1L’Eternel m’adressa la parole en ces termes:2Fils d’homme, tourne tes regards vers Gog au pays de Magog, prince suprême[1] de Méshek et de Toubal[2]! Prophétise contre lui (Gn 10:2; Ez 27:13; Ez 39:1; Ap 20:8)3et dis: « Voici ce que déclare le Seigneur, l’Eternel: Je m’en prends à toi, Gog, prince suprême de Méshek ainsi que de Toubal.4Je te ferai faire demi-tour, je te mettrai des crochets aux mâchoires, je te ferai sortir, toi et toute ton armée, tes chevaux et tes équipages, tous superbement revêtus et formant une troupe nombreuse, portant le grand et le petit bouclier, maniant l’épée.5Perses, Ethiopiens et ceux de Pouth[3] les rejoindront, tous équipés de casques et de boucliers. (Gn 10:6)6Gomer et toutes ses légions, et le peuple de Togarma[4] aux confins du septentrion et toutes ses légions, des peuples innombrables, seront tes auxiliaires. (Gn 10:3; 1Ch 1:6)7Prends tes dispositions et tiens-toi prêt, toi et toutes tes troupes groupées autour de toi. Tu seras leur commandant.8Au bout de bien des jours, tu seras appelé au combat; dans la suite des temps, tu iras envahir un pays dont les habitants auront échappé à l’épée et auront été rassemblés d’entre beaucoup de peuples sur les montagnes d’Israël qui étaient si longtemps en ruine. Cette population qu’on aura fait sortir du milieu d’autres peuples habitera entièrement dans la sécurité.9Tu montes, tu arrives comme un ouragan qui s’abat, comme un nuage qui va couvrir la terre, toi et tous tes bataillons et les peuples nombreux qui marchent avec toi.10Voici ce que déclare le Seigneur, l’Eternel: En ce jour-là, des projets naîtront dans ton cœur, tu concevras un dessein criminel,11et tu diras: “Je vais attaquer un pays ouvert, et j’arriverai chez des gens qui vivent tranquilles dans la sécurité, habitant dans des villes sans remparts, sans verrous, et qui n’ont pas de portes.”12Tu iras pour piller et faire du butin, et pour porter la main sur des lieux auparavant désolés, maintenant habités, contre ce peuple rassemblé d’entre les autres peuples, ayant des troupeaux et des biens, qui habitera à présent au centre de ce monde[5]. (Ez 5:5)13Ceux de Séba et de Dedân[6], les marchands de Tarsis et tous ses princes[7] te diront alors: “Est-ce donc pour piller, pour faire du butin, que tu as rassemblé tout cet amas de troupes et que tu es venu? Est-ce pour enlever l’argent et pour emporter l’or, pour prendre les troupeaux et t’emparer des biens, pour faire un grand pillage?” » (Ez 19:1)14C’est pourquoi, toi, fils d’homme, prophétise et va dire à Gog: « Voici ce que déclare le Seigneur, l’Eternel: Assurément, en ce temps-là où mon peuple Israël habitera là-bas dans la sécurité, tu en auras connaissance[8].15Tu quitteras le lieu où tu seras alors aux confins du septentrion, toi et les nombreux peuples qui seront tes alliés, tous montés à cheval, grande coalition et armée innombrable,16et tu viendras attaquer mon peuple Israël comme un nuage qui vient couvrir la terre. Je te ferai venir attaquer mon pays dans les temps de la fin afin que les autres peuples apprennent à connaître qui je suis, quand par mes actes envers toi je démontrerai à leurs yeux ma sainteté, ô Gog.
