1L’Eternel m’adressa la parole en ces termes:2Fils d’homme, tourne-toi en direction des montagnes d’Israël, et prophétise contre elles3en disant: Montagnes d’Israël, écoutez la parole du Seigneur l’Eternel! Car voici ce que dit le Seigneur, l’Eternel, aux monts et aux collines, aux vallées, aux ravins: Je vais faire venir l’épée contre vous et je détruirai vos hauts lieux.4Vos autels seront dévastés, vos encensoirs seront réduits en pièces, et je ferai tomber vos blessés devant vos idoles.5J’étendrai les cadavres des Israélites devant les statues de vos dieux, et je disperserai vos os autour de vos autels[1]. (2R 23:14; Jr 36:30)6Sur toute l’étendue de votre territoire, les villes seront dévastées et les hauts lieux détruits afin que vos autels soient démolis, que vos idoles soient brisées et anéanties, et que vos encensoirs soient cassés et qu’il ne reste rien de tout ce que vous avez fait.7Au milieu de vous, des blessés tomberont, et vous reconnaîtrez que je suis l’Eternel.8Mais je vous laisserai un reste d’entre vous: des rescapés de l’épée qui survivront parmi les autres peuples, ils seront dispersés dans différents pays.9Et parmi ces peuples qui les retiendront captifs, vos rescapés se souviendront de moi, car je briserai leur cœur prostitué[2] qui s’est détourné de moi, et les yeux adultères qui se sont tournés vers leurs idoles. Ils se prendront alors eux-mêmes en dégoût pour le mal qu’ils ont fait et pour toutes leurs abominations10et ils reconnaîtront que je suis l’Eternel: que ce n’est pas en vain que j’ai parlé de leur causer ce malheur.

11Voici ce que déclare le Seigneur, l’Eternel: Va, frappe dans ta main, tape du pied et dis: Hélas, pour tout le mal abominable commis par les gens d’Israël qui sont près de tomber dévorés par l’épée, la famine et la peste.12Celui qui sera loin périra de la peste, celui qui sera près tombera par l’épée. Celui qui restera, qui aura été préservé jusque-là, mourra par la famine, et toute ma colère s’assouvira sur eux;13et vous reconnaîtrez que je suis l’Eternel, quand leurs blessés tomberont au beau milieu de leurs idoles, autour de leurs autels, sur toute colline élevée, jusque sur les sommets des montagnes, sous tous les arbres verts et sous tout chêne verdoyant, ces endroits où ils offrent un parfum apaisant à toutes leurs idoles.14Je brandirai ma main contre eux, je dévasterai leur pays pour en faire une solitude, du désert à Ribla[3], partout où ils habitent, et ils reconnaîtront que je suis l’Eternel.

So spricht der Herr, HERR, zu den Bergen und zu den Hügeln, zu den Bachrinnen und zu den Tälern: Siehe, ich, ich bringe das Schwert über euch und werde eure Höhen zugrunde richten. (Lv 26:25; Lv 26:30; Ez 36:1; Am 7:9; Mi 6:1)4Und eure Altäre sollen verwüstet und eure Räucheraltäre zerbrochen werden. Und ich werde eure Erschlagenen hinfallen lassen vor euren Götzen[1]; (Jr 7:32; Jr 8:1)5und die Leichen der Söhne Israel werde ich vor ihre Götzen[2] hinlegen und eure Gebeine rings um eure Altäre streuen. (Jr 7:32; Jr 8:1)6An allen euren Wohnsitzen sollen die Städte in Trümmern und die Höhen verwüstet daliegen, damit eure Altäre in Trümmern und wüst daliegen und eure Götzen[3] zerbrochen sind und verschwinden und eure Räucheraltäre umgehauen und eure Machwerke ausgelöscht sind. (Lv 26:31; 1R 14:23; Is 2:18; Jr 9:10; Jr 51:18; Mi 1:7)7Und Erschlagene sollen in eurer Mitte hinfallen. Und ihr werdet erkennen, dass ich der HERR bin.8Doch will ich einen Rest lassen: Wenn ihr solche habt, die dem Schwert entkommen sind unter den Nationen, wenn ihr in die Länder zerstreut sein werdet, (Ne 1:8; Is 6:13; Ez 12:16; Ez 14:22; So 3:12)9dann werden eure Entkommenen unter den Nationen, wohin sie gefangen weggeführt wurden, sich an mich erinnern, der ich ihr hurerisches Herz zerbrochen habe[4], das von mir abgewichen ist, und ihre Augen, die ihren Götzen[5] nachhurten. Und sie werden über sich selbst Ekel empfinden