11 The name of the star is Wormwood.[1] A third of the waters became wormwood, and many people died from the water, because it had been made bitter. (Ex 15:23; De 29:18; Jer 9:15; Jer 23:15) 

New International Version

11 the name of the star is Wormwood.[1] A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter. 

New International Reader’s Version

11 The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the water turned bitter. Many people died from it. 

King James Version

11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
