Hebrews 4:2

English Standard Version

2 For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened.[1] (Ro 3:3) 

New International Version

2 For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed.[1] 

New International Reader’s Version

2 The good news was announced to our people of long ago. It has also been preached to us. The message they heard didn’t have any value for them. That’s because they didn’t share the faith of those who obeyed. 

King James Version

2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
