1 I svolal Mojžíš všecken lid Izraelský, a řekl jim: Slyš, Izraeli, ustanovení a soudy, kteréž já dnes mluvím v uši vaše; naučte se jim, a v skutku jich ostříhejte. 2 Hospodin Bůh náš učinil s námi smlouvu na Orébě. 3 Ne s otci našimi učinil Hospodin tu smlouvu, ale s námi, kteříž zde jsme nyní my všickni živí. 4 Tváří v tvář mluvil Hospodin s vámi na té hoře z prostředku ohně, 5 (Já jsem pak stál mezi Hospodinem a mezi vámi toho času, abych oznámil vám řeč Hospodinovu; nebo jste se báli ohně, a nevstoupili jste na horu), řka: 6 Já jsem Hospodin Bůh tvůj, kterýž jsem tě vyvedl z země Egyptské z domu služby. 7 Nebudeš míti bohů jiných přede mnou. 8 Neučiníš sobě rytiny , ani jakého podobenství těch věcí, kteréž jsou na nebi svrchu, ani těch, kteréž na zemi dole, ani těch, kteréž jsou u vodách pod zemí. 9 Nebudeš se jim klaněti, ani jich ctíti. Nebo já jsem Hospodin Bůh tvůj, Bůh silný, horlivý, navštěvující nepravost otců na synech do třetího i čtvrtého pokolení těch, kteříž nenávidí mne, 10 A činící milosrdenství nad tisíci těch, kteříž mne milují, a ostříhají přikázaní mých. 11 Nevezmeš jména Hospodina Boha svého nadarmo, neboť nenechá bez pomsty Hospodin toho, kdož by bral jméno jeho nadarmo. 12 Ostříhej dne sobotního, abys jej světil, jakož přikázal tobě Hospodin Bůh tvůj. 13 Šest dní pracovati budeš, a dělati všeliké dílo své; 14 Ale dne sedmého odpočinutí jest Hospodina Boha tvého. Nebudeš dělati žádného díla, ty i syn tvůj i dcera tvá, i služebník tvůj i děvka tvá, vůl i osel tvůj i všeliké hovado tvé, i příchozí tvůj, kterýž jest v branách tvých, aby odpočinul služebník tvůj a děvka tvá jako i ty. 15 A pamatuj, že jsi byl služebníkem v zemi Egyptské, a vyvedl tě Hospodin Bůh tvůj odtud v ruce silné, a v rameni vztaženém. Protož přikázal tobě Hospodin Bůh tvůj, abys světil den sváteční. 16 Cti otce svého i matku svou, jakož přikázal tobě Hospodin Bůh tvůj, aby se prodleli dnové tvoji, a aby tobě dobře bylo na zemi, kterouž Hospodin Bůh tvůj dá tobě. 17 Nezabiješ. 18 Nesesmilníš. 19 Nepokradeš. 20 Nepromluvíš proti bližnímu svému křivého svědectví. 21 Nepožádáš manželky bližního svého, aniž požádáš domu bližního svého, pole jeho, neb služebníka jeho, aneb děvky jeho, vola jeho neb osla jeho, aneb čehokoli z těch věcí, kteréž jsou bližního tvého. 22 Ta slova mluvil Hospodin ke všemu shromáždění vašemu na hoře z prostředku ohně, oblaku a mrákoty, hlasem velikým, a nepřidal nic více, a napsal je na dvou dskách kamenných, kteréž mně dal. 23 Vy pak když jste uslyšeli hlas z prostředku tmy, (nebo hora ohněm hořela), přistoupili jste ke mně všickni vůdcové pokolení vašich a starší vaši, 24 A řekli jste: Ej, ukázal nám Hospodin Bůh náš slávu svou a velikost svou, a slyšeli jsme hlas jeho z prostředku ohně; dnešního dne viděli jsme, že Bůh mluvil s člověkem, a on živ zůstal. 25 Protož nyní proč máme zemříti? Nebo sežral by nás oheň veliký tento; jestli více slyšeti budeme hlas Hospodina Boha našeho, zemřeme. 26 Nebo co jest všeliké tělo, aby slyše hlas Boha živého mluvícího z prostředku ohně, jako my, mělo živo býti? 27 Přistup ty a slyš všecky věci, kteréž mluviti bude Hospodin Bůh náš; potom ty mluviti budeš nám, což by koli řekl tobě Hospodin Bůh náš, a my slyšeti i činiti budeme. 28 Uslyšev pak Hospodin hlas řečí vašich, když jste mluvili ke mně, řekl mi Hospodin: Slyšel jsem hlas řeči lidu tohoto, kterouž mluvili tobě. Cožkoli mluvili, dobřeť jsou mluvili. 