Genesis 4:8

English Standard Version

8 Cain spoke to Abel his brother.[1] And when they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel and killed him. (Mt 23:35; Heb 12:24; 1Jo 3:12; Jud 1:11) 

New International Version

8 Now Cain said to his brother Abel, ‘Let’s go out to the field.’[1] While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him. 

New International Reader’s Version

8 Cain said to his brother Abel, ‘Let’s go out to the field.’ So they went out. There Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him. 

King James Version

8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
