Jeremiah 48:2

2 the renown of Moab is no more. In Heshbon they planned disaster against her: ‘Come, let us cut her off from being a nation!’ You also, O Madmen, shall be brought to silence; the sword shall pursue you. (Nu 32:37; Isa 10:31; Isa 15:4; Jer 31:36; Jer 48:34; Jer 48:45; Jer 49:3)

New International Version

2 Moab will be praised no more; in Heshbon[1] people will plot her downfall: “Come, let us put an end to that nation.” You, the people of Madmen,[2] will also be silenced; the sword will pursue you.

New International Reader’s Version

2 Moab will not be praised anymore. In Heshbon people will plan its fall from power. They will say, “Come. Let’s put an end to that nation.” City of Madmen, you too will be silent. My sword will hunt you down.

King James Version

2 There shall be no more praise of Moab: in Heshbon they have devised evil against it; come, and let us cut it off from being a nation. Also thou shalt be cut down, O Madmen; the sword shall pursue thee.