29 Ó kdyby bylo jejich srdce takové, aby se báli mne a ostříhali přikázaní mých po všeliký čas, aby jim dobře bylo i synům jejich na věky! 30 Jdi, rci jim: Navraťte se k stanům vašim. 31 Ty pak stůj tuto při mně, a oznámím tobě všecka přikázaní, ustanovení i soudy, kterýmž je učiti budeš, aby je činili v zemi, kterouž já dávám jim, aby jí dědičně vládli. 32 Hleďtež tedy, abyste činili, jakž přikázal vám Hospodin Bůh váš; neuchylujte se na pravo ani na levo. 33 Po vší té cestě, kterouž vám přikázal Hospodin Bůh váš, choditi budete, abyste živi byli, a dobře bylo vám, a abyste prodlili dnů na zemi, kterouž dědičně obdržíte.

Já Hospodin, tvůj Bůh, jsem Bůh žárlivě milující. Stíhám vinu otců na synech i do třetího a čtvrtého pokolení těch, kteří mě nenávidí, 10 ale prokazuji milosrdenství tisícům pokolení těch, kteří mě milují a má přikázání zachovávají. 11 Nezneužiješ jména Hospodina, svého Boha. Hospodin nenechá bez trestu toho, kdo by jeho jména zneužíval. 12 Dbej na den odpočinku, aby ti byl svatý, jak ti přikázal Hospodin, tvůj Bůh. 13 Šest dní budeš pracovat a dělat všechnu svou práci. 14 Ale sedmý den je den odpočinutí Hospodina, tvého Boha. Nebudeš dělat žádnou práci ani ty ani tvůj syn a tvá dcera ani tvůj otrok a tvá otrokyně ani tvůj býk a tvůj osel, žádné tvé dobytče ani tvůj host, který žije v tvých branách, aby odpočinul tvůj otrok a tvá otrokyně tak jako ty. 15 Pamatuj, že jsi byl otrokem v egyptské zemi a že tě Hospodin, tvůj Bůh, odtud vyvedl pevnou rukou a vztaženou paží. Nebudeš toužit po domě svého bližního ani po jeho poli ani po jeho otroku ani po jeho otrokyni ani po jeho býku ani po jeho oslu, vůbec po ničem, co patří tvému bližnímu.“ 22 Tato slova mluvil Hospodin k celému vašemu shromáždění na hoře zprostředku ohně, oblaku a mrákoty mocným hlasem a víc nepřipojil. Napsal je na dvě kamenné desky a dal je mně. 23 Jakmile jste uslyšeli hlas zprostředku tmy, zatímco hora planula ohněm, přistoupili jste ke mně, všichni představitelé vašich kmenů a vaši starší, 24 a řekli jste: „Hle, Hospodin, náš Bůh, nám ukázal svou slávu a velikost. Slyšeli jsme jeho hlas zprostředku ohně a viděli jsme dnešního dne, že Bůh mluví s člověkem a ten může zůstat naživu. 25 Ale proč bychom teď měli zemřít? Vždyť nás tento veliký oheň pozře. Uslyšíme-li ještě dál hlas Hospodina, svého Boha, zemřeme. 26 Kdo ze všeho tvorstva by mohl slyšet hlas živého Boha, mluvícího zprostředku ohně, jako slyšíme my, a zůstat naživu? 27 Přistup k němu ty a vyslechni všechno, co Hospodin, náš Bůh, řekne. Ty nám pak vypovíš všechno, co k tobě promluví Hospodin, náš Bůh, a my to vyposlechneme a učiníme.“ 28 Hospodin vyslechl vaše slova, když jste mluvili ke mně, a řekl mi: „Vyslechl jsem slova tohoto lidu, jak mluvili k tobě. Dobře to všechno pověděli. 29 Kéž mají stále takové srdce, aby se mě báli po všechny dny a dbali na všechny mé příkazy, aby se jim i jejich synům vždycky vedlo dobře. 30 Jdi, řekni jim: ‚Vraťte se do svých stanů.‘ 31 Ty však zde u mne stůj a já ti sdělím všechna přikázání, nařízení a práva, kterým je budeš učit, aby je dodržovali v zemi, kterou jim dávám do vlastnictví.“ 32 Bedlivě dodržujte, co vám přikázal Hospodin, váš Bůh, neuchylujte se napravo ani nalevo. 33 Musíte se ve všem držet cesty, kterou vám Hospodin, váš Bůh, přikázal jít, a tak zůstanete naživu, dobře se vám povede a budete dlouho živi v zemi, kterou máte obsadit.

