English Standard Version

26 And after crying out and convulsing him terribly, it came out, and the boy was like a corpse, so that most of them said, “He is dead.” (Mr 9:20) 

New International Version

26 The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, ‘He’s dead.’ 

New International Reader’s Version

26 The spirit screamed. It shook the boy wildly. Then it came out of him. The boy looked so lifeless that many people said, ‘He’s dead.’ 

King James Version

26 And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead.