Appelé par Dieu – détruit par lui
17Voici ce que déclare le Seigneur, l’Eternel: N’est-ce pas toi dont j’ai parlé il y a bien longtemps par les prophètes d’Israël, mes serviteurs, qui ont prophétisé, déjà en ce temps-là et pendant des années, que je te ferais venir pour combattre mon peuple?18En ce jour-là, au jour où Gog pénétrera sur le sol d’Israël, c’est là ce que déclare le Seigneur, l’Eternel: La colère me montera jusqu’au visage.19Dans ma passion et dans ma colère ardente, je le déclare, un grand tremblement de terre surviendra, en ce jour-là, au pays d’Israël.20Devant moi trembleront les poissons de la mer, les oiseaux, les bêtes sauvages, tous les animaux qui rampent sur le sol, les insectes, et tout homme qui vit sur la surface de la terre. Les montagnes s’écrouleront, les falaises s’affaisseront, et toutes les murailles s’effondreront à terre.21Je susciterai alors la guerre contre Gog sur toutes mes montagnes, c’est là ce que déclare le Seigneur, l’Eternel, et ils s’entretueront, chacun tirant l’épée contre son camarade.22J’exercerai mon jugement contre lui par la peste et le sang, et je ferai tomber une forte pluie, des grêlons, du feu et du soufre, sur lui, sur ses légions et sur les peuples nombreux qui seront avec lui.23Je manifesterai ma grandeur et ma sainteté, je me ferai connaître à de nombreux peuples et ils reconnaîtront que je suis l’Eternel. »
Drohrede gegen Gog aus Magog und das furchtbare Gericht über ihn
1Und das Wort des HERRN geschah zu mir so:2Menschensohn, richte dein Gesicht gegen Gog ⟨zum⟩ Land Magog, ⟨gegen⟩ den Fürsten von Rosch, Meschech und Tubal[1], und weissage über ihn (Gn 10:2; Ez 27:13; Ap 20:8)3und sprich: So spricht der Herr, HERR: Siehe, ich will an dich, Gog, Fürst von Rosch, Meschech und Tubal[2].4Und ich lenke dich herum und lege Haken in deine Kinnbacken; und ich führe dich heraus und dein ganzes Heer, Pferde und Reiter, sie alle prächtig gekleidet, ein großes Aufgebot mit Langschild und Kleinschild, schwertführend sie alle: (2R 19:28; Is 37:29; Ez 29:4)5⟨Söldner aus⟩ Paras, Kusch und Put mit ihnen, sie alle ⟨mit⟩ Kleinschild und Helm, (Ez 27:10)6Gomer und alle seine Scharen, das Haus Togarma im äußersten Norden und alle seine Scharen, viele Völker mit dir. (Gn 10:2; Ez 27:14; Ez 32:30; Ap 20:8)7Rüste dich, und rüste dir ⟨alles⟩ zu, du und dein ganzes Aufgebot, das zu dir hin aufgeboten ist, und steh mir[3] zur Verfügung!8Nach vielen Tagen sollst du aufgeboten werden[4]; am Ende der Jahre sollst du in ein Land kommen, das vom Schwert wiederhergestellt, das aus vielen Völkern gesammelt ist, auf die Berge Israels, die für lange Zeit[5] zur Trümmerstätte geworden waren; das ist aus den Völkern herausgeführt worden, und sie wohnen in Sicherheit allesamt. (Is 8:9; Ez 34:25; Ez 36:24)9Und du wirst hinaufziehen, wie ein Sturm herankommen, wirst sein wie eine Wolke, das Land zu bedecken, du und alle deine Scharen und viele Völker mit dir. (Da 11:40)10So spricht der Herr, HERR: Und es wird geschehen an jenem Tag, da werden Dinge in deinem Herzen aufsteigen, und du wirst einen bösen Plan schmieden[6] (Ps 83:4)11und sagen: Ich will hinaufziehen gegen ein offenes Land, will über die kommen, die sich ruhig verhalten, in Sicherheit wohnen – sie alle wohnen ⟨ja⟩ ohne Mauern, auch Riegel und Tor[7] haben sie nicht –, (Dt 12:10; Jr 49:31; Za 2:8)12um Raub zu rauben und Beute zu erbeuten, um deine Hand zu kehren gegen die ⟨wieder⟩ bewohnten Trümmerstätten und gegen ein Volk, das aus den Nationen gesammelt ist, das Viehbesitz und ⟨andere⟩ Habe erworben hat, ⟨Leute,⟩ die den Mittelpunkt der Erde bewohnen[8].13Saba und Dedan und die Aufkäufer von Tarsis und all seine Händler[9] werden zu dir sagen: Kommst du, um Raub zu rauben? Hast du dein ⟨Kriegs⟩aufgebot aufgeboten, um Beute zu erbeuten, um Silber und Gold davonzutragen, um Vieh und ⟨andere⟩ Habe wegzunehmen, um einen großen Raub zu rauben? (Ez 27:12)14Darum weissage, Menschensohn, und sage zu Gog: So spricht der Herr, HERR: Wirst du dich an jenem Tag, wenn mein Volk Israel in Sicherheit wohnt, nicht aufmachen[10]15und von deinem Ort kommen, vom äußersten Norden her, du und viele Völker mit dir – die alle auf Pferden reiten, ein großes Aufgebot und ein zahlreiches Heer –,16und wirst gegen mein Volk Israel heraufziehen wie eine Wolke, um das Land zu bedecken? Am Ende der Tage wird es geschehen, dass ich dich über mein Land kommen lasse, damit die Nationen mich erkennen, wenn ich mich an dir, Gog, vor ihren Augen als heilig erweise. (Ex 14:4; Ez 20:41; Da 10:14; Mi 4:1)17So spricht der Herr, HERR: Bist du ⟨nicht⟩ der, von dem ich in vergangenen Tagen geredet habe durch meine Knechte, die Propheten Israels, die in jenen Tagen jahre⟨lang⟩ weissagten, dass ich dich über sie kommen lassen würde? (Mi 4:11)18Und an jenem Tag wird es geschehen, an dem Tag, wenn Gog in das Land Israel kommt, spricht der Herr, HERR[11], da wird mein Grimm in meiner Nase aufsteigen. (Ez 36:6)19Und in meinem Eifer, im Feuer meiner Zornglut habe ich geredet: Wenn an jenem Tag nicht ein großes Beben im Land Israel sein wird[12]! (Ez 36:5)20Und vor mir werden beben die Fische des Meeres und die Vögel des Himmels und die Tiere des Feldes und alle Kriechtiere, die