1Přišed tedy Mojžíš, mluvil slova ta ke všemu Izraelovi,2A řekl jim: Ve stu a ve dvadcíti letech jsem dnes, nemohuť již více vycházeti a vcházeti; a také řekl Hospodin ke mně: Nepřejdeš Jordánu tohoto.3Hospodin Bůh tvůj předcházející tebe vyhladí ty národy od tváři tvé, a ty dědičně je opanuješ, a Jozue tento půjde před tebou,jakož řekl Hospodin.4I učiní Hospodin jim, jakož učinil Seonovi a Ogovi králům Amorejským a zemi jejich, kteréž vyhladil.5Protož když je dá Hospodin vám, tedy učiníte jim vedlé každého přikázaní, kteréž jsem přikázal vám.6Buďte silní a zmužile se mějte, nebojte se, ani se lekejte tváři jejich, nebo Hospodin Bůh tvůj, on jde s tebou, neopustíť a nezanechá tebe.7Tedy povolal Mojžíš Jozue a řekl jemu před očima všeho Izraele: Budiž silný a zmužile se měj, nebo ty vejdeš s lidem tímto do země, kterouž s přísahou zaslíbil Hospodin otcům jejich, že ji dá jim, a ty ji rozdělíš jim v dědictví.8Hospodin pak předcházející tě, onť bude s tebou, neopustí tě, aniž tě zanechá; neboj se, ani se strachuj.9I napsal Mojžíš zákon tento a dal jej kněžím, synům Léví, kteříž nosili truhlu smlouvy Hospodinovy, a všechněm starším Izraelským,10A přikázal jim Mojžíš, řka: Každého léta sedmého, v jistý čas léta odpuštění, v svátek stanů,11Když přijde všecken Izrael a postaví se před Hospodinem Bohem tvým na místě, kteréž by vyvolil, čísti budeš zákon tento přede vším Izraelem v uších jejich,12Shromáždě lid, muže i ženy, i děti, i příchozí své, kteříž jsou v branách tvých, aby slyšíce, učili se a báli se Hospodina Boha vašeho, a hleděli činiti všecka slova zákona tohoto.13Synové také jejich, kteříž ještě toho nepoznali, ať slyší a učí se báti Hospodina Boha vašeho po všecky dny, v nichž živi budete na zemi, do níž, přejdouce Jordán, vejdete, abyste ji dědičně obdrželi.14I řekl Hospodin Mojžíšovi: Aj, již se přiblížili dnové tvoji, abys umřel. Povolej Jozue, a postavte se oba v stánku úmluvy, a přikáži jemu. Šel tedy Mojžíš a Jozue, a postavili se v stánku úmluvy.15I ukázal se Hospodin v stánku v sloupě oblakovém, a postavil se sloup oblakový nade dveřmi stánku.16Řekl pak Hospodin Mojžíšovi: Aj, ty již usneš s otci svými, potom lid tento vstana, smilniti bude, následuje bohů cizozemců země této, do níž vchází, aby bydlil u prostřed ní; tu mne opustí a zruší smlouvu mou, kterouž jsem učinil s ním.17Protož rozhněvá se na něj prchlivost má v ten den, a opustím je, i skryji tvář svou od nich, a bude sežrán, i přijdou na něj mnohé věci zlé a úzkosti. I řekne v ten den: Zdaliž ne proto přišly na mne tyto zlé věci, že Bůh můj není u prostřed mne?18Já pak daleko skryji tvář svou v ten den pro všecko to zlé, kteréž páchal, jakž se obrátil k bohům cizím.19Protož nyní napište sobě píseň tuto, a uč jí syny Izraelské; vlož ji v ústa jejich, aby ta píseň byla mi za svědka proti synům Izraelským.20Nebo uvedu jej do země, kterouž jsem s přísahou zaslíbil otcům jeho, oplývající mlékem