Genesis 4:7

English Standard Version

7 If you do well, will you not be accepted?[1] And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is contrary to[2] you, but you must rule over it.” (Ge 3:16; Ec 8:12; Isa 3:10; Ro 2:6)

New International Version

7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.’

New International Reader’s Version

7 Do what is right and then you will be accepted. If you don’t do what is right, sin is waiting at your door to grab you. It desires to control you. But you must rule over it.’

King James Version

7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
