Matthew 13:22

English Standard Version

22 As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful. (Mt 6:25; Mt 19:23; Mr 10:23; Ac 5:1; 1Ti 6:9; 1Ti 6:17; 2Ti 4:10; Heb 3:13)

New International Version

22 The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful.

New International Reader’s Version

22 The seed that fell among the thorns is like others who hear the message. But then the worries of this life and the false promises of wealth crowd it out. They keep the message from producing fruit.

King James Version

22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