a strdí, kdežto bude jísti a nasytí se a ztuční. Tehdy obrátí se k bohům cizím a sloužiti bude jim, i popudí mne a zruší smlouvu mou.21A když přijdou na něj mnohé zlé věci a úzkosti, tehdy bude jemu tato píseň na svědectví, (nebo nepřijde v zapomenutí, aniž odejde od úst semene jeho). Známť zajisté myšlení jeho, a co on ještě dnes činiti bude, prvé nežli jej uvedu do země, kterouž jsem s přísahou zaslíbil.22Tedy napsal Mojžíš tu píseň v ten den a učil jí syny Izraelské.23Potom dal přikázaní Jozue, synu Nun, řka: Budiž silný, a měj se zmužile, nebo ty uvedeš syny Izraelské do země, kterouž jsem jim s přísahou zaslíbil, a já budu s tebou.24Stalo se pak, když napsal Mojžíš slova zákona tohoto v knize, a dokonal je,25Že přikázal Levítům, kteříž nosili truhlu smlouvy Hospodinovy, řka:26Vezměte tu knihu zákona a vložte ji v straně truhly smlouvy Hospodina Boha vašeho, ať jest tam proti vám na svědectví.27Nebo já znám zpouru tvou a zatvrdilost šíje tvé. Aj, poněvadž, když jsem já ještě živ nyní s vámi, zpurní jste bývali Hospodinu, čím tedy více, když já umru?28Shromažďte ke mně všecky starší pokolení svých a správce vaše, abych mluvil v uši jejich slova tato, a osvědčil proti nim nebem i zemí.29Nebo vím, že po mé smrti velmi porušíte se a vystoupíte z cesty, kterouž jsem přikázal vám; pročež přijde na vás toto zlé v posledních dnech, když byste činili to, což se nelíbí Hospodinu, popouzejíce ho dílem rukou svých.30Mluvil tedy Mojžíš v uši všeho shromáždění Izraelského slova písně této, až je i dokonal.
MOJŽÍŠůV KONEC - — Mojžíš předává vedení Jozuovi - Mojžíš povzbuzuje a napomíná lid, sepisuje zákon a předává jej lévijcům, aby učili Izraelce.
1 Mojžíš šel a vyhlásil celému Izraeli tato slova.2 Řekl jim: „Je mi dnes sto dvacet let, nemohu již vycházet ani vcházet, a Hospodin mi řekl: ‚Nepřejdeš tento Jordán.‘3 Hospodin, tvůj Bůh, půjde před tebou, vyhladí před tebou ony pronárody a ty si je podrobíš. Jozue, ten půjde před tebou, jak mluvil Hospodin.4 Hospodin s nimi naloží, jako naložil se Síchonem a Ógem, emorejskými králi, které vyhladil, a s jejich zemí.5 Hospodin vám je vydá a naložíte s nimi zcela podle příkazu, který jsem vám dal.6 Buďte rozhodní a udatní, nebojte se a nemějte z nich strach, neboť sám Hospodin, tvůj Bůh, jde s tebou, nenechá tě klesnout a neopustí tě.“ 7 Mojžíš zavolal Jozua a řekl mu v přítomnosti celého Izraele: „Buď rozhodný a udatný, neboť ty vejdeš s tímto lidem do země, kterou Hospodin přísahal dát jejich otcům. Ty jim ji předáš do dědictví.8 Sám Hospodin půjde před tebou, bude s tebou, nenechá tě klesnout a neopustí tě; neboj se a neděs.