Judges 6:27

English Standard Version

27 So Gideon took ten men of his servants and did as the Lord had told him. But because he was too afraid of his family and the men of the town to do it by day, he did it by night. 

New International Version

27 So Gideon took ten of his servants and did as the Lord told him. But because he was afraid of his family and the townspeople, he did it at night rather than in the daytime. 

New International Reader’s Version

27 So Gideon went and got ten of his servants. He did just as the LORD had told him. But he was afraid of his family. He was also afraid of the people in the town. So he did everything at night instead of during the day. 

King James Version

27 Then Gideon took ten men of his servants, and did as the LORD had said unto him: and so it was, because he feared his father' household, and the men of the city, that he could not do it by day, that he did it by night.
