Deuteronomy 15:2

English Standard Version

2 And this is the manner of the release: every creditor shall release what he has lent to his neighbor. He shall not exact it of his neighbor, his brother, because the Lord’s release has been proclaimed.

New International Version

2 This is how it is to be done: every creditor shall cancel any loan they have made to a fellow Israelite. They shall not require payment from anyone among their own people, because the Lord’s time for cancelling debts has been proclaimed.

New International Reader’s Version

2 Have you made a loan to one of your own people? Then forgive what is owed to you. You can’t require that person to pay you back. The LORD’s time to forgive what is owed has been announced.

King James Version

2 And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor that lendeth ought unto his neighbour shall release it ; he shall not exact it of his neighbour, or of his brother; because it is called the LORD' release.