“ 9 I napsal Mojžíš tento zákon a předal jej kněžím, Léviovcům, kteří nosili schránu Hospodinovy smlouvy, i všem izraelským starším.10 Mojžíš jim přikázal: „Každého sedmého roku, v roce určeném k promíjení dluhu, o slavnosti stánků,11 až přijde celý Izrael, aby se ukázal před tváří Hospodina, tvého Boha, na místě, které vyvolí, budeš předčítat tento zákon před celým Izraelem, aby jej slyšeli.12 Shromáždi lid, muže i ženy a děti i hosta, který žije v tvých branách, aby slyšeli a učili se bát Hospodina, vašeho Boha, a bedlivě dodržovali všechna slova tohoto zákona.13 Též jejich synové, kteří ho ještě neznají, ať poslouchají a učí se bát Hospodina, vašeho Boha, po všechny dny, co budete žít v zemi, do níž přejdete přes Jordán, abyste ji obsadili.“ 14 Hospodin řekl Mojžíšovi: „Hle, přiblížily se dny tvé smrti. Povolej Jozua a postavte se do stanu setkávání a já mu dám příkaz.“ Šel tedy Mojžíš s Jozuem a postavili se do stanu setkávání.15 I ukázal se Hospodin ve stanu v oblakovém sloupu. Oblakový sloup stál nad vchodem do stanu.16 Hospodin řekl Mojžíšovi: „Hle, ty ulehneš ke svým otcům a tento lid povstane a bude smilnit s cizími bohy země, do níž vstupuje, opustí mě a poruší mou smlouvu, kterou jsem s ním uzavřel.17 V onen den vzplane proti němu můj hněv. Opustím je a skryji před nimi svou tvář. Bude za pokrm svým nepřátelům a stihne ho mnohé zlo a soužení. V onen den řekne: ‚Zdali mě nestihlo toto zlo proto, že můj Bůh není uprostřed nás?‘18 A já onoho dne skryji nadobro svou tvář pro všechno to zlo, jehož se dopustil, když se obrátil k jiným bohům.19 Nyní si tedy napište tuto píseň. Uč jí syny Izraele, vlož jim ji do úst, aby byla tato píseň mým svědkem proti synům Izraele.20 Já ho totiž uvedu do té země, oplývající mlékem a medem, kterou jsem přísežně slíbil jeho otcům, ale on bude jíst, nasytí se a ztuční a obrátí se k jiným bohům. Jim budou sloužit, mne zneváží a mou smlouvu zruší.21 Až pak na něj dolehne mnohé zlo a soužení, bude tato píseň, jež neupadne v zapomenutí v ústech jeho potomstva, vypovídat proti němu jako svědek. Znám výtvory jeho mysli, vím, co udělá dnes, ještě dřív, než ho uvedu do země, kterou jsem mu přísežně slíbil.“22 Mojžíš tedy onoho dne napsal tu píseň a učil jí Izraelce.23 Hospodin pak přikázal Jozuovi, synu Núnovu, a řekl: „Buď rozhodný a udatný, neboť ty uvedeš syny Izraele do země, kterou jsem jim přísežně slíbil, a já budu s tebou.“ 24 Když Mojžíš dokončil zápis slov tohoto zákona do knihy,25 přikázal lévijcům nosícím schránu Hospodinovy smlouvy:26 „Vezměte knihu tohoto zákona a uložte ji po straně schrány smlouvy Hospodina, vašeho Boha. Tam bude proti tobě svědkem.27 Vždyť já znám tvou vzdorovitost a tvou tvrdou šíji: Hle, už dnes, kdy ještě mezi vámi žiji, vzdorujete Hospodinu; tím spíše po mé smrti!28 Svolejte ke mně všechny starší svých kmenů a své správce. Chci před nimi vyhlásit tato slova a dovolat se proti nim svědectví nebes i země.29 Vím, že po mé smrti zabřednete do zkázy a sejdete z cesty, kterou jsem vám přikázal. V posledních dnech vás pak potká zlo, protože jste páchali to, co je zlé v Hospodinových očích, a uráželi ho dílem svých rukou.“30 Nato Mojžíš vyhlásil před celým shromážděním Izraele slova této písně až do konce.