auf dem Erdboden kriechen, und alle Menschen, die auf der Fläche des Erdbodens sind; und die Berge werden niedergerissen werden, und die Felsstufen[13] werden einstürzen, und jede Mauer wird zu Boden fallen. (Jr 4:24; Na 1:5; Ap 11:13)21Und ich rufe auf meinem ganzen Gebirge das Schwert über ihn herbei, spricht der Herr, HERR[14]; da wird das Schwert des einen gegen den anderen ⟨gerichtet⟩ sein. (Ag 2:22; Za 14:13)22Und ich werde ins Gericht mit ihm gehen[15] durch Pest und durch Blut. Und einen überschwemmenden Regen und Hagelsteine, Feuer und Schwefel lasse ich auf ihn regnen und auf seine Scharen und auf die vielen Völker, die mit ihm sind. (Ps 11:6; Is 29:6; Is 66:16; Za 14:12; Ap 8:7; Ap 16:21; Ap 20:9)23Und ich werde mich groß und heilig erweisen und werde mich kundtun vor den Augen vieler Nationen. Und sie werden erkennen, dass ich der HERR bin. (Ex 14:4; Is 25:3; Ez 20:41; Ez 28:22; Ez 38:1)
1A message from the LORD came to me. The LORD said,2‘Son of man, turn your attention to Gog. He is from the land of Magog. He is the chief prince of Meshek and Tubal. Prophesy against him.3Tell him, “The LORD and King says, ‘Gog, I am against you. You are the chief prince of Meshek and Tubal.4But I will turn you round. I will put hooks in your jaws. I will bring you out of your land along with your whole army. Your horses will come with you. Your horsemen will be completely armed. Your huge army will carry large and small shields. All of them will be ready to use their swords.5The men of Persia, Cush and Put will march out with them. All of them will have shields and helmets.6Gomer and all its troops will be there too. Beth Togarmah from the far north will also come with all its troops. Many nations will help you.7‘ “ ‘Get ready. Be prepared. Take command of the huge armies gathered around you.8After many years you will be called together to fight. Later, you will march into a land that has not had war for a while. Its people were gathered together from many nations. They came to the mountains of Israel. No one had lived in those mountains for a long time. So the people had been brought back from other nations. Now all the people live in safety.9You, all your troops and the many nations with you will march up to attack them. All of you will advance like a storm. You will be like a cloud covering their land.’10‘ “The LORD and King says, ‘At that time some ideas will come to you. You will make evil plans.11You will say, “I will march out against a land whose villages don’t have walls around them. I’ll attack those peaceful people. I’ll do this when they aren’t expecting it. None of their villages has walls or gates with metal bars on them.12I will rob those people. I’ll steal everything they have. Then I’ll turn my attention to the destroyed houses where people are living again. They have returned there from other nations. Now they are rich. They have plenty of livestock and all kinds of goods. They are living in Israel. It is the centre of the earth.”13The people of Sheba and Dedan will speak to you. So will the traders of Tarshish and all its villages. They will say, “Have you come to rob us? Have you gathered your huge army together to steal our silver and gold? Are you going to take away from us our livestock and goods? Do you plan to carry off everything we have?” ’ ”14‘Son of man, prophesy. Tell Gog, “The LORD and King says, ‘A time is coming when my people Israel will be living in safety. You will see that it is a good time to attack them.15So you will come from your place in the far north. Many nations will join you. All their men will be riding on horses. You will have a huge and mighty army.16They will advance against my people Israel. They will be like a cloud covering their land. Gog, in days to come I will bring you against my land. Then the nations will know me. I will use you to prove to them how holy I am.’17‘ “Here is what the LORD and King says to Gog. ‘In the past I spoke about you through my servants, the prophets of Israel. At that time they prophesied for years that I would bring you against them.18Here is what will happen in days to come. You will attack the land of Israel. That will stir up my burning anger,’ announces the LORD and King.19‘At that time my burning anger will blaze out at you. There will be a great earthquake in the land of Israel.20The fish in the sea, the birds in the sky and the wild animals will tremble with fear. They will tremble with fear because of what I will do. So will every creature that moves along the ground. And so will all the people on earth. The mountains will come crashing down. The cliffs will break into pieces. Every wall will fall to the ground.21I will punish you on all my mountains,’ announces the LORD and King. ‘Your men will use their swords against one another.22I will judge you. I will send a plague against you. A lot of blood will be spilled. I will send heavy rain, hailstones and burning sulphur down to the earth. They will fall on you and your troops. They will also come down on the many nations that are helping you.23That will show how great and holy I am. I will make myself known to many nations. Then they will know that I am the LORD.’ ”
