1 Žalm Davidův. K tobě, Hospodine, volám, skálo má, přeruš své mlčení! Jestliže neodpovíš mi, podobný budu mrtvolám! 2 Vyslyš mé prosby, když k tobě volám, když ruce zvedám k tvé nejsvětější svatyni! 3 Nezahrnuj mě mezi darebáky a mezi pachatele zla, mezi ty, kdo s bližními mluví o pokoji, v srdcích však mají zášť. 4 Dej jim odplatu za jejich skutky, za podlost jejich počinů, odměň je za dílo jejich rukou, dej jim zaslouženou odplatu! 5 Protože nedbají na Hospodinovy činy – na to, co vykonal svýma rukama – proto je rozboří a nikdy více nebude je už budovat. 6 Požehnán buď Hospodin, že vyslyšel mé prosby! 7 Hospodin je má síla a můj štít, na něj se v srdci spoléhám. Pomoc jsem dostal, mé srdce jásá, svou písní chci mu děkovat! 8 Svému lidu je Hospodin silou, svému pomazanému je jistou záchranou. 9 Zachraň, Hospodine, svůj lid, požehnej svému dědictví, buď jejich pastýř a nes je navěky!

1 Of David. To you, O Lord, I call; my rock, be not deaf to me, lest, if you be silent to me, I become like those who go down to the pit. (Ž 18,2; Ž 35,22; Ž 39,12; Ž 83,1; Ž 88,4; Ž 109,1; Ž 143,7) 2 Hear the voice of my pleas for mercy, when I cry to you for help, when I lift up my hands toward your most holy sanctuary.[1] (1Kr 8,29; Ž 5,7; Ž 119,48; Ž 134,2; Ž 138,2; Ž 140,6; Ž 141,2; Pl 2,19; 1Tm 2,8) 3 Do not drag me off with the wicked, with the workers of evil, who speak peace with their neighbors while evil is in their hearts. (Ž 5,9; Ž 12,2; Ž 26,9; Ž 55,21; Ž 62,4; Jr 9,8; Ez 32,20) 4 Give to them according to their work and according to the evil of their deeds; give to them according to the work of their hands; render them their due reward. (Ž 137,8; Jr 50,15; Jr 50,29; 2Tm 4,14; Zj 18,6) 5 Because they do not regard the works of the Lord or the work of his hands, he will tear them down and build them up no more. (Jb 34,27; Iz 5,12) 6 Blessed be the Lord! For he has heard the voice of my pleas for mercy. (Ž 28,2) 7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.