1Když Mojžíš domluvil[1] tato slova všemu Izraeli,2řekl jim: „Je mi už sto dvacet let; nemohu dále vycházet a vcházet před vámi. Navíc mi Hospodin řekl: ‚Tento Jordán nepřejdeš.‘3Sám Hospodin, váš Bůh, půjde před vámi. On sám před vámi vyhladí ony národy, abyste obsadili jejich zem. Jak Hospodin řekl, půjde před vámi Jozue.[2]4Hospodin s nimi naloží, jako naložil s emorejskými králi Sichonem a Ogem, které vyhladil, i s jejich zemí.5Až ti je Hospodin, tvůj Bůh, vydá, naložte s nimi přesně podle příkazu, který jsem vám dal.6Buďte silní a stateční, nebojte se jich ani nelekejte. Sám Hospodin, váš Bůh, jde přece s vámi; on vás neopustí ani nenechá!“7Nato Mojžíš zavolal Jozua a před očima celého Izraele mu řekl: „Buď silný a statečný, neboť ty vejdeš s tímto lidem do země, o níž Hospodin přísahal našim otcům, že jim ji dá. Právě ty jim ji předáš do dědictví.8Sám Hospodin jde před tebou, on sám bude s tebou. On tě neopustí ani nenechá, neboj se a nestrachuj.“
Pravidelné čtení zákona
9Když Mojžíš sepsal tento Zákon, předal jej levitským kněžím, kteří nosili Truhlu Hospodinovy smlouvy, i všem izraelským stařešinům.10Mojžíš jim přikázal: „Každého sedmého roku, v roce určeném k promíjení dluhů, během Slavnosti stánků11se sejde všechen Izrael, aby se ukázal před Hospodinem, tvým Bohem, na místě, které si on vyvolí. Tehdy budeš celému Izraeli předčítat tento Zákon, tak aby jej slyšeli.12Shromážděte lid – muže, ženy, děti i přistěhovalce žijící ve vašich branách – aby jej slyšeli a učili se ctít Hospodina, vašeho Boha, a pečlivě dodržovali všechna slova tohoto Zákona.13Tak to uslyší i jejich synové, kteří toto vše nezažili, a budou se učit ctít Hospodina, vašeho Boha, po všechny dny vašeho života v zemi za Jordánem, kterou jdete obsadit.“
Budoucí neposlušnost Izraele
14Hospodin Mojžíšovi řekl: „Hle, přiblížil se den tvé smrti. Zavolej Jozua a postavte se do Stanu setkávání, kde mu dám pověření.“ Mojžíš a Jozue tedy šli a postavili se do Stanu setkávání.15Hospodin se ve Stanu ukázal v oblakovém sloupu. Oblakový sloup se postavil nad vchodem do Stanu.16Hospodin Mojžíšovi řekl: „Hle, brzy ulehneš ke svým otcům. Tento lid pak vstane a půjde smilnit s cizími bohy, mezi nimiž se ocitne v zemi, do níž přichází. Opustí mne a zruší smlouvu, kterou jsem s nimi uzavřel.17V ten den proti nim vzplane můj hněv; opustím je a skryji před nimi svou tvář. Tehdy je potkají veliké pohromy a soužení, takže se stanou snadnou kořistí. V ten den si řeknou: ‚Nepotkala nás ta hrozná neštěstí proto, že uprostřed nás není náš Bůh?