vstaň, projdi tu zemi nadél i našíř, neboť tobě ji dám.“ 18 Abram tedy přesunul svůj stan a usadil se u háje Mamre, který je v Hebronu, a postavil tam oltář Hospodinu.

Abraham und Lot

1 Abram zog von Ägypten in den Negeb hinauf, er und seine Frau mit allem, was ihm gehörte, und mit ihm auch Lot. 2 Abram hatte einen sehr ansehnlichen Besitz an Vieh, Silber und Gold. 3 Er ging von einem Lagerplatz zum anderen weiter, vom Negeb bis nach Bet-El, bis zu der Stätte, an der anfangs sein Zelt gestanden hatte, zwischen Bet-El und Ai, (Gn 12,8) 4 der Stätte, an der er früher den Altar errichtet hatte. Dort rief Abram den Namen des HERRN an. 5 Auch Lot, der mit Abram ging, besaß Schafe und Ziegen, Rinder und Zelte. 6 Das Land reichte nicht hin, dass sich beide nebeneinander darin hätten ansiedeln können; denn ihr Besitz war zu groß und so konnten sie sich nicht miteinander niederlassen. 7 So entstand Streit zwischen den Hirten der Herde Abrams und den Hirten der Herde Lots; auch siedelten damals noch die Kanaaniter und die Perisiter im Land. 8 Da sagte Abram zu Lot: Zwischen mir und dir, zwischen meinen und deinen Hirten soll es keinen Streit geben; wir sind doch Brüder. 9 Liegt nicht das ganze Land vor dir? Trenn dich also von mir! Wenn du nach links willst, gehe ich nach rechts; wenn du nach rechts willst, gehe ich nach links. 10 Lot erhob seine Augen und sah, dass die ganze Jordangegend überall bewässert war. Bevor der HERR Sodom und Gomorra vernichtete, war sie bis Zoar hin wie der Garten des HERRN, wie das Land Ägypten. (Gn 19,24) 11 Da wählte sich Lot die ganze Jordangegend aus. Lot brach nach Osten auf und sie trennten sich voneinander. 12 Abram ließ sich im Land Kanaan nieder, während Lot sich in den Städten jener Gegend niederließ und seine Zelte bis Sodom hin aufschlug. 13 Die Männer von Sodom aber waren sehr böse und sündigten vor dem HERRN. 14 Nachdem sich Lot von Abram getrennt hatte, sprach der HERR zu Abram: Erheb deine Augen und schau von der Stelle, an der du stehst, nach Norden und Süden, nach Osten und Westen! 15 Das ganze Land nämlich, das du siehst, will ich dir und deinen Nachkommen für immer geben. (Gn 17,8; Gn 26,3; Gn 28,13) 16 Ich mache deine Nachkommen zahlreich wie den Staub auf der Erde. Nur wer den Staub auf der Erde zählen kann, wird auch deine Nachkommen zählen können. (Gn 28,14; Nu 23,10) 17 Mach dich auf, durchzieh das Land in seiner Länge und Breite; denn dir werde ich es geben. 18 Da zog Abram mit seinen Zelten weiter und ließ sich bei den Eichen von Mamre in Hebron nieder. Abram and Lot Separate

1 So Abram went up from Egypt, he and his wife and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the Negeb. (Gn 12,9) 2 Now Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold. (Gn 24,35; Ž 112,1; Př 10,22) 3 And he journeyed on from the Negeb as far as Bethel to the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai, 4 to the place where he had made an altar at the first. And there Abram called upon the name of the Lord. (Gn 12,7) 5 And Lot, who went with Abram, also had flocks and herds and tents, 6 so that the land could not support both of them dwelling together; for their possessions were so great that they could not dwell together, (Gn 36,6) 7 and there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram’s livestock and the herdsmen of Lot’s livestock. At that time the Canaanites and the Perizzites were dwelling in the land. 11 So Lot chose for himself all the Jordan Valley, and Lot journeyed east. Thus they separated from each other. 12 Abram settled in the land of Canaan, while Lot settled among the cities of the valley and moved his tent as far as Sodom. 13 Now the men of Sodom were wicked, great sinners against the Lord.
