32 While the people of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day. (Ex 20:8; Ex 35:3) 

New International Version

32 While the Israelites were in the wilderness, a man was found gathering wood on the Sabbath day. 

New International Reader’s Version

32 The Israelites were in the desert. One Sabbath day, people saw a man gathering wood. 

King James Version

32 And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day.