‘18Kvůli všemu zlu, které napáchali, však v ten den zcela skryji svou tvář – vždyť se obrátili k cizím bohům!19Proto teď napište tuto píseň. Nauč ji syny Izraele a vlož jim ji do úst, aby mi ta píseň byla svědkem proti synům Izraele.20Až je přivedu do země oplývající mlékem a medem, kterou jsem s přísahou zaslíbil jejich otcům, budou jíst do sytosti, až k otylosti. Tehdy se obrátí k cizím bohům a budou jim sloužit; mnou pak pohrdnou a mou smlouvu zruší.21Až je pak potkají hrozné pohromy a soužení, bude tato píseň vypovídat jako svědek proti nim (nebude totiž zapomenuta, ani jejich potomkům nesejde ze rtů). Již dnes přece znám jejich představy i skutky, ještě než je uvedu do země, kterou jsem jim s přísahou zaslíbil.“22Mojžíš tu píseň napsal ještě téhož dne a syny Izraele ji naučil.23Nato Hospodin přikázal Jozuovi, synu Nunovu: „Buď silný a statečný! Ty přivedeš syny Izraele do země, kterou jsem jim s přísahou zaslíbil, a já budu s tebou.“24Když Mojžíš sepsal slova tohoto Zákona od začátku až do konce,25přikázal levitům nosícím Truhlu Hospodinovy smlouvy:26„Vezměte tuto knihu Zákona a uložte ji vedle Truhly smlouvy Hospodina, našeho Boha, ať je tam svědkem proti vám.27Znám přece vaši vzpurnost a tvrdošíjnost! Hle, bouříte se proti Hospodinu už dnes, když jsem mezi vámi. Čím spíš poté, co umřu?28Shromážděte ke mně všechny stařešiny svých kmenů a své správce, abych jim přednesl tato slova a dosvědčil je před nebem a zemí.29Vím, že po mé smrti se zvrhnete a sejdete z cesty, kterou jsem vám přikázal. Budete-li v očích Hospodina, svého Boha, páchat špatnost a popouzet ho svými výtvory, potká vás nakonec neštěstí.“
Mojžíšova píseň
30Mojžíš pak celému izraelskému shromáždění přednesl slova této písně od začátku až do konce:
1Mose trat vor ganz Israel hin und sprach diese Worte.2Er sagte zu ihnen: Ich bin jetzt hundertzwanzig Jahre alt. Ich kann nicht mehr in den Kampf ziehen. Auch hat der HERR zu mir gesagt: Du wirst den Jordan hier nicht überschreiten. (Dt 1,37; Dt 20,2; Dt 34,7)3Der HERR, dein Gott, zieht selbst vor dir hinüber, er selbst vernichtet diese Völker bei deinem Angriff, sodass du ihren Besitz übernehmen kannst. Josua zieht vor dir hinüber, wie es der HERR zugesagt hat. (Dt 9,3)4Der HERR wird an ihnen tun, was er an Sihon und Og, den Amoriterkönigen, die er vernichtete, und an ihrem Land getan hat. (Nu 21,21; Dt 7,1)5Der HERR wird sie euch ausliefern: Dann sollt ihr an ihnen genau nach dem Gebot handeln, auf das ich euch verpflichtet habe. (Dt 20,16)6Empfangt Vollmacht und Kraft: Fürchtet euch nicht und weicht nicht erschreckt zurück, wenn sie angreifen! Denn der HERR, dein Gott, er zieht mit dir. Er lässt dich nicht fallen und verlässt dich nicht. (Dt 31,8; Žd 13,5)7Mose rief Josua herbei und sagte vor den Augen ganz Israels zu ihm: Empfange Vollmacht und Kraft: Du sollst mit diesem Volk in das Land hineinziehen, von dem du weißt: Der HERR hat ihren Vätern geschworen, es ihnen zu geben. Du sollst es an sie als Erbbesitz verteilen.[1] (Dt 1,8; Dt 3,28)8Der HERR selbst zieht vor dir her. Er ist mit dir. Er lässt dich nicht fallen und verlässt dich nicht. Du sollst dich nicht fürchten und keine Angst haben.