Mojžíš prostředníkem

22 Tato slova promluvil Hospodin k celému vašemu shromáždění na oné hoře. Řekl je mocným hlasem z prostředku ohně, oblaku a mračna a nic k nim nedodal. Napsal je na dvě kamenné desky a dal je mně. 23 Když jste uslyšeli ten hlas z prostředku tmy, zatímco hora plála ohněm, přistoupili jste ke mně – všichni představitelé vašich kmenů a vaši stařešinové – 24 a řekli jste: „Hle, Hospodin, náš Bůh, nám ukázal svou slávu a svou velikost; slyšeli jsme jeho hlas z prostředku ohně! Dnešního dne jsme viděli, že Bůh může mluvit s člověkem a ten může zůstat naživu. 25 Proč ale máme riskovat smrt? Vždyť nás ten ohromný oheň může pohltit! Budeme-li nadále muset poslouchat hlas Hospodina, našeho Boha, zemřeme. 26 Kdy který smrtelník slyšel hlas živého Boha mluvícího z prostředku ohně a zůstal naživu? 27 Přistup k němu sám a vyslechni vše, co Hospodin, náš Bůh, řekne. Potom nám povíš všechno, co Hospodin, náš Bůh, poví tobě a my to poslechneme a vykonáme.“^[1] 28 Když jste se mnou takto mluvili, Hospodin uslyšel vaše slova a řekl mi: „Slyšel jsem slova, která ti tento lid řekl. Dobře to všechno pověděli. 29 Kéž by jen měli takové srdce, aby mne po všechny dny ctili a zachovávali všechna má přikázání, aby se jim i jejich dětem navěky vedlo dobře! 30 Jdi a řekni jim, ať se vrátí ke svým stanům. 31 Ty však zůstaň zde u mne. Sdělím ti všechna přikázání, pravidla a zákony, jimž je budeš učit, aby je dodržovali v zemi, kterou jim dávám za dědictví.“ 32 Proto pečlivě dodržujte, co vám Hospodin, váš Bůh, přikázal. Neuchylujte se napravo ani nalevo. 33 Vždy jděte po cestě, kterou vám určil Hospodin, váš Bůh. Pak budete mít dlouhý a šťastný život v zemi, kterou se chystáte obsadit.

Alles, was sie von dir verlangen, ist recht. 29 Möchten sie doch diese Gesinnung behalten, mich fürchten und ihr Leben lang alle meine Gebote bewahren, damit es ihnen und ihren Nachkommen immer gut geht. 30 Geh und sag ihnen: Kehrt zu euren Zelten zurück! 31 Du aber, stell dich hierher zu mir! Ich will dir das ganze Gebot mitteilen, die Gesetze und die Rechtsentscheide, die du sie lehren sollst und die sie halten sollen in dem Land, das ich ihnen gebe und das sie in Besitz nehmen sollen. 32 Daher sollt ihr darauf achten, dass ihr handelt, wie der HERR, euer Gott, euch verpflichtet hat. Ihr sollt weder rechts noch links abweichen. 33 Ihr sollt nur auf dem Weg gehen, auf den der HERR, euer Gott, euch verpflichtet hat, damit ihr Leben habt und es euch gut geht und ihr lange lebt in dem Land, das ihr in Besitz nehmt.