wegen der bösen Taten, die sie begangen haben nach allen ihren Gräueln. (Nb 15:39; Dt 30:1; Jr 51:50; Ez 20:43; Ez 36:31; Za 10:9)10Und sie werden erkennen, dass ich, der HERR, nicht umsonst geredet habe, ihnen dieses Unheil anzutun! (Ez 5:13; Ez 22:14)11So spricht der Herr, HERR: Schlage in deine Hand, und stampfe mit deinem Fuß auf und sprich: Wehe über alle bösen Gräuel des Hauses Israel! Denn durch das Schwert, durch den Hunger und durch die Pest müssen sie fallen. (Jr 24:10; Jr 42:22; Ez 5:12; Ez 9:4; Ez 21:19; Ez 33:27)12Wer fern ist, wird an der Pest sterben, und wer nahe ist, wird durch das Schwert fallen, und wer übrig geblieben und bewahrt worden ist, wird vor Hunger sterben. Und ich vollende meinen Grimm an ihnen. (Jr 24:10; Jr 42:22; Ez 5:12; Ez 33:27)13Und ihr werdet erkennen, dass ich der HERR bin, wenn sich ihre Erschlagenen mitten unter ihren Götzen befinden, rings um ihre Altäre her, auf jedem hohen Hügel, auf allen Berggipfeln und unter jedem grünen Baum und unter jeder dicht belaubten Terebinthe, an dem Ort, wo sie allen ihren Götzen[6] wohlgefälligen Geruch[7] dargebracht haben, (1R 14:23; Is 57:5; Jr 13:27; Ez 20:28; Ez 23:41)14und wenn ich meine Hand gegen sie ausstrecke und das Land zum Entsetzen[8] und Grausen mache in all ihren Wohnsitzen von der Wüste ⟨Juda⟩ an bis nach Ribla[9]. Ezekiel prophesies against the mountains of Israel
1A message from the LORD came to me. The LORD said,2‘Son of man, turn your attention to the mountains of Israel. Prophesy against them.3Say, “Mountains of Israel, listen to the message of the LORD and King. Here is what he says to the mountains and hills. And here is what he says to the canyons and valleys. He tells them, ‘I will send swords to kill your people. I will destroy the high places where you worship other gods.4Your altars will be torn down. Your incense altars will be smashed. And I will kill your people in front of the statues of your gods.5I will put the dead bodies of Israelites in front of those statues. I will scatter your bones around your altars.6No matter where you live, the towns will be destroyed. The high places will be torn down. So your altars will be completely destroyed. The statues of your gods will be smashed to pieces. Your incense altars will be broken down. And everything you have made will be wiped out.7Your people will fall down dead among you. Then you will know that I am the LORD.8‘ “ ‘But I will spare some of you. Some will escape from being killed by swords. You will be scattered among other lands and nations.9You will be taken away to those nations as prisoners. Those of you who escape will remember me. You will recall how much pain your unfaithful hearts gave me. You turned away from me. Your eyes longed to see the statues of your gods. You will hate yourselves because of all the evil things you have done. I hate those things too.10You will know that I am the LORD. I said I would bring trouble on you. And my warning came true.’ ” ’11The LORD and King said to me, ‘Clap your hands. Stamp your feet. Cry out, “How sad!” Do this because the people of Israel have done so many evil things. I hate those things. Israel will be destroyed by war, hunger and plague.12The one who is far away will die of the plague. The one who is near will be killed by swords. Anyone who is left alive and is spared will die of hunger. And in this way I will pour out my great anger on them.13Then they will know that I am the LORD. Their people will lie dead among the statues of their gods around their altars. Their bodies will lie on every high hill and every mountaintop. They will lie under every green tree and leafy oak tree. They used to offer sweet-smelling incense to all their gods at those places.14I will reach out my powerful hand against them. The land will become dry and empty. Those people will live from the desert all the way to Diblah. They will know that I am the LORD.’