Verlesung des Gesetzes im Sabbatjahr
9Mose schrieb diese Weisung auf und übergab sie den Priestern, den Nachkommen Levis, die die Lade des Bundes des HERRN trugen, und allen Ältesten Israels. (Dt 1,15; Dt 10,8; Dt 17,18; Dt 31,26)10Mose gebot ihnen: In jedem siebten Jahr, in einer der Festzeiten des Brachjahres, beim Laubhüttenfest, (Dt 15,1; Dt 16,13)11wenn ganz Israel zusammenkommt, um an der Stätte, die der HERR erwählen wird, vor dem Angesicht des HERRN, deines Gottes, zu erscheinen, sollst du diese Weisung vor ganz Israel laut vortragen. (Dt 12,14)12Versammle das Volk - die Männer und Frauen, Kinder und Greise, dazu die Fremden, die in deinen Stadtbereichen Wohnrecht haben -, damit sie zuhören und auswendig lernen und den HERRN, euren Gott, fürchten und darauf achten, dass sie alle Bestimmungen dieser Weisung halten! (Dt 29,10)13Vor allem ihre Kinder, die das alles noch nicht kennen, sollen zuhören und lernen, den HERRN, euren Gott, zu fürchten. Das sollt ihr so lange tun, wie ihr in dem Land lebt, in das ihr jetzt über den Jordan hinüberzieht, um es in Besitz zu nehmen. (Dt 4,10; Dt 12,1; Dt 32,46)
Erscheinung Gottes
14Der HERR sagte zu Mose: Sieh, deine Zeit ist gekommen: Du wirst sterben. Ruf Josua und tritt mit ihm in das Offenbarungszelt, damit ich ihn beauftragen kann. Mose und Josua gingen hin und traten in das Offenbarungszelt hinein. (Ex 33,7)15Der HERR erschien ihnen am Zelt in einer Wolkensäule. Die Wolkensäule stand über dem Eingang des Zeltes.
Offenbarung des Moseliedes
16Und der HERR sagte zu Mose: Sieh, du wirst jetzt bald zu deinen Vätern gebettet werden. Dann wird dieses Volk sich erheben; man wird in seiner Mitte Unzucht treiben, indem man den fremden Göttern des Landes nachfolgt, in das es jetzt hineinzieht, es wird mich verlassen und meinen Bund brechen, den ich mit ihm geschlossen habe. (Ex 34,15; Dt 29,24; Sd 2,17; Sd 8,27)17An jenem Tag wird mein Zorn gegen sie entbrennen. Ich werde sie verlassen und mein Angesicht vor ihnen verbergen. Dann wird dieses Volk verzehrt werden. Not und Zwang jeder Art werden es treffen. An jenem Tag wird es sich fragen: Hat mich diese Not nicht deshalb getroffen, weil mein Gott nicht mehr in meiner Mitte ist? (Dt 32,20)18Aber ich werde an jenem Tag mein Angesicht nur noch mehr verbergen wegen all des Bösen, das dieses Volk getan hat; denn es hat sich anderen Göttern zugewandt.19Doch jetzt schreibt dieses Lied auf! Lehre es die Israeliten! Lass es sie auswendig lernen, damit dieses Lied mein Zeuge gegen die Israeliten werde! (Dt 32,1)20Wenn ich dieses Volk in das Land geführt habe, das ich seinen Vätern mit einem Schwur versprochen habe, in das Land, wo Milch und Honig fließen, und wenn es gegessen hat und satt und fett geworden ist und sich anderen Göttern zugewandt hat, wenn sie ihnen gedient und mich verworfen haben und es so meinen Bund gebrochen hat, (Dt 1,8; Dt 6,3; Dt 29,24; Dt 32,13)21dann wird, wenn Not und Zwang jeder Art es treffen, dieses Lied vor ihm als Zeuge aussagen; denn seine Nachkommen werden es nicht vergessen, sondern es auswendig wissen. Ich kenne seine Neigung, die sich schon heute regt, noch ehe ich es in das Land gebracht habe, das ich mit einem Schwur versprochen habe. (Dt 31,26; Dt 32,23)22An jenem Tag schrieb Mose dieses Lied auf und lehrte es die Israeliten.
Josuas Einsetzung durch Gott
23Der HERR aber beauftragte Josua, den Sohn Nuns, und sagte: Empfange Vollmacht und Kraft: Du sollst die Israeliten in das Land führen, das ich ihnen mit einem Schwur versprochen habe. Ich werde bei dir sein. (Dt 1,38)
Hinterlegung des Gesetzes
24Als Mose damit zu Ende war, den Text dieser Weisung in eine Urkunde einzutragen, ohne irgendetwas auszulassen,25befahl Mose den Leviten, die die Lade des Bundes des HERRN trugen:26Nehmt diese Urkunde der Weisung entgegen und legt sie neben die Lade des Bundes des HERRN, eures Gottes! Dort diene sie als Zeuge gegen dich. (Dt 9,6; Dt 31,9; J 5,45)27Denn ich kenne deine Widersetzlichkeit und deine Hartnäckigkeit. Seht, schon jetzt, wo ich noch unter euch lebe, habt ihr euch dem HERRN widersetzt. Was wird erst nach meinem Tod geschehen?28Versammelt um mich alle Ältesten eurer Stämme und alle eure Listenführer, damit ich ihnen diesen Text vortragen und Himmel und Erde gegen sie als Zeugen anrufen kann! (Dt 1,15; Dt 4,26; Dt 30,19)29Denn ich weiß: Nach meinem Tod werdet ihr ins Verderben laufen und von dem Weg abweichen, auf den ich euch verpflichtet habe. Dann, in künftigen Tagen, wird euch die Not begegnen, weil ihr tut, was in den Augen des HERRN böse ist, und weil ihr ihn durch euer Machwerk erzürnt. (Dt 4,16; Dt 9,12; Dt 27,15)
Lied des Mose
30Und Mose trug der vollzähligen Versammlung Israels den Wortlaut dieses Liedes vor, ohne irgendetwas auszulassen: (Dt 5,22)
1So Moses continued to speak these words to all Israel.2And he said to them, “I am 120 years old today. I am no longer able to go out and come in. The Lord has said to me, ‘You shall not go over this Jordan.’ (Ex 7,7; Nu 27,17; Dt 1,37; Dt 3,27; Dt 34,7)3The Lord your God himself will go over before you. He will destroy these nations before you, so that you shall dispossess them, and Joshua will go over at your head, as the Lord has spoken. The Reading of the Law
9Then Moses wrote this law and gave it to the priests, the sons of Levi, who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and to all the elders of Israel. (Nu 4,15; Dt 17,18; Jz 3,3; Jz 8,33; 1Pa 15,15)10And Moses commanded them, “At the end of every seven years, at the set time in the year of release, at the Feast of Booths, (Lv 23,34; Dt 15,1)11when all Israel comes to appear before the Lord your God at the place that he will choose, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing. (Ex 23,14; Ex 23,17; Ex 34,23; Dt 16,16; Jz 8,34; 2Kr 23,2; Neh 8,1)12Assemble the people, men, women, and little ones, and the sojourner within your towns, that they may hear and learn to fear the Lord your God, and be careful to do all the words of this law, (Dt 4,10)13and that their children, who have not known it, may hear and learn to fear the Lord your God, as long as you live in the land that you are going over the Jordan to possess.” (Dt 4,10; Dt 11,2; Ž 78,5)
Joshua Commissioned to Lead Israel
14And the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, the days approach when you must die. Call Joshua and present yourselves in the tent of meeting, that I may commission him.” And Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves in the tent of meeting. (Nu 27,13; Nu 27,19; Dt 31,23; Dt 34,5)15And the Lord appeared in the tent in a pillar of cloud. And the pillar of cloud stood over the entrance of the tent. (Ex 33,9; Nu 12,5)16And the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, you are about to lie down with your fathers. Then this people will rise and whore after the foreign gods among them in the land that they are entering, and they will forsake me and break my covenant that I have made with them. (Ex 34,15; Lv 20,5; Nu 15,39; Dt 31,14; Dt 32,15; Sd 2,12; Sd 2,20; Sd 10,6; Sd 10,13)17Then my anger will be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them and hide my face from them, and they will be devoured. How much more after my death!
